N REGARDS TO MY YOUTUBE STREAMS

So if you weren’t informed before I am a twitch streamer mainly. I wanted to test out what it’s like to be a YouTube streamer since I’ve heard good things from others. A lot of my mutuals have also been doing quite well on this website as well.

I’ve only been streaming on here for about a month and that’s how long I intended to stream for.

So far I only had one seriously scuffed stream on YouTube which I am in debate on even deleting or not.

The little gripes I have with YouTube is that It is insanely hard to see when using YouTube streaming ui. The fonts for chat is tiny and are I adjustable like how it is on twitch.

This makes it very difficult to play visually dependent games with or for chat. Right now I’m playing resident evil on twitch, now if I brought that to YouTube switching back and forth from chat to game would be nearly impossible for me because I wouldn’t be able to see what anyone’s saying. So for YouTube I’m resorted to only do art, just chatting and karaoke streams. Which is fine these are fun topics and are engaging but I squinting my eyes to see what you’re typing hurts after a while.

The YouTube setup for stream is also a bit difficult to understand the first time around. Sometimes I couldn’t even put up my thumbnails for streams or is out rifht make a whole new upcoming stream on accident because there is no visual edit button.

In my personal experience I have not met many new viewers or if I did it was just to hard for me to notice because of the tiny chat font.

I know it’s insanely hard to gain views or new chargers on both YouTube and twitch but for twitch in a month I can receiver around 3 or so new chatters. For YouTube I only had the regulars that were originally on twitch. (I appreciate y’all dearly for joining my experiment). It all makes sense honestly because unless you are an already big creator YouTube wont show your lives. YouTube never shows lives it’s more of a video website anyways. So it makes sense that I’d get more engagement from twitch who is a primary streaming site.

I know this isn’t a need for streamers and a lot of streamers even on twitch due without it but. God do I miss twitch redeems when being on YouTube. I have the mix it up beta so I can make redeems commands and so on to make my YouTube more engaging but it all isn’t the same.

Not a lot of people read the description so they wont see my !commands list all the time. Along with me having to build b limitations to prevent spamming. Also not a lot of other bots are accessible to YouTube.

I just enjoy using bots for protection and comedic purposes.

This experiment would have never happened tbh if I didn’t have mic it oo.

The good things about YouTube is that it forces me to be organized. To get views on your lives you must have a description a eye catching tittle and thumbnail along with hashtags.

This makes ir easier to find the vos you’re interested in along with just having your YouTube channel look nice.

Twitch doesn’t have that and a lot of your vods get lost in time which makes it feel like there is no point in organizing because why make a pretty thumbnail that will be deleted in a month.

YouTube saves your vods which I love because I can always look back to see how much I improved as a creator.

I’m sorry if all this is a bit of a jumbled mess of thoughts but in conclusion.

I’ll be sticking with twitch until something better comes along, YouTube improved more, or it dies

Twitch has better engagement for smaller creators

I cant adjust things to make it easier for my disability,

I cant interact with chat with bots and so on.

It’s just a platform that was meant for streaming.

This experiment was fun and I’m glad I got to learn more about YouTube streaming. Thank you everyone who watched me and I hope to see y’all on twitch.

For now YouTube will continue to be a place where I create short/ long form content.

Lives maybe every once and a while if needed. But follow me on twitch for weekly streams at 8pm est Saturday and Sunday

This is just for an old video since making thumbnails is a way to keep myself from falling asleep in class and to keep yt organized .

Also I didn’t know that if a short is to long it just becomes a regular YouTube video.

TIKTOK BAN

Hey I just wanted to inform everyone that if you haven’t sub to my YouTube I would really appreciate it if you did just because if you haven’t heard

Tiktok may possibly be banned in the US

I do not trust meta or instagram since they are the reasons for tiktok going away.

They lobbied the government to bann tiktok in order for them to be the top dog of short form content

Since tiktok will be banned there is not real competitor

So they’re taking away resources for creators on their platform such as

Adding a pay for verification feature

Forcing you to post 6 stories a day

Post every day

Use only their in app editing tools

No more creator fund money

They want you to break your back for lack luster views

I used Instagram daily at one point and got absolute garbage views which is why I gave up.

It seems like the only way to grow is if you already had a following on there from the early days when the algorithm was good or ok

Or you’re already popular and u just shifted your followers over there.

I am more motivated when I see results so if things get worse what’s the point of being on Instagram

I’ll continue to post shorts to YouTube and slowly turn that into my primary posting center.

YouTube has lasted way longer then any social platform and actually PAYs creators for their work

It’s not perfect itself but

Having a scheduler being apple to make community posts

Premiere videos

And post long form content. It just feels better for me personally.
