the day the world became beautiful
heres a little snippet of what it was like falling in love, as a person with depression.
summary: the world was dim of color, days meshed together, until one day, color is brought back into my eyes, for i saw him for the first time. fluff/smut if you squint hard enough.
don't hesitate to interact. feedback appreciated. wrote this on my lunch break. :)
My world was dimmed; Bland and dulled colors. I could see the grass was green. But it made no difference in my life. When I would walk in the park, the path was bleak; the wind was cold on my skin, shivering down to my bones.
That was until one day, our paths crossed. I looked into the face before me, and their silky voice calmed my cold bones. their eyes, shining deep brown like my coffee in the morning, warmed through my cold heart. Suddenly the world wasn't so dull. The grass isn't just green, but now it has life to it; dancing with the wind. the colors seemed to shine brighter with new life. The wind wasn’t so cold, it saught to caress my skin, breathing into me a new life. I started seeing things in a new light; smiled at the little things; like the way leaves danced in the wind. the steam coming off a fresh cup of coffee, reminding me of the deep hues of their eyes. or the way the sun beamed through my windows in the early hours while the birds sang their tunes.
My stomach would feel warm and my cheeks warmed as I thought what it might be like to press my lips onto theirs, to feel their warm touch on my skin, their breath on my neck. My whole body warmed at the sound of my name coming through their lips. It sounded like a prayer, an intimate chant. The thought of them on their knees worshipping me had my bones melt and my core wanting. How could a simple person bring my walls down and my whole world much brighter than it was before? I felt like a spell was cast upon me. One I never want to break free from.

I frequently got school visits from Robert Maillet, since he was local. And come to find out he's my 3rd cousin. We had talked over Facebook a out how we're related, told me some very inspiring things when i asked how he came to be where he is, and he is so kind and sweet. I always admired him in 300 and in Sherlock Holmes after the fact. (I come from a low income family and it inspired me to write and put my creativity out there, even if it only gets a few likes or reblogs, if he can do it, so can I one day)
Wholesome 11/10 experience
who is the most famous person you’ve interacted with either online or in person?

Steve: So, how is Loki adjusting to life on Earth?
Thor: Not well, actually. He got us kicked out of the movie theater the other day.
Steve: How?
Thor: Well, during the previews, the usher discovered that the man sitting next to Loki was smoking.
Steve: Far be it from me to defend your brother, but why would they kick the two of you out of the theater because somebody else was smoking?
Thor: Mainly because it was Loki that set the man on fire.

The Loki bug
Pairing: Reader x Loki
One shot summary: You've caught the flu and get board of your own bedroom so look for somewhere else to recover. You are joined by Loki who finds himself helping to keep you better. You end up catching more than an illness.
Mentions of vomiting
Notes: This is kind of stupid, just pure fluff. it's definitely not the best thing I've ever written but I fancied writing something soft so I did. Hope you enjoy.
You felt awful.
It was definitely the flu, and you had definitely picked it up from Chelsea’s birthday party. You shouldn’t have gone out in December wearing a short dress and no coat but you did anyway in the name of not having to lug a coat with you everywhere. Now you were paying the price.
Luckily, the vomiting seemed to have stopped, but you still felt ill and tired. You had been cooped up in your room for days now and you were sick to death of the same scene. Wanting a bit of a change, you decided to go chill out in one of the lounging areas in Stark tower. Amazing perks of working for Stark, include but are not limited to, your own apartment (which you were currently sick to death of no offence Stark) and full access to most areas in the tower; aside from some of the work-out areas that were limited to the Avengers only. Another great perk of Stark Towers living, was getting to see super-hero’s hanging about; Captain America once made you a cup of tea, and it was still your favourite thing to bring up at parties.
You made your way, blanket, tissues, hot water bottle and sick bucket (just in case) to the 14th floor, which had one of your favourite sitting rooms in, and one which you knew would be fairly quiet.
It had a couple of large comfy sofa’s and chairs and a way too big television set for the size of the room. You settled yourself down, switched the tv onto some fairly shit daytime shows and prepared to sleep the day away.
