Me: oh wow, it’s really busy here at work, I should start doing something that isn’t my responsibility just to help out, maybe I can skip my break today, or stay a little—
My inner Chilchuk Tims: Your job description has your responsibility and includes hours worked and breaks. Stick to it unless they want to pay you more. No job is your friend no matter how much you like it.

we need another bidoof’s law to refer to the phenomenon where someone says some rude stupid shit in the reblogs of your post and you go to their blog and all their posts are about nature loving you and being kind to each other and cute illustrations about friendship etc. the cognitive dissonance

dual propaganda: Dolores del Río and Marlene Dietrich being pals (who are gals) masterpost:
Tumblr media
here they are attending a bride and groom themed party together
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Mister and Missus" Masquerade: After eleven years of wedded life, the Basil Rathbones think it's high time to burn a little incense on the altars of the marriage gods - which accounts for this exquisite bride and groom shindig. Marlene Dietrich, left, plays the groom to Dolores del Río's exotic Spanish bride. (of course they had to work "exotic" in there :/)

"Dolores del Río was the most beautiful woman who ever set foot in Hollywood" -Marlene Dietrich

"Ah, this is the real beauty. We blondes have to work at it." -Marlene Dietrich about Dolores

Modern fallout is crazy because the series as a whole is about the faults of government, mainly american, and consumerism and being unethical for the sake of financial gain and then like elon musk is a fan and they used ai for promos for the tv show made by amazon. I'm starting to think these guys have never actually listened to the games dialogue or notes or anything and just ran around in fo4 shooting things.

Propaganda
Vyjayanthimala (Madhumati, Amrapali, Sangam, Devdas)—Strong contender for /the/ OG queen of Indian cinema for over 2 straight decades. Her Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award came not a moment too soon with 62 movies under her belt. Singer, dancer, actor, and also has the most expressive set of eyes known to man
Debbie Reynolds (Singin’ in the Rain, The Unsinkable Molly Brown)—she was only EIGHTEEN in Singin’ in the Rain and she was incredible. she was my childhood hero. also she was a humanitarian and supported mental health causes, LGBTQ causes, and advocated for AIDS research in the early 1980s. when a network showed cigarette ads during her show she was PISSED because she didn’t want to support something that was detrimental to people’s health. and finally she was Carrie Fisher’s mother!
This is round 2 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]

listen i realized recently that debbie reynolds was my gay awakening - i didn't want to Be Her (well, i also did), i wanted to fucking kiss her and i was too catholic of a wee child to realize that. also i almost wore out the vhs tape of singin in the rain we have

Her singing voice is so beautiful! She was in one of the most influential musicals of all time and her performance in it is one of the reasons why it's so remembered!
Known for her stage and movie work, and scandal when her first husband, Eddie Fisher, left her for Liz Taylor. They were both better off without him.

Hi! I am supposed to be writing right now, thank you for asking. I set aside time on my calendar for it, and everything.
Anyway, I wanted to recommend some of my favorite albums to listen to while writing! I prefer to listen to instrumental music, or music with non-English lyrics, while I write, since I'm an English speaker and I find hearing English while I'm working too distracting. (This, apparently, does not extend to television shows, which I can have on in the background with no issues? I guess headphones do special stuff to me.) If you also prefer to listen to non-English language music while writing, and are looking for some recs, mine are below the cut!
I'm also always on the hunt for new music, so if you have any recs, RB and share them with me! What do you listen to when you're writing? Please. Some of these albums I have been listening to for close to a decade and I need something fresh.
Sound Collection - Aun J-Classic Orchestra
2. Lisa LeBlanc - Lisa LeBlanc
3. Journey to the West - Damon Albarn
4. Amadeus (the Complete Soundtrack)
5. Water Music - Handel
6. The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices - Bulgarian State Television Female Choir

Rereading Going Postal for the first time in a couple years and Moist Von Lipwig is hilarious. Multiple times per chapter he jumps up and down screaming “why is all this random shit happening? All this random shit needs to stop happening!” Brother you’re in the ‘random shit happening constantly’ universe
