“Okay,” Shinsou whispered to himself before pulling the complex door open. “Are you gonna be alright tonight?” Kaminari paired his inquiry with an outstretched hand and an advancing step. Shinsou’s eyes dragged from Kaminari’s face to his hand. “Yeah,” he said lowly, “I’ll be alright.”

@shinkamiweek2021 Day 1: Childhood Friends

The first time I said it, was the day that we first held hands.

We made promises when we were 8 surrounded by flowers, underneath the sun.

All my friends told me that I had it bad...but when it comes to you, I guess it's true.

My friends also knew, that I swear one day I'd marry you.

I've been saying this for years,

but actually marrying you for real still felt so surreal.

Yes, EraserMic are at the parents side because they're best friends with Hitoshi's mom and they're Hitoshi's unofficial dads. Eri's on the siblings side because she's EraserMic's adopted daughter and basically Hitoshi's little sister at this point.

Shinkami week day 1

Childhood friends + quirk shenanigans

Kaminaris quirk came in first.

It started as feeling like static shock almost every time they touched. It quickly started hurting though. So kaminari hid away afraid that he would hurt shinsou.

Shinsou would find kaminari every time he did (hes a terrible hider) and put a giant blanket on him

Shinsou wouldnt wrap it around kami. Hed attempt to bundle it in his tiny arms and proceed to drop it on him and hug him, telling him the shocks didnt hurt anymore.

Shinsou is hugging more blanket than kaminari but it always made kami feel better

Theyd stay like that till it got too hot

Kami was an extremely touchy child while shinsou was reluctant to high five. But when kamis quirk came in most kids wouldnt touch him anymore cause no one wanted to get shocked.

Shinsou wanted to help but he didnt really want to get shocked either so he asked his parents what to do

They told him about different insulators and shinsou asked them to buy him rubber gloves so he could hold kaminaris hand

(They couldnt find any small ones so he got those dish cleaning gloves which were way too big)

He gave kami one of the gloves after a while so he could hold the other kids’ hands like he used to but shinsou still likes holding his hand. Which goes until they’re first years in hs when shinsous crush gets worse

When shinsous quirk came in he didnt realize what he was doing. When they did figure it out almost immediately kids stopped talking to him. Even adults were wary.

Kaminari still kept talking to him though. Even when shinsou accidentally used his quirk on him kami would always laugh it off.

From early elementary through middle school kami would fight literally anyone who called shinsou or his quirk villainous

Usually itd be loudly proclaiming what a great hero shinsou would be while sending the person a threatening look behind a too happy smile

If they didnt back down after the look hed verbally tear them apart. It was brutal

A few times he got in physical fights over it too. Only a couple were at school so those were the only ones he got in trouble with but there were many, many more after school was over.

Shinsou acts embarrassed over the first 2 and always scolds kami for the physical fights, making sure they never get very far, but secretly he loves it. He loves that kami stands up for him like this.

And as much as he hates to admit it, watching kami throw punches for him is one of his favorite things to see in middle school

Dadzawa would definitely disapprove of kaminari when he learns about shinsous crush for getting into those fights. But he warmed up the second he found out why he was in them

DadMic ain’t even subtle about shipping them