When you woke, you had the distinct feeling that you were no longer alone. You opened your eyes slowly and groggily, and spotted Loki sitting on the armchair opposite. You had completely forgotten that the Asgardian Gods had been staying on the 14th floor during their time in the towers, and you were now apparently gatecrashing their living room. They hadn’t been here long, although you had bumped into Thor a couple of times and embarrassed yourself by forgetting how to speak, you had not really seen Loki around. He kept himself to himself as far as you were aware, and didn’t leave his room too often.
Now however, he was sat in front of you with his legs kicked up on the table in front of him and was currently reading a book you didn’t recognise. He was wearing earth clothes which took you by surprise; Thor wore earth clothes all the time, although you once overheard the black widow explaining that she couldn’t let him go out in a Hawaiian shirt, cargo pants and a leather jacket. Loki however donned black sweatpants and a green t-shirt, and still managed to look majestic. His black hair was loose, and looked curlier than you had seen it. On the other hand, you were in Lilo and Stitch pyjamas you’d had for years and were sure you looked fairly disgusting.
You had heard all of the stories about Loki and New York, despite not living there when it all kicked off, and you had also heard the rumours about mind control and that perhaps it hadn’t been through his own volition. You had to admit, he didn’t look as sickly pale as you had seen on the tv so perhaps they were true.
Under normal circumstances, you probably would have said something or apologised for being in his living room, but your head continued to pound painfully, so you sat up long enough to grab some paracetamol and water before laying back down and going back to sleep.
***
The Midgardian girl was sick. He could tell that much; she was wrapped up in blankets and had a bucket next to him. He hoped she wasn’t going to vomit as he hated the sight. Perhaps her sickness accounted for why, when she woke up and spotted him, she hadn’t run in fear like most do, but ignored him and gone back to sleep. He was mildly annoyed at first to see someone in his living space, although, he thought, it was technically Stark’s and he couldn’t really claim ownership of a shared space. Plus she was quiet and didn’t seem to care about him being in her presence, which made her the best company he’d had since he arrived on this infernal planet.
As the hours went by, he found himself actually kind of enjoying their quiet companionship. So when she appeared the next day in the same spot, he was almost glad to have some company while he read, even if the company was sick and mainly slept.
By now, he started to become interested in her ailment. He was unsure what she was sick with, and lightly worried if she was dying. It would just be his luck for the first human he actually enjoyed the company of to die soon after. He used his stupid portable device Stark had ensued him with to find out what was wrong with her. At first he had found these devices pointless, and they seemed to merely be a way for Thor to annoy him even when they were not in each others presences. Even now he received yet another message from him which contained some silly little pictures including a dancing woman and a moon with a face on it. Norns above.
He had however, discovered that The Google could be a useful tool, and seemed to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of midgardian pop-culture. Loki spent most of his time using it to google what Stark’s stupid monikers meant.
He typed in some of her symptoms including sickness and headaches. He managed to narrow it down to influenza, which to his relief, was unlikely to kill someone who was as young as she seemed. Now fairly happy that she was not dying, he went back to his reading.
They continued in a fairly silent companionship, and he found his spirits lifting when he heard her chuckle under her blanket at a joke he had made at Thor’s expense after he had bumbled in earlier.
On the third day, she appeared slightly brighter and managed to stay awake for longer. Loki noticed that this mortal girl actually had very pretty eyes when she kept them open long enough for him to admire them. They talked a little about the book he was reading and other literature, and he discovered she was a fan of midgardian classics, some of which he had read and could even admit where good; for midgardian literature of course. She had apologised for the tv series ‘friends’ that seemed to be on in the background most of the time they had been together. Loki hadn’t really minded, and was even secretly starting to watch it instead of reading; he was beginning to wonder if Ross and Rachel were ever going to get back together. He didn’t tell her this of course. When Thor came in to generally bother him and be a nuisance, she had laughed again at his silly quips, and he wondered what else he could say to get her to laugh again. When she had fallen asleep in the afternoon, he sent a jet of magic to warm her hot water bottle as she slept, and kept her tea warm in case she woke.
By the fourth day, he actively looked forward to something for the first time since being here, getting to make his way to the living space and talk to the ill mortal. When he got there, he noticed she had taken a turn for the worse. Her skin had a sickly gleam on it and she was shivering under her blanket. She was restless too, normally she lay still, but today she was turning about with her face scrunched up, as if she was uncomfortable.
