Maybe you can work with @negativelegend to make a "What is Nordic Manga" video? Talking about the different ones and they can throw in "subtle" hints that they can be filled into the survey over at Seven Seas Entertainment..! This just if both of you want to of course! Even though it might not look like it from the outside, my publisher is working very hard to make the best promo opportunities happen for me and the others, and this year they even got a PR team involved! We also have agents working in different countries to help us get translation deals, and whenever I suggest a publisher to them, they report back that they're already in touch😂

So right now I just lean back and work hard on book 4 while knowing that Egmont is doing an amazing job at promoting my work <3

(Of course, if a youtube or podcaster contacts me I'll consider doing it, but I'm not gonna go around asking for it, at least not now that I have my hands very full trying to finish book 4 for an early fall release!)

Dragens Øye 1: exciting but too much happens at once and the first chapter is rather confusing as there's so much happening at once.

Dragens Øye 2: We meet new key players in the story like Bjarki, Jomar, Ulf, and Torlak, but doesn't feel like the story is really moving much forward

Dragens Øye 3: here the story is really moving forward and many new characters (Markus final boss? Major character maybe dead? D:) , and closer look at how the story thus far has affected them, I love it! Except for the death though, rewind that.

Also I just noticed. So since I moved between book 1&2 and because of covid and life™, book 1 is still in a box... Because of book 3... The spines are going to make a rainbow aren't they? ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💓😄

Are you going to go roggbif (the most colorful of all steaks) or roggtblm?

I don't like stories that take too long to get properly started, so book 1 has a lot happening very quickly. But if I were to re-write it now I'd make a whole book out of just the 1st and 2nd chapter. Then shorten the fight in book 2 to merge it with the remaining bits of book 1. Maybe in a year or two, I'll see things I'd I wish I had done differently with book 3 as well. Live and learn and improve! Dragens Øye is going to be an amazing comic as a whole, but I hope my next comic is even better!

And, yes, the spines will make a rainbow at the end! But since I only have 6 books planned, it's going to be the basic old pride rainbow. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🏳️‍🌈

I read dragens øye nr3 two days ago and i still think about it and smile :3 its definetly my fav norwegian comic of all time

Omg, thank you so much!! I swear, being a published comic artist/author is so weird. I spend a year making a book and then it's out and people read it, but most people don't tell me about it, so I'm just sitting here like "???? did people like it??? no idea, let's make another!" so it just absolutely makes my day whenever someone tells me they read it and enjoyed it!!

I’m late to the party but I just saw your dysphoria comic and it was like looking in a mirror. It is so validating. I am always super hesitant to think about myself that way because I feel like it’s not enough to define it that way and I don’t want to appropriate or cheapen what trans people feel. But I do weightlifting and have literally that haircut and I’m actually hopefully getting a breast reduction this year. So thank you for letting me know that it’s ok to think more about my gender I guess. Weird that I felt like I needed permission.

If you need more validation just check out the replies and tags! There's lots of people out there who feel exactly the way we do <3

There are a couple of terfs in there, but there's also people dunking on them!

I hurt my leg so I can't go to the library and borrow the newest book... And it suddenly went up for me! I don't remember the name of Jomar's father because of the memes... Because of the memes I just remember "Dragon daddy" and it bothers me that I can't remember no matter how much I try 😭

Hello! do you think you will ever release Dragens Øye in danish or english? i cant read norwegian super well unfortunately ;; sorry if youve gotten this question already i genuinely dont remember if ive sent it before ajkrlfjkklr

Danish release: Good news, this one already exists! I don't know why they made the title black on the cover, but I have this at home and the inside looks great!

English release: My Norwegian publisher and their/our US agent are working on it! I went to New York in December to meet some potential publishers and stuff, but these things take ages. But it might actually help if people who want to read my books just email US publishers and tell them you’d buy these books if they published them. I’ve heard a few stories of that working! Similar books to mine have been published by oni press and wonderbound, and I think top shelf productions might be a good fit too.

When I first wanted to read Dragens Øye, I ordered the first book from Outland and discovered it was signed when I received it.

With book three I was constantly on the lookout for it and *still* missed the window between release and when it was sold out. Now I can't find it anywhere and my feet are sore from looking.

If that's not growth and a glowing review of the series I don't know what is!

It's not sold out, it just hasn't arrived at the stores yet! 😅

I know the websites all said it'd be out on the 5th, but that's the date when the books would arrive at the main warehouse and start being shipped to the bookstores (I got mine then because they send a handful to the publisher with express shipping). I'm signing the preorders on Monday, so Norli Universitetsgata will have them by then at least! Then all the other bookstores will follow, a couple of hours or days later.

i’m a person of color and i legit cried when i read your comic. it means so much to me so i shared it with my friends and they felt the same way — seen for the first time. it’s your work and you can do as you like with it but my god anyone saying it’s racist or whatever needs to get their head out of their you know what.

2022 sure was a year.

I went to Svalbard and New York, got 2 new tattoos, published 2 books, had cancer (cervical, I'm fine now), started lifting more than my own bodyweight, went to 3 amazing concerts (Ghost, Avantasia and Battle Beast) and started doing karate again! I also severely overbooked myself yet somehow caught up on all the work I didn't do while my brain was preoccupied with cancer-thoughts. Hoping 2023 will be less high paced (haha, as if. Book 4 is scheduled for release in August ✌🏻) and hopefully the year I finally delete dating apps off my phone!

I headcanon Kha as intersex and the world they live in doesn't judge them unlike this one..! By the way, what is the world the series takes place in called? Sorry if I missed it...

No worries, they've never mentioned the name of the world in the books! But it's called Tavarsia.

This is a headcanon I'm very fine with. Unlike the 9 year old kid who came up to me and asked if Kha was a boy or a girl, and I said "neither, Kha is non-binary" and she was like "Hmmm... no. Kha is a boy to me." >:C You can headcanon Kha with whatever genitals you want, but they're still not a boy or girl!!

But yeah, intersex people would not be judged in Tavarsia!

It's also a trans-friendly world.

So Kha was blinded on one eye, but do they or any of the other characters have any other illnesses/disabilities? For example, what is the chronic illness Kha has that their mother halted by sacrificing herself?

This is definitely an area where I should work to get more inclusive in my comics!

Ulf is missing an arm, but I don't think most readers notice since he's always wearing long flowy sleeves. He wears a full sleeve over the missing arm too because sometimes he makes a magic arm if he needs to do anything that requires two arms and has the extra magic for it. But since he's a pretty minor character we still haven't seen him do it. In book 4 we'll see how he lost his arm though!

Ranja sort of has social anxiety when it comes to going into populated areas, but that's rooted in her curse. She does go into a city in book 3, but would never have done that without her emotional support elf (Kha).

I don't have a name for Kha's illness and haven't thought about the specifics of it either. It was inspired mainly by the question "how long would you have survived in medieval times?" and for me, the answer is "a few weeks", probably. I was very ill as a child. A bit of asthma, a bit of "randomly stops breathing once in a while", and a bit of chronic pain in my legs.

I'm experiencing something similar from the other end of the gender spectrum (man-adjacent blob?) and it's been hell trying to put how that feels into something coherent. You really helped.
