Not trying to jump on you here –– because I respect however you feel about it, but I just have a legitimate question! Why do you feel that gender-bends are gross? I don't really care for them much myself, but I never thought of them as gross. So I was honestly just wanting to know what your opinion was if that's alright? XD

I’d prefer you talked to me about this off anon if you want to discuss it, but to keep it brief, people should know that as a transgender person I feel that it erases transgender experiences and equates sex to gender (e.g. “MY version has a VAGINA, so MY version is a GIRL!”) which is very cissexist and gross. There is a lot of information about this floating around on the internet that you can look into if you’re legitimately interested in it. 

Also: an easy alternative to “gender bending” (which is gross) is just having a trans headcanon. (For example, if you for some reason wanted to play Steve Rogers as a woman, you could easily make Steve a trans woman, allowing you to play the character presenting and identifying as female without erasing transgender experiences or coming across as cissexist – which, by the way, you WILL to a good majority of your audience that are trans or aware of trans issues). 

Please don’t send me messages arguing with me about this/hating me for this. If you hate me having feelings and opinions about things that do, in fact, affect me that much, just unfollow me.
