Birthday dinner with my husband. Enjoying another year of my fabulous 40s. @farmtablenc food was delicious, sweet tea was on point, short rib and mushroom risotto was absolutely delectable. Husband’s Pork Schnitzel was just as good. The bed of creamy pesto angel hair is addictive. To finish it off key lime pie in a jar was a yes. The lady even put a candle in it for me. Have you cleaned out all of your old emails in your inboxes yet? I am trying to make a conscious effort in 2022 to keep a cleaner inbox and make sure I am only keeping important information. So to start while it is still 2021, I am going through my main email and givin her a good clean out. I am only keeping receipts pertaining to subscriptions I purchase last year so I can keep track of them. I am keeping items pertaining to future events I have planned coming up. I am going through and unsubscribing to email services that no longer are of interest to me. And the list goes on…. I’m not saying “empty inbox equals clear mind” but it probably doesn’t hurt. Since I quit my job, one of my goals was to go through and entirely clean out my house from top to bottom. A daunting task. Decluttering things that no longer serve us. Trying to tidy up our home. Last year we remodeled our pantry #ihatewireshelving , and I haven’t had the time, energy, or mentality to keep up with it. So it got messy. The first picture is our before picture minus how the floor looked because I had started removing things before I took the picture. Well, one of my first goals was to reorganize the pantry to be more conducive to our daily functioning. I feel like I succeeded. Is it like the pantries you see on Pinterest? No. Hell, it’s not even fully finished being organized because I have things on the top shelf that I feel could be more useful somewhere else. But, it works. I was able to create more space for items that were just stuffed willynilly on the shelves before. I left space on shelves for future items. I kept extra items like a second box of crackers to go to the storage shelves in the garage. But in doing this I didn’t stress myself by doing it all in one day, no, I broke it down to shelf by shelf, day by day. Why? Because I needed to. I didn’t need to stress myself out to reorganize my pantry in one day. I didn’t need to overwhelm myself trying to figure out how I was going to do this. I broke it down. One shelf at a time and once I was done with that shelf moved on to another non-pantry related task. Moral of the story? Don’t let the task overwhelm you. Find a way to break it down into small chunks. Create breaks after completing a part of the task and do other things. Let’s not stress.
