Poltergeist Chara AU where you find the locket in Toriel's room and upon interacting with it you bind the ghost to your soul allowing them to leave the ruins after many many years.

You're given the option to name your poltergeist but when named Chara you unlock special dialog relating to memories of them being alive.

No one can see the poltergeist or hear them speak except Napstablook who while curious of them will do their best to not acknowledge them.

Whether or not the poltergeist is Malevolent or Benevolent depends on your actions. Pacifist = Benevolent, Genocide = Malevolent. In neutral routes, the poltergeist is silent and only interacts with you when prompted too.
