Did you see Caribu in Apple's keynote presentation last night?
During the event, Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing at Apple, Phil Schiller, used Caribu to demonstrate how awesome the new iPad Air is. This is truly one of the highest honours a development team can achieve, and we're hugely proud of this moment!
I'm also excited to introduce you to our new partner, Usborne Publishing. We're thrilled to have such a household name onboard, and to bring you some of their finest titles. "Tractor in Trouble" was a favourite of mine growing up - so I'm getting a bit nostalgic!
Enjoy the books and have a great weekend!

Caribu gets featured by Apple in 30 countries
Tumblr media
Today we made a leap and a bound in our journey to help children and their families stay in touch no matter where they are. Being featured on Apple’s iTunes’ homepage, What’s Hot, and Best New Apps & Games for Kids in 30 countries helps us reach more people than ever before.
With exciting product announcements coming this Autumn and the introduction of brand new books, this is only the beginning of Caribu. The beginning of a pursuit to change the way families stay in touch by turning a video call into story time.
Today we not only welcome a breath of new users from all over the world but also thank our existing users for choosing Caribu, believing in it, and evolving it.
Have a lovely weekend,
Ben, Si, Philip, and Alvaro

We Have Launched!
Today is a proud day for the Caribu team. The app that we have been developing for the last 6 months has finally been launched, and you can download it on your iPad today!
We would like to thank the guys at Maverick Arts for being our launch partners. Without their amazing books, the app would not be the same. Also, a big thanks to Microsoft Ventures, James and Eric at Made in Me, Emily Allen, everyone at Imperial, and most importantly, our families and friends who have supported us from the beginning.
It has been an incredible journey - and it feels like we're just getting started.

Microsoft Ventures & Caribu
We're really proud to announce that Caribu has been accepted into the Microsoft Ventures Accelerator Program. We'll be moving into our new workspace in February, receiving valuable mentorship and benefitting from the extensive network that Microsoft has to offer.
Here's what they had to say:
"Microsoft Ventures Accelerator – London – is pleased to welcome Caribu Limited into its February 2014 cohort. Competition was stiff, but Caribu Limited had the right mix of a great team and a great idea, whilst being coachable and, in our view, having the potential to’ attract third party funding. We look forward to working with them throughout the 12-week programme in 2014, and to accelerating their business to the next level.”
We can't wait!

Meet Nick the Ninja Newt!
Nick has lived in Caribu World all his life. He knows the streets, the shops and the sneaky shortcuts like the back of his tail. When he’s not studying at Ninja school or visiting his family in Swindon, he uses his skills as goalkeeper for Caribu FC.

Education and Apps
Apps can help a child's learning and development. Reading is a fundamental part of childhood and something parents highly value. Gaming also allows a child to experiment, fail, and then experiment some more in a safe environment. The level of concentration that a child reaches during a session on an iPad is an educators dream. This is an opportunity for technology and education to create an exciting new platform for teaching the next generation.
