—Vanitas nodded. “Anything, huh? This will get interesting.” 

His tastes in food were pretty random and different to say the least. From sun-dried tomatoes and BBQ sauce on a pizza with chicken to a spinach and artichoke dip pizza.  He could think of a few different varieties for them to try.  

When the tension rose again, along with the silence, he felt the moment become tense again. It was only then that he set down the menu and smiled at his ‘friend.’

However, he was stopped before he could do anything, their server walked over and set down two glasses of water.

"Hey guys, thanks for comin’ in. You ready to order?" 

Inwardly the raven grimaced. His plans would change a bit.

-/ He's about to say something - what, he doesn't know yet, but probably something stupid - just to break the silence but the server that stops by brings a blessing upon him. He quickly thanks any higher power that may be up there for making things less awkward, at least for a moment. Even though he knows the situation will return the minute they walk away.

At the mention of making an order he makes a vague gesture towards Vanitas, giving him a silent cue of, 'it's your choice'. He's actually looking forward to seeing what the other is going to order - nothing ventured nothing gained, especially in the realm of food. /-

-/ At first, he tries to think of it as coincidence, the fingertips trailing along the underside of his wrist.  

But when the crumpled up dollar bill and assorted coins left his hand to return to their owner, but the hand did not retreat, he knew it wasn’t coincidence.  

A quick glance down revealed that his sleeve had ridden up just enough to reveal more to the public than he wished. He just wanted to jerk his hand away and tell this guy to leave but god knows he’s been chastised more than once for being ‘rude’ to customers. 

There’s a forced smile on his face and his head is tilted just enough to seem friendly, but his eyes are stone cold and portraying a different message all together. He draws his arm back and quickly adjusts his sleeves, before fiddling with the register in an attempt to look busy. /-

-/ And when he said anything, he really did mean anything.  He's tried most pizza topping combinations under the sun.  Pineapple, olives, and pepperoni when Sora was sleep deprived and feeling extra goofy.  An anchovy and garlic pizza he shared with a very pregnant friend who craved some pretty weird stuff. And then there was the time when he was really drunk and thought that pickles and chicken sounded like amazing things to put on a pizza. 

He leaned back in his chair and once again took to pulling at the string in his pocket, suddenly out of things to say and feeling awkward all over again. /-

—— Vanitas walked into the restaurant, gauging Roxas’ actions. He spoke with the hostess at the podium by the door, thus getting them a table to relax and eat a great meal.

He turned his attention to Roxas, motioning for him to follow him. “Come on, Roxas. Time to get a table.” 

Just as the other seemed curious, he was just as interested if not curious in his own thoughts concerning the blond. He wanted to learn more about him and to find out just why he was so quiet at times. 

-/ He's grateful that the place isn't crowded, and that he and Vanitas can just eat in moderate peace and quiet without the worry of unwelcome ears overhearing any bits of conversation not meant to be heard by the public. He smiles at gives a 'thank you' to the hostess as he takes a seat at the table- he knows from experience that a nice customer makes a waiter or waitresses' job a whole hell of a lot easier. 

The smell of food in the air reminds him that he hadn't had time, or the money, for lunch on campus and that he's about ready to eat every particle of food in this place.  

He smirks as his own stupid mental thought. One of his few skills - eating inhuman amounts while staying way too skinny. /-

You know, I hope you didn't think one pizza's gonna do it, because it's not. At all.  But you're paying so you get to pick toppings.
