I think one of the saddest things about antis is that rather than viewing therapy as, well, therapeutic, they view it as:

Punitive ("you're a bad person, I don't like you, you're bad; go to therapy")

Corrective ("go to therapy so you can learn to be NORMAL")

A tool for spreading ideology ("your therapist would never agree that writing fics about [kink] is normal")

Not allowed flexibility on point 2 even for patient comfort ("if your therapist says your kinks ARE normal, you need a new one, because they are a bad therapist")

Devoid of patient care standards ("I want to be a therapist so I can fix the proship freaks [unspoken: not out of desire to help people and make their lives better. Solely so that I can be more comfortable and not see fic I don't like]")

Something only a 'defective' person would need, and that fixes all 'defects' ("you write icky fics. That's wrong. You're bad. You need therapy")

Has a standardized goal, determined by antis of course, instead of trying to help patients to navigate life ("if you were really in therapy, you wouldn't think it was okay to write about fictional characters being raped")

Not healthcare ("I, a layperson, am qualified to speak about how therapists should operate, a statement I would not make about medicine")

Yet also, healthcare, but only accessed by 'those icky people' ("you're insane, freak, only a delusional schizo would think this was okay")

For the comfort of others instead of for the patient themself ("you should go to therapy so you stop making works that make me comfortable; I don't care if it improves your life in any measurable way")

All of which are toxic and pervasive views of therapy demonstrated in multiple other aspects of society too, so I can't exactly say I'm surprised antis latch onto it so hard, but it is disheartening in any case.

Technophobes need to apologise for "just put it in plain English you stupid machine!" because, well for one the decline in accurate error messages in favour of simplicity has contributed to the rise of tech illiteracy, but also because now whenever an "app" has a net connection error it will pop up a box saying something like "oo ooopsie! Your super duper feed went poo poo. We'll try again soon!" which having said to me by a corporation is about 8 million times worse than having to hear the word "network".

maybe a crazy take idk but i dont actually think many scenes in stories are 'unneccesary' i think they just make people uncomfortable and rather than try to understand the significance of that discomfort and why the author mightve deliberately inflicted it, decide that discomfort = bad, therefore that scene + the author are both bad

the pretence of innocence about constantly asking trans women to deny that they're pedophiles is so transparent and stupid. like, the reason the 'not involved in human trafficking' shirt tweet is funny is because when you see someone, with very little prompting, deny some heinous accusation, the main piece of information you register in your mind is that the accusation exists. all these asks and 'just answer the question'-ing are an attempt to get every trans woman on this website (and, more generally, in the world) to wear a NOT A PEDOPHILE shirt. and we all know what questions such a shirt raises!

who smokes the biggest, fattest, nastiest blunts in homestuck?

john: he is from the suburbs. if earth b wasn't destroyed he would've smoked not only weed, but would've probably done shrooms as well. maybe even crack

rose: has definitely done weed but is now staying sober. not just to help with her alcoholism, but also because she gets extremely paranoid when she does and starts lighting candles everywhere to get rid of the smell and it's a literal fire hazard.

dave: talks the most shit but gets nervous and clammy when he's first handed a bong and it slips out of his shaking, sweaty hands and shatters into pieces all over the floor and no one offers him weed ever again

jane: doesn't touch the stuff because she "doesn't have the time for it" but the one time she decides to take a hit it has no effect on her at all and she gets extremely frustrated and takes a couple more, lies down, and then immediately enters the deepest, longest sleep of her life to the point that everyone else around her gets very concerned

jake: says he's never really been into drugs until someone informs him that the mushrooms he dug up behind meemaw's garden shed as a kid and ate to see funny movies in his head were, in fact, a form of drug

roxy: has actually never done weed and the one time she was given a bong has also dropped it with her sweaty gamer hands and had it shatter all over the floor

dirk: knows that weed could potentially help calm him down, let go of his hyper-vigilance, give relief from his constant self-inflicted anxiety, and help him achieve a state of inner peace. which is why he stays stone cold sober
