Been throwing paint at this for a few days. Just trying to capture some of that beautiful tallgrass prairie. 5 ft.²
If you look really close you can see the heart rock just blends into the background. I was trying to incorporate a little bit of a wave in the color.

I think we’ve made amazing progress in 30 hours of painting on this billboard size painting at Mark Arts. The clouds in the sky really taking shape and the under-painting is in place for the landscape. Thank you to everybody that’s coming out and saying hi and helping spread paint. It’s been a lot of fun I really missed seeing people. It’s nice to do something socially distance during Covid. And my God two great days of Kansas weather who can complain.

Sometimes the sticks I use to paint with become works of art by themselves. So I’m adding a heart rock to a few of these to give away as gifts. Help me grow my followers. Share my work tag a friend and I might send you a paint stick with a heart rock on it.

Mount Pedernal is just outside Ghost Ranch, Georgia O’keefe's home in New Mexico. This is a good example of artistic license when doing a commission. I always do two paintings so the customer can choose which one they like better. Then I’ll sell the other. But if you look at the third photograph which is what I was given to work from you can see there’s not a lot there. I searched for other images wanting to get the color of the rock in the landscape right. And then intensified it. What do you think?

Was commissioned to do a painting of Mt Pedernal in New Mexico. I love the oranges and reds in the rocks in the landscape. And the mountain rises right out of the desert. The only other thing of interest are the cholla cactus . What else do you think I should add?

Working on a painting of Mount Pedernal in New Mexico. The foreground is filled with the cholla cactus. Trying to splatter paint and use a stick to make the needles and flowers. What do you think? Is it working?

I’ve been busy trying to get all my projects done. Today’s was to make some thank you cards. I’m in love with printmaking because it allows for so much diversity in color. I try to send a thank you to everyone that buys a painting.
