People saying Leclerc actually annoys me. Saying the English Charles when speaking English I somewhat understand because you'd have to change your vowel and r pronunciation for just one word. But Leclerc legit just requires you to not say the c and you are really close to the correct pronunciation. It requires zero effort.
I guess I'm extra iffy when it comes to name pronunciations because the English pronunciation of my own name is a totally separate name in my language and I've been told by English speaking people that they just can't be arsed to pronounce my name properly even though they easily can. This only applies to people that actually know me. If someone just reads my name then I don't care
i don't think charles minds whether people say "leclerc" or "leclair" but i get what you mean about the pronunciation of your name. it really sucks when people don't even make the effort to pronounce your name properly or give you a nickname you don't even want
