PROTECTION SPELL BOTTLE

a simple spell bottle to protect yourself mentally, physically and spiritually

WHAT YOU NEED :

salt - protection, purification

cinnamon - protection, speeds up spells, courage

rosemary - protection, purification

chilli flakes - ward of unwanted energies

bay - protection against hexes and curses

basil- peace, protection, drive away evil

ginger - make spells more powerful, protection

black pepper - protection

oak leaves- protection, wisdom

egg shells - protection

lavender - peace, healing, protection

sage (please don’t use white sage) - protection, purification

candles : i used a white one and the also the wax from my deity candles on my alter

WHAT TO DO:

as always, ground yourself and cast a circle in the way you prefer

light all your candles, you can also light some insence if you’d like

in no particular order, add all your herbs into the jar (using a funnel - even if you make one from paper, can be really helpful), focussing on intent

create a sigil with the intent of protection using your own words and method. draw it on a small slip of paper, fold and add to the jar.

speak affirmations into the jar focusing on the protection of yourself ( or whoever will be wearing this). You can also repeat the statement used for the sigil

put the lid on and place the jar on something you can pour the candle wax onto.

pour all the candle wax onto your spell jar, allowing it to run down the sides and even create a pool at the bottom

allow the candle wax to mainly dry and remove the bottle. it is now done. i like to put the left lever wax that’s not attached on a wax melt thingy and melt it for further protection

The term soul animal no longer has ritual or religious meaning, and it can’t really be appropriated. Spn should have given us an episode where Dean, Sam, and Cas are all trying to tell a story about whatever happened before the episode. And Jack in an effort to practice the limitations of his powers either inspired by Gabriel or under his guidance, he let's his dads visually tell the story. So we the audience watch dramatic reenactments with each one taking a turn narrating. So we see Sam, Dean, and Cas recast according to how each one perceives the others.

Notably Dean makes Sam super short and Cas look like a stereotypical 80s movie NERD. Cas makes Sam incredibly random and nondescript because he doesn't pay him much mind and Dean is like a romance cover Fabio type. Everyone looks the same in Sam's version except his own hair is longer & he makes Dean and Cas act like an aggressively PDA couple.

I love getting unaccompanied minors (kids flying alone) who so clearly just. Don't want to be here lol. Sometimes I get to know a little of their story, like their parents are divorced, or a family member died and they're heading to the funeral, but usually they just don't want to talk about it and that's fine. But I always treat the flight like it's a challenge to make them smile. I offer them snacks and soda but that's never enough, that's whatever, they could get those from an airport vending machine. Chump change. So then I tell the worst jokes. Just the most embarrassing, kindergarten teacher, annoying dad jokes you can think of. And those always get a groan, or a "Seriously??" And that's my in! Now I can say "Why, what's your idea of a good joke? No, come on hotshot, make your best joke, let's see it." And they hem and they haw but of course they eventually tell me their very best joke because kids are little competitive comedy goldmines. And it's always super funny, so I laugh, and that's where they slip up. Because you know what you almost always do when your joke successfully makes someone laugh? You smile. And I'm like. Gotcha. Rookie move. Now you're going to end up having a good time in spite of yourself. I win.

Guess what?!!

🚨 It’s time to start worrying about the 2022 and 2024 elections. 🚨

(Yeah. We really gotta do this. It's... not looking great.)

Long story short:

Republicans have been working hard since the 2020 election to enact voter suppression laws, overturn election results, and set themselves up to steal the 2024 presidential election if necessary.

You’ve probably heard about the Georgia voter suppression law. But did you know that “Stop the Steal” conspiracy theorist Republicans are running to be election officials like Secretary of State in several swing states, setting themselves up to overturn future elections? They are dismantling democracy before our eyes.

So what’s the worst case scenario?

...Well, let’s start with the realistic scenario.

Republicans are likely to take back the House in 2022. They are possibly capable of doing it through gerrymandering alone. Is it possible for Democrats to keep the House? Yes, but it will take a huge effort.

Republicans could also win back the Senate since it's currently 50-50 and Democrats only have a narrow majority because we won the presidency.

Even if Republicans only win back the House, the Biden administration would legislatively accomplish very little from 2022-2024. Republicans would have the power to impeach Biden for no reason and cause another constitutional crisis, enable gerrymandering and voter suppression laws, and block any Democratic priorities from becoming law (gun control, climate change, and healthcare are just a few things that would be off the table entirely).

Then comes 2024.

Donald Trump is the most likely Republican candidate to run and win in 2024. In a recent poll (May 2021), 66% of Republicans indicated that they would vote for Trump again.

Yes, Trump can run even if he’s indicted on criminal charges. He can run even if he’s in prison!

Remember, although Biden won by 7 million votes, it was really a difference of about 44,000 votes in three swing states that prevented Trump from winning the Electoral College and becoming president again. That is a frighteningly small margin.

Even if the candidate isn’t Trump, this is still going to be a close election. 85% of Republicans say they would vote for a Trump-aligned candidate (same poll as above).

If Republicans win back or maintain control of Congress in 2024, this could set up an even more dangerous scenario:

The House has the power to choose the president if Congress does not award 270 electoral votes to either candidate.

How could that happen? Well, those "Stop the Steal" Republican election officials in swing states could refuse to certify the election, claiming fraud, and a close election could end up with neither candidate getting enough electoral votes. House Republicans could literally choose the next president without any input from voters and effectively end American democracy as we know it.

Because you know that Republicans will never let go of that power once they have it.

