I’m not sure I’ll ever actually recover from Wataru’s response in Tempest. Like yes, we all know that post Ep:Link Wataru is revealing his true self to Eichi more, as he reminds us in the previous scene by explaining his trick with the wind and his hair, but THIS. This is just so starkly different. This isn’t Wataru choosing to reveal his real feelings and true self to Eichi. This has all the appearance of a GENUINE slip up. A crack in the impenetrable facade that Wataru so fiercely prides himself in. And obviously his expression and the utter bluntness of his words suggest this, but it’s more the fact that TORI is present for this that really shows to me that this is a slip up. Tori is the member of fine that Wataru puts the clown act on around the most at this point. Say he did make a conscious choice to show Eichi that he was shocked and disbelieving that Eichi didn’t recognise that he loved Wataru (because come on. He does. Wataru, Tori, Yuzuru and Eichi himself even if he doesn’t fully understand the concept of love all say as much in SS and other stories here and there)- would he choose to react this plainly knowing Tori was witness to the display?? I don’t think so.

Anyway, my point is (because I probably had one of those… I just enjoy ranting about wataei) that Wataru was genuinely so bothered by Eichi revealing that he didn’t think he’d ever been in love that he actually forgot to keep up the act for a second. The fact no one reacts to this too is just. Hm. Interesting. I need to get inside their brains, what were Eichi and Tori thinking right then?? Did they hear Wataru, or did he react quietly enough that they sort of missed it?? If anything their lack of response further consolidates to me that WATARU DID NOT MEAN TO REVEAL HOW BOTHERED HE WAS.

Live laugh Wataei <3 my favourite love story ever. Wataru went in hoping to find something to do post-Eccentrics because he at least found Eichi interesting and whoopsie he fell utterly and irrevocably in love!!

Headcanon that Keito’s just finished randomly generating the room assignments and he’s already blocked Eichi and Rei on everything they can contact him on because he is not dealing with the fallout of that rooming arrangement, so he goes to bed content with his own situation- Hidaka and Shino are both reasonable, sensible roommates to coexist with- and expecting a relatively empty inbox in the morning, perhaps one or two minor issues raised.

He wakes up to 500 emails from Tomoya Mashiro and all of them read:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET ME SWAP WITH YOU PLEASE I’M BEGGING I’LL DO ANYTHING PLEASE LET ME TAKE YOUR PLACE PLEASEEEEEEE
