It felt right. It felt warm, as if your going home after a long time.

"I can't believe you call it amateur now"

He explained to you why he decided to call it, and you understand it means a lot to him.

"There are so many things I want to tell you" — He told you. "But I want to know how you feel about me first. I don't want to put pressure on you or anything but-"

You kiss him and for that moment that was enough to make him understand.

"If you were going on a date. What would you be wearing?"— Hyunjin asks you.

So he does.

He invites you for dinner. You wonder if going out for coffee wouldn't be more comfortable,

You change your mind once you wear the dark blue spaghetti strap dress you never had the chance to wear. You love the fabric, the color and how it shapes your body. You never had the chance to wear it before there though.

You pair it with sandals and a baguette purse. It looks romantic. You felt romantic. It was great.

“Han speaks more than he should.” — You said it in a playful tone. Since Hyunjin wanted to give you a new watercolor painting, you had to keep in touch with him and his friend.

They were both adorable. In different ways, but still adorable.

You had to be honest with yourself. Hyunjin has been taking a huge part in your thoughts lately.

You hung out with him and Han sometimes, you went to a few cafés and art exhibitions sometimes. It always felt nice, they were funny and generous.

One day Han had canceled his plans to go out with you two.

So it was just you two :)

He had to paint something that made him think of you, as you asked.

Cobblestones and light poles.

People silhouettes and fair stands.

That’s what he thought the street looked like the day you took his painting home after finding it at his friend’s art stand.

The twilight sky. Coral, light blue, purple pink and dark blue in one sky. The transition of day and night. The beauty between them. That’s what he wanted.

He would not tell you the whole story. He didn’t want to mess it up. He wanted to get to meet you. He wanted to create a creal connection with you, he wanted you to feel the connection.

“Deep down, I always knew It was him. I always liked your father. I always loved the way he talked and how he smiled. He was so handsome, it felt like the room was filled with sunlight every time he came around. The weird thing is… It seemed like I was the only one who felt like that.”

“But how did you know he was your soulmate? The color thing, I mean.”

“I went home one day. The flower store near my old dorm. I saw orange. Then I saw every single color I could. I was wonderstruck. I knew who that was. I knew it was him. You just know it.

Blue.

Almost one shade before pitch black.

That one shade he never felt particularly fond of. He wouldn't really know it was blue if there was not a "dark night" written in the package.

He never hadn’t had the chance to use it in a long time.

There it was.

Dark blue. 2 a.m. sky blue.

Deep ocean blue.

What would he call it? It didn’t matter. He could see it. The color that sinalized he had met his soulmate.

Even when he painted skies. He always preferred daytime skies.

That was more of a midnight sky type of blue.

The type of blue he would use to enhance the stars.
