hi! i was wondering what you code in, specifically for your templates? is it vscode?

heya! yeah i mostly use vscode, though i did code carnificare in atom (frankly no idea why i chose to do that i was in a silly goofy mood and iirc atom isn't actively maintained). if im just trying to hash out the basic look of a thing though i most likely do it in codepen or jsfiddle first

blood4blood is a short, adult (18+) interactive fiction game where you play as a butch lesbian vampire out for blood on valentine's day night.

features two routes: the butch or the femme. very minor customization (name, jacket choice) and overall a more linear experience with only a few flavor choices. this game does also feature two nsfw illustrations, so head's up!

Announcing the Queer Vampire IF Jam!

This is a month-long game jam that will run from January 10 - February 20th. The goal of this jam is to create more interactive fiction games about queer vampires, focusing both on queer relationships and queer experiences as told through a vampiric narrative.

JAM RULES:

Your project must focus on queer characters and vampires. Queer relationships, romantic or platonic, as well as other queer experiences, whether gay, lesbian, bisexual, ace, aro, trans and nonbinary - this is an inclusive jam. 

You can write from a human or vampire perspective (or both!)

This jam will accept any medium, so long as the work is an Interactive Fiction.

This jam will accept adult content as well as games covering heavy & uncomfortable topics, but please be sure to properly list trigger warnings either in-game or on the game page.

Entries that promote any kind of bigotry will not be accepted.

Games should not include any AI generated content.

You can submit as many entries as you'd like.

You are allowed to start working on your project early! That's why I'm announcing it now. This jam is unranked and it's not a contest, this is just for fun.

Submissions open midnight, January 10th EST. They'll close February 20th at 11:59pm EST.

Hello! Regarding your Twine template, is it possible for me to create a light mode version? Like something that I can toggle in the settings to switch different modes? Thank you in advance!

shouldn't be a problem! the setting.addtoggle and setting.addlist options on the documentation have examples on how to add those to the settings dialogue, though you'll still have to add in the style individually to your css

hi cer! i don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but i am an absolute dummy when it comes to coding and i'm currently using your sugarcube template, soooo my question is: how do i hide the entire ui bar? i'm trying to make a "main menu" or "loading screen" of some sort (like, the ones that tell u "tap anywhere to continue") and i'm SKRUGGLING. .. i tried following this: https://idrellegames.tumblr.com/post/661991857770872832/so-i-had-a-coding-question-that-ive-been-trying but i'm still lost. help please o kind sir :(

hey anon! i’m ngl i don’t remember how i set up the template specifically, but here’s how i normally do it.

create a new passage (or use ur existing starting passage, idk)

add the following directly to the passage to hide the ui bar. <style>#header { pointer-events: none; opacity: 0; }</style>

add a link to your next page or whatnot.

the code snippet there basically 1. disables clicks to the ui 2. makes it transparent to hide it - which helps to hide it without actually removing the element, so that other parts of the screen don’t move along with it. you could also use display:none; to remove it entirely if you prefer that though.

you can probably streamline it more - create a macro or a tag that calls that code snippet to hides the ui automatically - but it’s a little more complex. happy to walk you through it (you can message me off anon and i’ll dm you over discord or something) but tumblr’s ask box is not the greatest at handling code-related qns LOL

hiiii!! so sorry to bother u but i'm currently using ur twine template - love it btw - but for some reason the choices appear red before i even hover? red like the color of the accent. and for some reason i also can't use the apostrophe symbol when i write the choices for some reason :< it always errors idk why other than that its all good!!!

heyo! without a screenshot i can't be certain, but red (whatever shade it might be) will either be the accent (as you said) which is a signal that the text is a link or an error for a missing page. apostrophes also need to be escaped when writing choices i believe - can't remember the specifics off the top of my head but there should be more details on how to do that in the twine docs about that if you search it up

Blood Choke Chapter 3 is now available!

Spend your day with Hana, Valentina, or Clear, and deal with the potential fallout from your night at the club. And, of course, meet with the council...

You will have to replay from the beginning. The code has been updated as well as additions made to the character creator; certain scenes will not trigger correctly if you try to play from a save.

This added around 100,000 words to the demo. Some various changes have been made, including:

Fixed an error at the end of chapter 2 where Hana and the mc magically teleported into the backroom with Valentina and Clear.

Added some flavor text acknowledging Hana's scratched face in the parking lot.

Added the option for the player to select mc's race.

Enlarged the default text size.

Corrected a handful of typos.

Content Warning: Explicit sexual content - there is no option to skip or fade to black. Discussion of racism (all routes), discussion of sexual assault (all routes), discussion of gender & gender dysphoria (all routes), transphobia (Hana's route), blood & blood consumption, violence.
