As much as I wanna include the neonfell bros in ask stuff, I've come to realize that au is so plot driven that it's difficult to place them in outsider scenarios. Like, the whole "capricious skeleton in character" ask stuff is primarily loosely based on the popular/general/nonsensical scenario of tons of dif undergrounds surfacing/survivors being rescued and all of them living together in some giant accommodating place

But with neonfell having a plot besides the more standard types, and that plot having significant impact on the characters personalities, it's like. Idk. I guess largely its because I can't decide at what point in time from their story they'd be from, as that would make the biggest difference. But like. I want to include them. But it also just doesn't quite fit......

I really love giving stories happy endings and thinking about the characters recovering, yk? Swap Papyrus still on the mind a lot so using him as an example, the longer they're on the surface, the more he comes to relax. Finally starts becoming more comfortable with himself. Learning when he actually wants to be social versus just doesn't want to be alone, and actually starts enjoying some peace on his own.

Picking up hobbies like photography, painting dnd miniatures, modding games. Meeting people, getting to spend more time with Undyne and Sans and Asgore and all of them coming to learn better communication skills. All of them doing better on their own, too.

I also like to imagine, while more minor compared to the roles Chara, Asgore, and Alphys play, he’s still one of the few who help Toriel recover and move on and learn healthier mindsets and coping mechanisms. Because in same ways, he understands better than the others. Toriel knows about the Judge, understands, and she knows Papyrus knows, which makes his words carry a lot of weight for her. And even though there is still a little tension between them, I can imagine they have a very unique bond that both are grateful for.

Just...Papyrus slowly coming to not be so ashamed of himself and his limitations. Coming to understand himself better and start to really feel better, and just...becoming happy. I think, in the future, he'd become one of those guys who always has really insightful advice...if you can parse it from whatever silly anecdote he offered. And he’s also be a really great listener and overall solid presence for others to go to. And being able to be that, not just for others but for himself, with fulfill him in ways he may have never dreamed possible back underground.
