The Game
I had watched quite on set and tbh it left me in a dark state. I understand the frustration that those kids had to go through and to be honest their show was an escape from my own reality. My safety net for many years had burned up and went into smoke. I have so many questions and have so much resentment towards the creators. It's not fair to anyone!
A while ago I found a good deal on some That '70s Show scripts, and I impulsively bought them! It was well worth it. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them and noticing the differences between the table read script and what actually aired.
This week's script: S7xE8 "Angie" (note that it is episode 707 on the script 👀... production order vs airing order). This script is very similar to what aired, but I've noted the differences for you below 😊🧐
The first difference occurs during the cold open, in W.B.'s office. This exchange about the missing $3 between Eric, Donna, and Jackie didn't make it into the final cut:
Next was this moment of gossip between Kitty and Fez at the hair salon:
This scene between Hyde, Angie, and W.B. was slightly different:
Next is this brief moment with the gang in the basement. Eric tries to feel them out by mentioning skating/dancing to Donna Summers, and Hyde says that makes him want to kick Eric's ass.
In this script, Kelso joins in on that burn and implies that he and Hyde used to kick Eric's ass when they were younger, but stopped. That detail is omitted in the episode that aired. (I'm personally glad that line was omitted - it would've changed the past characterization of Eric and Hyde's friendship, however slight.)
Next in the same scene, Angie arrives. Jackie gives Angie a backhanded compliment but tells her she can't be friends, and then Angie insults Jackie for wearing last year's jeans. In the episode that aired, they didn't have an exchange in this part.
The next difference is the scene where Donna, Fez, and Kelso see Eric leave for Roller Disco (This is the 🌈 episode 🤣).
There is this missing exchange between Kitty and Jackie, following up on Jackie and Angie's earlier cut exchange:
And the following cut lines are from the scene where Eric walks into the kitchen at the end of the episode and throws away his skates/costume in front of all of his family and friends. Fez reminisces about his own time as a roller disco'er, and Donna wonders about Eric's calf muscles. 😂
So there you have it! Not as many changed bits as some of the episodes, but I did like reading the revisions, as always.
Stay tuned for more That '70s Show original script reviews with me, your host, @thatseventiesbitch 😀
Other Scripts I've Posted:
S2xE20 "Kiss of Death"
S2xE22 "Jackie Moves On"
S2xE26 "Moon Over Point Place"
S5xE21 "Trampled Under Foot"
She reached a hand out into the full starry night closing her eyes for a moment until the wind stopped brushing the damp cold grass against her bare arms. The girl held her breath in for a minute letting the air fill her tired lungs until it started to hurt. Exhaling out and drawing in a new fresh of breath. Her thoughts swam inside of her like an angry nest of wasps had been struck down with a stick. 'no!' she thought shooting straight up ignoring the chill she got from the chill air around her. It was spring and the warmer weather didn't fully warm up the ground but it did make the moon flowers bloom into a nice rich color with a soft sweet smell to it. She came to relax not stress over silly little inconvenience she couldn't help control it was at this point out of her hands. But why did it hurt so much when she thought about it?
There was nothing she could do at the moment but scream in agony, pain, anger, the negative emotions. After it felt like ages she came to a halt as she saw a shooting star flag before her damp sorrowful eyes. Plopping back down onto the wet cold grass she was laying on just minutes ago.
Maybe she can wish it all away and act like it never had happened.
Then maybe she can start to fill alive again instead of a dead walking corpse destined to rot away.
It's not cringe anymore (it SHOULDN'T be cringe anymore), just do it. You're doing something you enjoy, who cares what anybody else says! So spread the words my fellow internet brethren.
When working in a TVA was a routine for Mobius and Loki brought at least a little fun and variety to it, the clock on his desk was somewhere in a pile of stuff, hidden behind the phone.
When Loki left, Mobius put the clock in a prominent place, and it looks like he is constantly turns it over.
In which the TVA gang gets involved in Mobius’s missions, and somewhere along the way, Mobius discovers just how deeply Lokis and Dons care for each other. He thought it ended at friendship, but he was wrong. The knowledge, and the pain that comes with it, brings him to his knees.
(Explicit rating finally comes into play here! 🌶️✨)
hiii!! i was wondering if you’d mind me writing a little side story for your coffee shop au lokius story? I love the idea of Loki having an obsession with Mobius’s belly and just needing to touch all the time lolll. i love your writing!!
UM YESSSS!!!!! I would be honored 🥹🥹🥹 I mean, is there ever really enough Mobius belly love? Naur. We need more ✨ I can’t wait to read it!
I always have a few classic, go-to fic starters. I'm thinking about these for Lokius now:
Trapped in a snow storm
Truth or dare (bonus if camping for some reason)
Fake dating for Christmas
High school AU (alt: Magic school au)
Groundhogs day, but they are BOTH stuck in the loop
Roommates to lovers
One character is a vampire all of a sudden
Murder mystery cop drama
One character is Royal/famous (the other is not enthused)
Arranged marriage setup (dystopian and/or royal)
Only one bed (can be used at any time)
Two person love triangle (falling for their online persona while the other falls for them in person)
Fairy tale re-telling (Cinderella, Beauty and the beast etc.)
Married in Vegas and fall in love trying to peice together your drunken last 24 hours
Some version of the classic straight romance novel (big city person returns home for holiday, and falls for hot apple farmer while saving the harvest festival, and finds out he's secretly a millionaire)
Fix it fics: a) the final obstacle that keeps them apart can be taken on by another, freeing up love interest, b) the final obstacle can be completed, and then the love interest can do something to find them when it's over