Loki panicked, and referred back to The Google. It suggested she could have a fever, a raise in temperature above the norm. Concerned for his sick mortal, he decided he would try and check and walked over to her, lightly placing her hand on her head to check. She definitely felt warm, warmer in fact than mortals normally felt to him (which was pretty warm thanks to his frost giant blood).
His device suggested trying to reduce her temperature a bit, as well as ensuring she had plenty of fluids. Loki swapped her blanket for a much thinner one and refilled her water bottle. He continued to keep his hand on her forehead, hoping that might cool her down.
***
Waking up with Loki peering down at and his hand on your head was not on your “living at Stark Towers” bingo card. Once he noticed you were awake he leapt back quickly as if he had been burnt.
“You were shivering.” He stated stiffly.
“Oh, I have the flu, sorry.” You weren’t sure if he was annoyed at you or not.
So far Loki hadn’t spoken much to you, although he had been putting up with your presence over the past few days, maybe you had taken things too far by having a fever. You hoped not, you had been enjoying having him around while you were sick, it was nice to not have to wake up alone. Sometimes he would read a little out-loud to himself, or if you were really lucky humming and once, just once, you caught him singing. You liked listening to his voice you had decided, it was much nicer than listening to the constant re-runs of Friends that were usually on. It was nice of him to let you leave the T.V on too, despite the fact you slept through most of it. All in all, it had been better company than you initially thought.
“You haven’t been drinking much today, The Google says mortals should keep their fluids up when they have influenza.”
“Er- yeah you’re probably right.” You sat up and grabbed your water bottle.
Weird, you thought you had forgotten to fill it up this morning.
Loki took another step back.
“Hey, did you swap out my blanket?” You asked him, noticing a much thinner one.
Loki cleared his throat and looked sheepish,
“I did. Apologies. I can change it back of course, I just thought this one would be better to help your rising temperature, but I can change it back, I’ll just change it back for you -”
“That’s alright, this ones better anyway I think I was getting too warm.”
He gave a small smile and nodded. He looked at you shyly before asking,
“I have a spell that might be able to help you sleep more restfully?” He posed as a question.
“Sure that would be great thank you.”
Loki came closer again and rested his hands upon your forehead. His hands were very cold, and they felt nice on your feverish skin; you sighed happily.
The effects were instantaneous, and you started to feel sleepy.
“Thanks for helping me. You have really cold hands by the way, they’re really pretty too. I’m not sure how hands can be pretty, but yours are. I suppose they match the rest of you like that”
You said drowsily, your eyes starting to shut.
“You should rest.”
“Mm. Can you read to me please? I find it calming.”
Days later, you would wake up in the middle of the night, having flash-backs of telling Loki he had pretty hands and asking him to read for you and it would make you cringe so badly you nearly died of embarrassment. But for now you were too tired to care.
“Of course.”
You were lulled to sleep almost immediately.
The next day, you finally felt more like yourself again, so you showered and wore some clothes that weren’t pyjamas for the first time. You wanted to head back to Loki’s living room, and show him that you were capable of not looking like a sweaty mess. God damn Asgardian Princes who always seemed to look good. You were still feeling fatigued and snotty, but you were at least able to talk to him without falling in and out of sleep. You felt slightly nervous today, because you were a bit more ‘ with it’ than you had been these past few days, you were also more aware of what you looked and acted like.
Your nerves were quickly diminished, and you found talking to the God just as easy as when you were sick.
***
“How have you found living in the towers? I don’t see you around with the others?” She asked him.
He wasn’t sure how to tell her that since living here he had received a hel of a lot of animosity and very few people had talked to him like she had.
He was surprised she had come today. Now she was feeling better, he assumed she would have stopped visiting but he was thankful she had.
“Not many people particularly want me to be around, darling.”
“Because of the New York thing? Didn’t everyone know that that wasn’t your fault?”
She looked at him with those very pretty eyes, which were staring at him inquisitively.
He smiled sadly,
“Not everyone beliefs that, many people have their doubts.” He said softly.
