It’s been one year since we escaped the real world together and imagined ourselves someplace simpler. With tall tall trees and salt air. Where you’re allowed to wear lace nightgowns that make you look like a Victorian ghost every day & no one will side eye you cause no one is around. It’s just you and your imaginary cabin and the stories you make up to pass the time. To say thank you for all you have done to make this album what it was, I wanted to give you the original version of The Lakes. Hey y'all, hope you are all doing great. I have been gone for a long time for many reasons and I hate to come here and talk about this stuff.

Tumblr for me (and many of us) is a safe space and here is where I can vent anything I want and feel comfortable doing it.

These months have been pretty (normal) and okay for me and my family, but you know, the pandemic is not over and who when it is gonna be. And so, my family and I are struggling again with paying bills, affording food or medicines or water, and it's literally almost impossible to have a job where you earn enough money to afford all we need, we live in Venezuela and it just doesn't get better, ever.

My dad has been unemployed for the last couple of weeks and I'm praying we can find a way to survive. I know we will but it doesn't get easier or less stressful.

Hope you don't mind or get sick of me for doing this... I really wish (with every part of me) I didn't have to.

I am that leaf falling the first days of autumn, the one that the first seconds admire and truly means something in that minute moment. I am the one who is not enough to shape the autumn and in minimal moments it ends up without any purpose lying on the ground of a long and populated street.

I'm not enough. At least not these days, not the last ten years of my life. I try so hard to become that trunk full of meaning and utility through the seasons, but I just can't do it. I am the leaf without meaning that only finds its beauty when it dies and falls each fall.
