I got my financial aid approval email this morning. Ngl, the anxiety-riddled part of me was hoping it would be denied, so I could just be like, “Welp, at least I tried!” 🤣
Don’t mind me, I’ll just be over here freaking out.

A new month is a great time to start new habits, so for February I’m going to do the 30 Day Challenge, a No Buy month, read daily, and journal daily.
For decluttering, the 30 Day Challenge has you remove one item on the first, and add one item for each day. I’ll be doing either one item or one type of item, so today I purged some of my mugs. I’m also doing a digital purge alongside it, each day I’ll do something to clean up/organize/simplify my digital life, so today I deleted a couple of Instagram accounts I felt like I needed to make but lost interest in actually posting to as I tried to focus on the things I actually care about in life.
I figured a No Buy month would go well with the decluttering challenge. I’m specifying buying rather than spending, because with a large family, sometimes things come up unexpectedly that you can’t avoid spending money for, but I can absolutely control my own spending habits. So I won’t buy myself anything that isn’t a real need, which will hopefully help lead into more thoughtful spending in the future.

I was trying to watch s5 of Outlander, but the Bonnet plot line was giving me way too much anxiety, and school is giving me enough so a rewatch of Downton Abbey is in order.

My monstera has been looking a bit worse for wear, I think I may have overwatered it as the leaves are going a bit brown but like, inside? So I let it dry right out before watering again, and gave it a bit less than I normally would. It also looks like there might be a few pests hanging out on it, but a soapy wash and daily inspections seem to be controlling whatever it is. Either way, it’s shooting out a new leaf, so whatever is going on can’t be that bad LOL
I also seem to have almost completely killed my trandescantia, but managed to save three cuttings, and monitoring room temp, careful watering, and running the humidifier beside it seems to be keeping the new growth looking okay. It’s a struggle, in the summer all the plants were doing fine, but once winter hit and the air dried out they all started getting upset. Except the anglaonema, that thing has lost maybe three or four of it’s oldest leaves, but otherwise seems happy as can be 🤣

I have SO much anxiety around submitting school work that I almost can’t bring myself to do it. Even tho I’ve gotten good marks in my previous two assignments, and done well in the past when I put in as much effort as I am now, I’m still terrified of failing and getting negative feedback. And when I do get my assignments back, I struggle to actually read the comments. Siiiiigh.

Every time I try and decide on a schedule for school, business stuff, cleaning, etc, I inevitably end up having flare days in the middle of what I’d hoped would be productive time. I think it might be best if I just aim to work as much as I can on good days, and hope for the best LOL
Also it would be a lot easier if I could get a response to my student aid application, it’s hard to plan if I don’t know what’s going to happen in a month.

I thought I would have four months to finish my current course before the next ones start, but I miscounted and it turns out I only had three, and two have passed. Good thing in-person school has restarted, I need to pick up the pace and it’s much easier when the house is quiet 🤣

FRITH!
🌲🌲🌲
The foundation upon which my faith is, a Norse concept that could be defined as “Extending hospitality, respect, and peace to all people”. And I truly do attempt to base each day on these words. To be an ally to those who need them, to be an advocate for environmental protection, and to do my best to be the kindest person I can be 😊
🌲🌲🌲
These stickers are now listed in my Etsy shop! Link is in my bio!
🌲🌲🌲
[ID: A circular sticker with a three inch diameter, colored in varying shades of red. The words on the sticker read “Frith: Extending Respect, Hospitality, and Peace to All”.]

This isn't related to Hellenismos but the Heathen Coalition is a SPLC-registered hate group and Dawn Thomas, its head, runs an Etsy (BrisingamenBoutique). Do not buy from her.

My top heavy, leaning aloe plant I was hoping would last til spring for repotting fell today and broke 3 leaves 😭 Forced me to repot it, even in a deeper pot it still was leaning so I had to use a skewer to support it til gardening supplies reappear here so I can get some bamboo poles. Apparently you can propogate the leaves, so I’m going to attempt that.
Also, my original satin pothos (that is 3 stems in one pot) got so long several leaves were fully laying on the floor, so I moved it to the top of a large bookshelf as I currently have 5 baby props and a second large pot, so I really don’t need more cuttings 🤣 Moving the first pot opened the space for the second larger pot, so it’s not touching the floor now either. The two were pretty woven together, it actually took a few tries over a couple weeks to untangle them without damage.
I should probably do a write up of my plant babies, I have a bunch now LOL