This is not far-fetched.

This is a realistic, highly likely scenario that will happen if we don’t do something to prevent it. Journalists and election experts are trying to sound the alarm, and we should listen:

The only way to prevent this from becoming reality is to fight like hell against it. And I know we just did that in 2018 and 2020. But this fight isn't over until we restore and protect our democracy.

This isn’t about how much you like Biden & Harris, or even if you’re a Democrat in general. It’s about saving democracy in America.

What can we do about it?

Unfortunately, it’s going to be an uphill battle. But if we all engage in this fight, then we can make a difference.

TLDR, we need to raise awareness about the threat to democracy, encourage Democrats to end the filibuster and pass H.R.1 immediately, and organize, organize, organize to get voters back out there in 2022 and 2024.

Specific ways to help & additional resources below the cut.

How to help:

National Level:

*High priority: Call your Democratic Senator(s) right now and tell them to pass H.R.1, the For the People Act, with urgency.

*High priority: Call your Democratic Senator(s) right now and tell them that you are strongly in favor of ending the filibuster (Especially if your Senator is Manchin or Sinema.)

Call your Democratic Senator(s) and tell them to vote for the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.

Call your Republican Senator(s) and tell them you are in favor of all of the above, especially if you live in a swing state.

State Level:

*High priority: Find out who is running for state legislature and other positions that have control over elections, such as Secretary of State. Donate or volunteer for their campaigns. Spread the word amongst your family and friends and make sure they know who to vote for and the date of the election.

If no one is running against the Republican, consider running! I’m not joking. Or if you know someone who is qualified and/or interested in running, encourage them to do so.

Local Level:

*High priority: Same as on the state level: Find out who is running and support the person who is supporting democracy. Local election officials can have a huge impact, especially in swing states and counties. Spread the word about this candidate, the election date, registering to vote, where to vote, etc.

Again, if no one is running, consider running! Incumbents often stay in power because they are unchallenged. And a local position is a great way to get involved in politics and help your community.

Additional ways to help:

Make sure you are registered to vote.

Check in with 3 friends/family members and help them register to vote if they are not already.

Send reminders to friends/family to vote on Election Day - not just in November, but for special elections, local elections, etc.

Volunteer with a group specifically working to help progressives win elections: SwingLeft, EMILY’s List, etc.

Donate to the candidates you support early and often! One of the reasons Democratic House candidates struggled in 2020 was that a lot of money came in at the last minute. Donating early and/or on a monthly basis ensures that they have the funds to run a long, successful campaign.

The past day has been a painful day for indigenous people in Canada.

(Along with other indigenous groups around the world, as this issue goes much deeper than just Canada.)

If you haven’t heard, which you may not have if you live outside of Canada or avoid news like I often do, the formerly largest residential school in Canada was searched. On the grounds they made a discovery. 

The remains of 215 children, some as young as three, were found in a mass grave on the school’s land. 

This is an incredibly horrible discovery for indigenous people in Canada. Over 4000+ children were previously thought to have died in residential schools here, but now the number has increased. Not only that, but this brings a question to the forefront of many’s minds- how many more are there, undocumented and left unknown? 

The school in question, Kamloops Residential School, at one point had an enrollment as high as 500 (and enrollment for students was, at a time, mandatory. Parents who refused would face jail time). It was open until the 1970s, and under the Catholic church’s lead until the 1960s. Many survivors have come out in the past years and talked about the abuse they faced there- physical, emotional, sexual. They have spoken of horrors they endured, and how many students would go missing suddenly, and never return. Often, they were assumed to have run away. However, this discovery tells the grim truth- that they were killed, whether by negligence, abuse, disease, etc.,- they were killed under the watch of this system, set up by the government of Canada. 

To note, this is not a new concept about residential schools. Many accounts have detailed children in the schools having to dig the graves for their peers themselves, and the abuse that was faced is no longer a secret. 

However. 

This now turns eyes on the government, and many are asking a burning question: “Why is more not being done?” The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada put together a list of 94 things that needed to be done, to promote healing of the indigenous peoples of Canada. Many indigenous groups have pointed out how of these 94 items, very few have been worked on. The Catholic Church has yet to formally apologize for what was carried out by their own in these schools. Many people still believe these horrors should be removed from the school curriculum. Many refuse to acknowledge that residential schools were apart of a bigger picture- genocide. 

I am hurting. My people are hurting. We are actively being hurt to this day, with indigenous people being 10x more likely to be shot by police than a white person. We make up a very large portion of those in the prison system, yet make up a small percentage of Canada as a whole. My people, to this day, have their children wrongfully taken from them by a system designed to work against us and profile us, seemingly nothing being learned from the many atrocities committed at the hands of the government in both the 60′s scoop, the residential school system, and many more accounts. Indigenous women and girls are still going missing at an alarmingly high rate. The violence against us is high. 

We are still actively being discriminated against, by the government, by the people who participate in these systems, by ignorance and blind hatred. 

Please, I am begging you, if you are not indigenous and have the means to speak out, DO IT. We are dying. We are being abused. We are still being hurt every day. We are still being brushed under the rug. We scream, but we are not heard. We NEED people of other races, especially those in places of privilege, to speak with us, to bolster our voices, to raise awareness and call for action. There is still so much work needing to be done, there is still so much healing and change needed and yet to come. If you cannot speak out for safety reasons or otherwise, I understand. Your safety comes first. But if you have the means, I urge you to educate yourself on indigenous issues in Canada and other places. Please do not allow us to continue to be ignored.