She frowned. He had decided that he hated seeing her frown, it made his stomach twist and he wanted to reach over and smooth it over. He much, much preferred to see her smiling or laughing.
“I have to go back to work tomorrow.” She looked sad about this too. “So I won’t be able to come here.”
“Oh.” He supposed this was always going to happen at some point. He wished she could keep visiting like this but to do so would be to wish sickness upon her which he would not want.
“Yeah.” She looked glum.
Loki was a little surprised she had enjoyed his company over the past few days, and his hopes raised at the realisation that she was as upset as him at their time coming to an end.
He cleared his throat, praying to the Norns that he was on the right track,
“Perhaps we could still continue to meet, even if you cannot visit here everyday.”
She looked up at him, starting to smile again,
“Really? Do you
do you want to continue seeing me? Well not seeing me seeing me obviously because were not seeing each other but like
continue meeting up maybe? There’s this coffee shop not to far from here if you would like to go after I finish work tomorrow?”
“I’d love to darling.”

I don’t care if you ramble. I read every word and i love you
I don’t care if you leave a comment on a fic from four years ago or leave comments/kudos on like ten of my fics in one go. This isn’t IG, pls stalk my AO3. I love you
I don’t care if you mention the same thing in your comment that four other people have already mentioned. It’s actually really useful to know what resonated with people and I love everyone who takes the time to tell me they liked a particular turn of phrase
I don’t mind if your comment is super long or just a couple of sentences, i love them all
I love you

You can’t quite put a finger on what exactly makes you so invested in the ongoing struggles of the tall stranger outside the cafe. It’s not like he’s the only poor soul trying to go about his business in the middle of a nasty wintery storm. In fact, seeing everyone else hurrying to and fro only serves to make you more grateful that you didn’t have to actually go into the office today. Remote working, along with a delicious bagel and some hot tea, is infinitely better than listening to your desk-mate melt down over every minute detail of his impending wedding. Here, at least, there’s some variety of meltdowns to watch.
The tall man in the black suit, however, has garnered more than mild curiosity; for one thing, the umbrella he’s been struggling to turn right-side-out looks a little charred. For another, he’s just standing there in the middle of the wind and rain like he hardly even notices it, despite the fact that his pale cheeks are wind-stung and his hair is wild. He finally gives up and hurls the umbrella across the street with such force that you wonder if he might be some errant Olympic javelin-thrower. He looks up at the sky, goes to retrieve the umbrella, then stands for another moment by the intersection - you think he’s glaring at his watch, but the rain’s become so heavy that the details are obscured. He turns his head, like he’s trying to decide where to go, and that’s when impulse kicks in; you shove your laptop into the waterproof pocket in your backpack, toss your nearly-empty cup in the trash, and hurry out of the cafe, your own umbrella unfurling.
“Hey!”
He turns, and now that you have a clear view of his face, your nerve wavers. He’s got the cheekbones of an angel - a very familiar angel, though you can’t quite place—
“Yes?” he asks, voice clipped.
You hold the umbrella higher and take another step closer. “I
Well, I saw you fighting with your umbrella from the cafe window back there,” you tell him, raising your voice to be heard over the driving rain. “I thought you could use some help.”
“Help?” he asks with the air of someone who’s been scandalized. “I don’t—”
“Step under here for a second, at least, because I can’t really hear you.”
He ducks his head and obliges, and when he sees how you’re struggling to hold the umbrella high enough, he takes it from your hand. “What if I took this and left you here?” he asks, brow arched.
He’s beautiful. Beautiful and dripping wet, and it takes you a second to process what he’s saying. “Oh. Um, that would be
 mean?”
He snickers. “Really? Only ‘mean?’ Well, I’ll have you know that I am incredibly mean. Evil, some might say.”
“You don’t look very evil. You do look half-drowned, though.”
Startled, he stares at you for a moment, then his smile returns, and this time, it’s a little more sly. “You don’t know who I am, do you?”
“Well,” you reply, “I know that you’re dripping on my shoes - we should probably get you to wherever you’re going, and soon, before you catch a cold.”
“You cannot catch a cold simply from—”
“Where are you headed?” you ask, desperate to get out of the wind; it might not be bothering him, but it’s certainly bothering you. “If we’re going in the same direction, we might as well go together. If not, I’ll at least walk you to a convenience store so you can get your own umbrella.”
