And just like that, our little getaway is over and I'm in my last week of work. . I have to share this little gem - @venusbayecoretreat - nestled in 5.6 hectares of protected and covenanted wildlife habitat between #andersoninlet and the beach. . Solar power, rainwater, certified organic products and even a basket of fresh goodies from her veggie garden, Mae hasn't left sustainability to chance. . We cooked dinner outside using the camp stove and I even tried (keyword tried) to make bread in the Cobb bbq. . It was just nice to slow down and just be. This kid! 🙌🏻 Meet Judah, an 8 year old warrior who volunteers for @seashepherdmelbourne with his mum and dad (and little sister!) . Today was his 8th Birthday, and you know what he asked for?! His mum to organise a beach cleanup with his Sea Shep buddies and to go to Vegie Bar for dinner! . 32kg of rubbish at the Brighton dog beach later, he well and truly earned his huge plate of nachos and cake! . The vaquita - the most endangered marine animal in the world. . With an estimated population of under 60 remaining, Sea Shepherd's campaign 'Operation Milagro' aims to help this shy and elusive porpoise beat the odds, bringing about a miracle to restore the vaquita population from the brink of extinction. . Partnering with the government of Mexico, they aim to protect the waters of the vaquita refuge, patrol for poachers, document issues facing the endangered cetacean, and to collect vital data to share with the scientific community. . So whilst it was nice to have @ladyparker1984 back on land for a week (having just spent 90 days at sea protecting the whales), I'm super excited and hell proud for her next adventure in the Sea of Cortez, Mexico, continuing her fight for our oceans. .
