You provided wings to me, that helped that I might soar!
She...the wings I trusted so, before I hit the floor
But my heart, it did survive
A light I did then see
I lifted up my head a bit
So I could stand and be
I cannot even visualize
There...back in the day
When kisses I thought meant the world
Meant nothing one could say
First love...first sense
Seeing life somehow
I was so much older then
I’m younger than that now.

I see you but it is late at night
In dreams, thoughts...I see you
Once upon a time there was a presence
A life that really mattered to me
A time of innocence, when love was so simple
Faces were young, smiles were so often
Words were so inviting
Kisses were...well great kisses
Breathing was difficult
But, we survived
And changed...and grew
And parted for some reason
But you live...I live
And often I think about those days
I think...what if?
Isn’t life interesting...
I have no regrets...
Just wonderful memories
Of people I have loved...

The morning is moving real good
My mind thinking maybe I should
Go out on the sea where I’m wanting to be, if I could...be
My blues have all disappeared
With the sunshine, I haven’t a care
All I see is grouper tugging away at my line....
If you think I’m thinking of you
Better think about us being thru
I gave it my best... I failed the test...and I know it...
It’ll never be me

If I ever see you around
I hope that we smile and not frown
Cause we had a good time
Your sweet kisses Devine ...for the moment
Got the Sun Hunt docked and I’ll be
‘Bout twenty miles out in the sea
Gas in the tank and my sinker sank to the bottom

There was going to be more
Except for the Lincoln

That is what matters most
Not the outside, but the inside
What God’s see, that none might boast
Working hard towards righteousness
Faith can drives us to perform
What God sees, what one believes
Is what will save us through the storm
Faith and trust in everything
We do in every day
Faith in Him, as Abraham
Will pave the crooked Way
We may soon fall and feel a loss
On the seas of life ahead
But Faith assures us we will sail
His spoken Word has said

She has the pull of gravity
Unseen and so encompassing
She enters in a room, I feel
The tides are moving exceedingly
I try to steer, away and stay
An orbit just so far away
But then she comes , my course has changed
And now my life, rearranged
I hear a thunder, a distant storm
Lightning flashes to alarm
But calm is what she conceals
Hard to discern what now is real
I’ve seen that look upon her face
A gentleness, full of Grace
The gravity keeps tugging me
Not knowing when, where I might be

Radiating the beauty of a thousand virgins
Selected for their overwhelming expression of desire
Their eyes, hair, the soft flesh upon their bones
The intrigue of words that might flow from their parted lips
You...representing the glow of a sunrise on a clear dawning day
The freshness of a summer breeze
That has encircled and escaped with the sweetness of the honeysuckle blooms
You have captured the essence of all imagined beauty
Standing there unpretentiously smiling as though to say "pick me"
Knowing that no one could feel worthy of loving you...
You...the amazing creation that must live and exist with this burden of beauty.

One man’s treasure, is another man’s desire
And it’s not always clear what’s refined in the fire
The treasure that’s before him, he can’t always see
Soon she will become his favorite memory

The time passing slowly, don’t seem like much is really gone
The night, dark and lonely, I put some music on
I know that I loved her, but the words I could not say

The sand seems to always find
The toes within my shoes
The sea salt now upon my lips, tasting oh so good
My spirit’s low but improved , With what now I view
The ocean moving constantly in its vibrant blues
Feeling a gentle wave of air
Rushing in to shore
The gulls and their gliding search needing nothing more
Surf crashes white upon
Sand wiped clean and bare
Here I am once again alone standing there
Always, the ocean rolls quietly in my mind
Thinking that I’ll have the time
A time I never find
But here I am remembering our familiar view
The love of the ocean ….brings me back to you
We’d walk this shore a many a day
Confident of love
The shells we found, special ones
Seemed scattered from above
When alone face to face
Your smile would form my tears
Where has the time now gone
Thinking of the years
The time has gone, so have you
I miss your everything
When I hear the birds in song
I feel it’s you that sings

The sun is now setting
So is my day
My strength has been captured

Christmas morning, fresh snow upon the ground
Fire warming, love ones gather ‘round
Bright lights are glistening, placed gently on the tree
Presents all opened, children filled with glee!
Christmas morning, the giving has been done
Hearts all open, sharing with each one
Stillness is broken, with laughter and song
Gone are the thoughts of a winter cold and long!
Christmas morning, the dancing flames so warm
Blended the voices, sing a note of Joy
The oven is telling what there is to come
The table is calling but mother isn’t done...
Christmas morning, Grace from Him above
God has blessed this family, we thank Him for His Love
Pondering the New Year with a thankful heart
Strengthening the spirit for a fresh new start!

I am grateful …
My family, my friends, my enemies
My life has been a journey
We all have seen the scene
And here we are older than
Our feeble minds that can’t conceive
Here we are naked in
How we are, where we’ve been
Changes are what we see
But deep within is what we know
We have a foundation
Wisdom that just seems to glow
I know what is good
I know what is bad
I feel the failure that I once had
But here I am standing for
The goodness of mankind

Subtle colors of a coastal fall
Coolest drifts from breaking surf
Waning light as the western sky
Reflects a sun on a browning turf
In between is where we are
Summer’s heat forgotten now
Cold fronts push further south
Retreating in the coming hour
Sitting still with book in hand
A story takes me far away
When looking up I then there see
The chill surrounding end of day
The air has dried …the moisture gone
There’s little wind this time of year
So I recline and turn a page
