Do you have some theory about Mujin's scar on his face? It's simillar to gangjae's so maby he also before the series' timeline was almost banoshed from dongcheon. What do tou think?

i had no idea omg i'm sure he has so many scars all over though, considering he worked his way up from the very bottom, all the way up to the top of dongcheon.

Hi Callaa. I saw someone mentioned that Mujin whispered Jiwoo’s name before his last breath. And then i went watch it again and he did say something that wasn’t translated. Any idea what it was?

kfans are actually on the fence about this too hehe. people seem to fall into 2 theories of what his last words were:

jiwoo's name: for very obvious reasons, some people feel super strongly that choi mujin must've said jiwoo's name with his last breath. it's also one of the only moments he ever stares at her straight on, face-to-face, and allows himself to hold eye contact with her and really look at her (rather than all the times/scenes they'd be side-by-side and face the same direction but rarely ever each other)  

그렇지 / geu-ru-chi / eng trans. that's right/that's it: this is something choi mujin would say often throughout the entire series!! he said it several times during their final fight (see: every time she'd find the strength to stand back up, no matter how unsteady) and when he'd train her in the past too. if said affectionately, it's almost like a teacher praising a student when they're able to perform correctly or get an answer right. the kfans who believe this theory must be in the extra angsty i'm-here-for-pain camp because if he really DID say this at the very end............... praising her and soothing her at the end for finally completing her ultimate goal/task............... it just breaks my heart ok 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

If Mujin knew Taeju was so badly injured, why do you think he sent Taeju on this death mission if there was no hope to defeat her? Poor Taeju.

i don't think choi mujin sent taeju on a death mission!! taeju was moving on his own and wasn't following choi mujin's orders at that point. i don't think choi mujin even knew what taeju was doing/had decided to do!!

mmm i think taeju had realized the situation was unraveling and jiwoo was spiraling with all the newfound information. he was just making good on the promise he'd made to choi mujin -- that they'd need to kill her if things got messy. i think he had just underestimated her fury.

THAT BEING SAID..........

i DO think that choi mujin sent all his other men on a death mission after that, once he realized he may have truly lost her. i feel like he literally laid out all of dongcheon at her feet and offered them up to her as sacrifices for the taking. 😬😬😬

i think it was necessary to choi mujin for her to fight (and defeat) all his men so that 1) they wouldn't go after her in the future because clearly the organization couldn't just let her go free after this rampage and 2) to remind jiwoo with every man she bodied that she was more like him than she'd want to admit.

choi mujin truly felt like they were kindred souls, i think.

Do you think it's realistic that Jiwoo defeated Taeju in the final round? It felt overly fantastical for the best fighter Taeju to be defeated by Jiwoo to me.

hmmmmmm 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

considering that he only had one arm (that had already been destroyed previously and then stabbed again recently/right before their big fight Ultimate Showdown hehe), i'd say that it was a pretty fair fight?? yes, taeju was the best fighter in their city -- leagues and leagues better than anyone else/no one could even come close -- but taeju was ALSO already so badly injured throughout previous eps in the show, it evened out their playing field!!

like..... he only had one arm (the other one he couldn't even move whatsoever anymore) and needed to use his one single good arm to both attack AND defend himself. 😬😬😬 considering that disadvantage he was at + how lethal and murderous and betrayed jiwoo felt in that moment, i think it made lots of sense -- at least to me!! hehe

woah that’s so exciting, chapter 1 this week! out of curiosity how many chapters do you anticipate ‘heat waves’ to be? x

hmmmmmmm i'm trying to figure out how/when to break up the different scenes. so far, i'm thinking maybe 3-5 chapters (can't decide if i want longer chaps or shorter chaps hmmm)... but i also still haven't been able to finish the ending yet bc i have some loose ends, so it might end up being even longer than that hehe.

thank you for the kind words!! im always worried that the oc won't live up to someone's expectations or will be difficult to relate to (as i'm sure we all have a different opinion of how the oc should sound), so this was such a relief to read hehehe

while we're on the topic.......

are most of my readers here in the camp of feisty! ocs (where are my brats??? lol) OR

soft! ocs (my soft babies who just want to be held and drawn bubble baths)???

i feel like im a mix for taeju and mujin lol!!!

i want mujin to have a soft baby, who he can soothe and sit on his lap and feed by hand. i just want him to the spoil the shit out of someone lmao. someone who will trust him with her life, and someone who he can trust (omg unbelievable) as well!!

and then for taeju, i want him to have a fighter who can give as much as she takes, who spars with him like a partner in the ring and will (rightfully) give him shit when he doesn't take care of himself (please patch him up instead of letting him do it all by himself ok tyvm!!)

(but then i also want them both to have the opposite too. mujin with his fighter, who will come through and rescue HIM when no one else can. taeju with the softest lady who likes to draw him a bath when he's had a terrible day and whispers him to sleep, her fingers in his hair, after. I JUST WANT IT ALL.)
