Us: we want shows centered around black people, yes, but not ALL of them have to be making a statement, have to be centered around Wokeness™️, or necessarily have to be completely political in nature
Some of y'all: cool, so it’s fine if we go back to using LESS black people in our media, and can also start writing the ones we DO have as the loud, niggerish, porch monkeys

how do you think forwood wouldve gone if the writers were brain dead pussies with no backbones
i know candice was julies little bitch dog which is why she never left the show for longer than 2 episodes but i always liked the idea of caroline going with tyler whenever he left town the way she was supposed to at the end of s3
this way klaus' attention couldve gone to someone more interesting (COUGH) Bonnie
then when tyler and caroline come back it turns out they got married Naley style
that’s a fun question.
A big Forwood problem outside of Klaus is that we aren’t seeing enough of Tyler’s side. I think seeing on screen and having Caroline go with Tyler would’ve been great. Tyler hated who he was in s1 and coming into his werewolf side and working with wolves/hybrids is how he began to change along with Caroline's support. The thing is if they can give a full werewolf related arc to Hayley in TO they could've did more with Tyler's. He wasn't a main character but a peak at what's doing while he isn't in MF wouldn't have hurt. The Lockwoods was the introduction to werewolves and without Tyler, you don't Hayley's arc or Klaus. The Lockwoods were apart of the world building and just tossed aside. It’s infuriating.
That being said, I think Forwood would’ve been fine longterm with Caroline seeing and being able to understand what was going on with Tyler. She was supportive of him vice-versa all the time. It’s somewhere on my blog but yeah Forwood is very Naley-coded pre-Klaus that is they definitely would’ve been the type to sneak off and get married.
You just reminded me of a one shot I didn’t finish about Forwood being detectives on if Klonnie is a thing. But, in Julie’s world Bonnie can date her pseudo step-brother before she ever dated a villain/character people care about.

i don’t tolerate katara slander. the fandom (esp on tiktok) always downplays her trauma and find her annoying because she “rambles on about her dead mother all the time”, when in fact she has only mentioned her a handful of times to connect with others and to reassure them. People don’t realise that she didn’t just lose her mother, she felt that she was responsible for her death and lives with survivors guilt because of it. Let’s not forget that her mother sacrificed herself to save katara which makes her grief all the more palpable. (She literally witnessed her mum’s corpse as well)

I have seen you criticize TVD (in the anti tvd tag) and I would like to know your opinion on Brian Young. After TVD he produced the live action adaptation of Winx Club. In this adaptation, he took away Aisha (a black character) of the title of princess (the white character obviously still had her title of princess) and made her the best friend of the protagonist, when in the animated series she is a totally different character.
hi sorry it took me a few days to get to this. I haven’t been feeling the best but I haven’t seen the live adaption Winx Club but I have seen Winx. So if I get anything wrong please correct me!
It doesn’t make any sense why Brian Young wouldn’t utilize what was already made for Aisha. When Winx had years of content to work with. Aisha may have been a bestfriend, but she wasn’t solely a bestfriend. She was a princess and a guard and so many other things. Which should’ve been seen. That representation for darkskinned black women matter.
I learned that Brian truly did not know anything about the original source material before making the live action. Adaptions are always susceptible to changes that doesn’t mean you have to abandon prior work completely. Which is an issue. Do the work, if you’re going to rewrite something. Changes aren’t the issue it’s HOW those changes are made.
Black women fictional or not do not exist just to be someone’s bestfriend. There are ways to uplift a black character and white one at the same time if you truly care about the character’s development. It seems like Brian continued push those ideologies that TVD crew had. Honestly, since you mentioned Brian Young because most of those writers/producers who worked on TVD and went on to write their own projects faced some backlash from actors or even fans for problematic behavior. Which is extremely unprofessional.
I do know Fate was cancelled and unfortunately did not good send off which is terrible especially with its following that it had. I truly hope Winx can one day receive a proper adaptation that really aligns with its source material. Hopefully, when that day comes Brian Young and his bias aren’t within reach of that. Aisha’s arc deserves to be told how it so throughly written in the animation.
The last part is unrelated but just as important Netflix period could do better with marketing and catering to darkskin actresses and actors. Period.
I hope I answered this well! If you want we can talk about it :)
