Yknow I get some pretty wild anons still over this post that I made probably within an hour of the news dropping that Henry had left the role so I would just like to add something to this, months later when I am no longer dramatically crying abt my comfort character being recast.

Initial reactions and emotions to anything in life are valid but not always necessarily a long term opinion or feeling. The aftermath and reactions to the recasting news were and still remain very hateful and disgusting by a lot of people in this fandom. The shitting on and boycotting of Season 3 despite Henry Cavill still being in this season is so wild to me, after sitting on and accepting the recasting I find it so incredibly disrespectful to the work every single actor including and extending beyond Henry put into making the show to wish for it to end or spectacularly fail. This show was the catalyst for some of these actor’s careers to take off, and to wish a series into failure over one single person leaving, main character or not (which btw if you don’t get by now that this is ciri’s story idk what to tell you) is so so disrespectful to every other characters story and the blood, sweat and tears their actors put into the roles. Some of you claim to be die hard book fans and simply wish death on the writers even in a season that in my opinion created a beautiful adaptation in s3 (note, ADAPTATION. if you want word for word from the bloody book pls just stick to the book).

Basically, boycotting this series over 1 actor is crazy. I have my own neurodivergent issues with physical changes to a lead actor but I will get over it 🥴 my initial point of not knowing whether the show will survive the recast still stands, but more because of the literal toxic ass people who have made it quite clear they are done with the show but continue to comment on every single thing to do with it on social media and go out of their way to still watch the show and give it low ratings for absolutely no other reason than insanity. You really want to ruin something people have put so much time and effort into, over one fucking white man. Ayyeeeee. Watch it, or don’t. Be done with it, or DON’T. You don’t have to make it your full time job to be a keyboard warrior set on taking down something you claim to no longer care for.

Whether or not you liked the Netflix show, whether you preferred the books, the game. Henry Cavill was Geralt. For that show, he was entirely perfect. This isn’t as simple as providing a replacement and carrying on the show. To me, the show now feels over. I am genuinely hurt and upset, and angry to a degree. I honestly don’t think the show can survive this, because fuck, this fandom is already on fire most of the time.
