Happy Birthday to Brendon! ๐ @illbero โฃ We've been working together now for over a year and made some awesome changes. โฃ โฃ First, we focused on increasing strength and muscle while also rehabilitating the shoulder.โฃ โฃ Brendon has increased his strength considerably and made huge improvements to muscle size. ๐ช๐ชโฃ โฃ 4 months ago we reset the goal to drop some bodyfat in preparation for the big 40.โฃ โฃ Weight loss is never linear. Change comes slowly. Behavior change is hard and working on ourselves is very comforting and uncomfortable. The only way to be successful in improving yourself is being honest with yourself. So you want to compete in bodybuilding ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ Reality check. Bodybuilding is hard. You will have to make sacrifices You will be hungry You will be tired You will be moody You will never be good enough for yourself Your mind will play tricks on you This is not an easy sport. You MUST work hard for months on end and stay on plan with your training, nutrition, cardio, mental health. This is not something to can start 16 weeks out. Look at 12 months, 24 months. What can you do in that time is far greater than 12 weeks out. Bodybuilding is an awesome sport that i love. But you need to understand it. Don't go into it blind. Do you overlook the good things about a situation and get wrapped up in the negatives? For example, you enjoy a fun dinner out with friends, but the restaurant gets your bill wrong at the end of the night. You leave feeling annoyed and frustrated, forgetting about the good time you had.โฃ โฃ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ. Do you tend to take on the blame for something bad or disappointing that happens? For example, a friend declines an invitation from you, so you assume itโs because they donโt want to spend time with youโฃ โฃ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ. This means you have one setback and then expect the worst to happen. For example, your car wonโt start in the morning, so you think the rest of your day is destined to be doomed.โฃ โฃ ๐๐น๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ-๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ-๐๐ต๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด. Do you see things as either good or bad, with no middle ground? In this mindset, if things arenโt perfect, theyโre automatically bad.โฃ โฃ When you notice a negative thought, try to stop it and shift your focus to the positive. Think rationally about the situation. If it helps you to let go, you can give yourself and those around you grace. (You can still hold them accountable for their actions.)โฃ โฃ Your negative thoughts wonโt go away overnight. But with practice, you can train yourself to have a more positive outlook. Remember, you arenโt overlooking the facts. We can execute the plan and get better results. โฃ โฃ Otherwise we tend to flounder and only do what we like or are comfortable doing.โฃ โฃ This Won't help you reach your go goals. โฃ โฃ ๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐'๐ ๐บ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต?โฃ What I do for training with my clients is focus on a variety of phases.โฃ โฃ Priority is on form, technique, and control. This is because we want to train for a long tume and not just try to PB every set.โฃ 1 rep PBs don't improve strength, they improve confidence and ego. Confidence is important in training but it's not going to nature you stronger. โฃ I move my clients through different phases, like movement, stability, strength, power, explosive, etcโฃ โฃ And every 8 weeks we change the plan. โฃ This is to keep you motivated and challenged in your training. โฃ โฃ We work on progressively overloading each session.โฃ โฃ By changing the plan every 8 weeks we not only keep it interesting but we can mitigate plateaus and sneak in mini deloads as you adjust to the new plan every 8 weeks.โฃ โฃ Can you run 1 plan for longer? sure you can, as long as you're progressing then you're good. But what tends to happen is our intensity drops subconsciously as we are getting bored of the training.
