something that i think most leftists fundamentally do not understand is this: the basic seed of white supremacism is not and has never been “white people are good and everyone else is bad”. the basic seed of white supremacism has always been “white people are capable and everyone else is incapable”. when explicit arguments in favor of white supremacy are put forth, they are almost always take this form. never “white people are the kindest and the most virtuous” always “white people have achieved, they have conquered, where no others have”. this is why the liberal idpol thing of “all badness in the world is the result of european imperialism” actually more or less supports a white supremacist narrative. sure, the value judgements are different, but the basic belief that white people are the driving force of history is almost identical. stop it! this shit is not helpful!

An entire report on racism in the health care system of BC had to be written because of some evil nurses playing a version of "the price is right" in emergency rooms where they tried to guess the blood alcohol level of indigenous people coming in seeking medical treatment. That kind of racialized "oh they're just addicts looking for a fix" mix of malice and medical neglect has killed multiple people. Including Brian Sinclair and Joyce Echaquan. Nurses are no less culpable for murdering vulnerable people than others with institutional power over vulnerable and marginalized people and I'm fed up with people relying on boogeyman stereotypes they parrot about drug users and mentally ill people to justify institutional violence.

Gaslighting is active manipulation to make someone question their sanity, memory, or perception of reality. It’s not lying, remembering something differently, or disagreeing with someone.

You fanfiction people are insane. Y'all will say shit like "I hate writing original fiction, I prefer it when the characters have an established dynamic." And then headcannon the characters to where their dynamic is completely different.

honestly really upsetting to see people be like “wow what a surprise alec baldwin killing a person he was always a dick anyway” or worse present any aspect of the shooting in a meme-y way when like. a real woman - halyna hutchins - died due to unsafe working conditions and everyone involved has said alec wasn’t told the gun was loaded… there’s a really big difference between being an asshole and a murderer and there’s no reason for a gun being used as a prop to be capable of killing anyone

So at what point does "men are inherently evil" and being pro-transgender become compatible? Even if you're one of the absolute geniuses that think trans women are good but trans men are bad?
What is it about men that makes them evil? Is it their biology? The way their brain is wired? Is it their identity? Their masculinity?
At what point, then, does a trans woman become good? At birth? When she discovers she is a woman? When she comes out? When she transitions?
At what point does a trans man become bad? At birth? When he discovers he is a man? When he comes out? When he transitions?
What about non-binary people? What about femme boys? Butch women? What inherent qualities of womanhood and manhood affect them?
The thing is this line of questioning in and of itself is very presumptuous and not really compatible with transness as we see it today. Being a radfem is absolutely incompatible with being pro-transgender rights. If all men are trash you are, inherently, going to have to tangle with bio-essentialism. And in that case, if you're transgender, then you've already lost.

i feel like we need to stop uplifting gay media that is unapologetically transphobic. idk personally i'm hesitant to call any gay media revolutionary when it steps on the backs of trans people.
