‘March Evening’ - Frinton-by-Sea As a child, we’d go regularly to Goring beach and the Bluebird Cafe in West Sussex. It’s a good, windy walk rewarded with a hot chocolate or a cup of tea and a Kit Kat. It’s a pebble beach with lots of seaweed and gorse bushes. It’s a strong memory of what I see as home and I’m reminded of walking with my mum and dad, arm in arm (with my mum shielding her ears from the wind, of course). 😊 Here is a new painting of this beach.m, acrylic on canvas and measures 30 x 40 cm. ‘A Rare, Rare Find’ S O L D This commissioned painting has now travelled to lovely Rachel’s home. It’s a combination of all the places I have visited and painted in the last year or so. (This is what I wrote about the price recently....) The sky, however, is not from memory or photos but was painted in situ over many evenings in April and some of May. It was a challenge but I’ve enjoyed it. The name of the painting has come from a song by the legend Nick Drake, ‘Time Has Told Me’. (Have a listen if you get a minute). I hope you like painting. Work in Progress - Much Hadham Commission OK, full disclosure; I am meant to be doing paperwork and admin indoors for my husband.... I’m really hoping he doesn’t see this post....😬😬😬😬😬 But today is so gorgeous and I couldn’t help myself after all that rain. I just had to pack the paints and a few canvases and a bit of water so that I can chuck some paint around in the grass and hedgerows. I’ll post a video of me trying to paint this one without an easel later. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ I am fortunate enough to have a great commission to do and I have been literally itching to get stuck in. AVAILABLE - Across The Fields’ - Downhall, Hatfield Heath More about this painting - During the windy, blustery Friday morning, I decided to go and paint in a field. I got attacked by nettles and it was too windy for the easel so I sat by the ditch and had a go. The water bottle down the dungarees helped but it was too cold to stay too long. Luckily for me there was a warm reception lovely Sheering dog walkers who always have time for a chat. Well this is the outcome. It’s a reminder to me to try to get out there again soon as the views around Sheering and Hatfield Heath are beautiful. Anyway, hope you like the painting. ‘Evening Sun’ This piece is currently being shown at the Tudor House Gallery in Sawbridgeworth where you can see some of my work in the flesh. There is something magical about the sand and the surf and children being children. I always seem to have my best days at the beach. As a family, we have been very spoilt by travelling in our camper van and visiting the amazing beaches around the British Isles. I have an ongoing obsession with the sky, and I am always amazed at the incredible sunsets that are ever-changing in the evenings. Work in Progress - Southern Country Park I’ve been outside painting again trying to miss the rain. I was armed with lots of plastic bags to sit on and I managed to do a little sketch of the country park near Thorley. I hadn’t lovely chat with a little boy called Michal who was fascinated with the paint and my notebook (hi Michael Anna Olivia 😊😊😊😊... thanks for chatting to me and helping the time pass). The painting still needs some work but I thought you’d like to see the colours and the boldness at this stage. Sometimes you can carry on and kill the painting; sometimes you carry on and the magic happens. I’ve no idea what the next stage will be but fingers crossed it’s the latter. 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️ Hopefully the weather will dry out a bit soon ☔️ ☔️☔️☔️☔️ and I can get back out there in the fields.