He sighs and considers his own ruined umbrella for a moment. “Are you familiar with Stark Tower?”
“Isn’t everyone?”
“Is it in the general vicinity of your original destination?”
“It is,” you lie, oddly compelled to squeeze in a few more minutes with him.
“Very well,” he says, and he slides your backpack off of your shoulder and slings it over his own before you really have a chance to react. You stare at him, perplexed, and he shrugs. “It’s only fair. One favor for another.”
You don’t know what to say. Maybe you’re being very politely mugged. “Business at Stark Tower?”
An unamused laugh escapes him. “Not exactly. It’s where I live, you see.”
“Where you
” You take advantage of a traffic light to pause and study his face more closely. He glances down at you from the corner of his eye, and your stomach flips. “I think I figured out who you are.”
“Did you?” The light changes, and Loki Laufeyson takes hold of your elbow and carefully steers you through the intersection. It’s helpful, really, since you can’t look away from his face. Loki. The Loki. “What gave it away?”
The sarcasm doesn’t even bother you. You’re hypnotized. “The eyes,” you blurt out, and you quickly try to backtrack. “I mean
You don’t make many public appearances, but I have seen some photos on the news, y’know, and your eyes
and you’re very tall. Tall and
”
“And?” he prompts.
Embarrassed, you finally manage to tear your gaze away. “And I’m surprised to encounter an Avenger standing out in the middle of a storm. That’s probably what threw me off.”
“Ah,” Loki says with another sigh. “Well, I was trying to find my brother, you know.” He gestures vaguely at the sky.
“Thor?”
“Yes, Thor.” His own irritation is punctuated by a blinding flash of lightning.
You’re suddenly very concerned. “There isn’t an invasion happening or something, is there? Is he up there fighting, or—”
“Norns, no,” Loki interrupts. “His goat died.”
That throws you for another loop. “His
 goat?”
“Yes, his goat,” he says, rolling his eyes. “He has two - has had them since he was an infant, and Tanngnjóstr apparently picked a fight with some sort of wild boar and lost. He is devastated, hence”— he gestures at the sky again and thunder rumbles —“this.”
That actually does sound pretty devastating. “You don’t seem very sympathetic.”
“Well, I was trying to find him to tell him that the blasted thing can likely be resurrected,” Loki says, “but he quite literally stormed off as soon as the message from Mother arrived, so
 here we are.”
Stark Tower appears as you turn the corner, and you’re already feeling a pang of disappointment at the shortness of the walk. “Should we go back and look for him?” you ask. “I can come, if you need the umbrella.”
Loki offers an odd smile. “No, I think not; he will come down sooner or later. Besides, you have already gone out of your way.”
“You knew?”
“I knew,” he says. “I’m very good at knowing things. I’m also very good at being evil, as I mentioned earlier, which is why I’m going to hold your umbrella and bag hostage until we can have a car brought around to take you home.”
Your stomach does the fluttery-thing again. “That isn’t what I’d call ‘evil,’ exactly.”
“No? What if I hold them hostage unless you agree to walk with me again under better circumstances, then? Maybe to a restaurant?”
You manage to shake your head. “Not very evil, either.”
“Oh, dear,” Loki says with a frown. “I’m not losing my touch, am I?”
“I’d like dinner,” you say quickly, before you have enough time to second-guess yourself. “I’d really like a walk and dinner. Or dinner without the walk, if you want? Stark Tower is near some nice places. I mean, if you’re serious. If you aren’t serious, please forget that I said anything.” His expression is hard to read, and you swallow the lump in your throat. Cringe. You’re coming on too strong. “Actually, probably just forget that I said—”
“Tonight?” he asks. “You’re already ready to spend more time with me?”
“Well, sure. A god doesn’t fall into your lap every day.”
The corner of Loki’s lip curls. “One might.”

May I?
My very first fanfic. Please leave comments and be kind. Suggestions appreciated. Also fluffy sultry ending~
Pairing: Loki x gender neutral reader
Summary: y/n is very dyslexic, and needs audio tech to be able to "read" and listens to audiobooks. out on a mission, they accidentally break their tech, and can't do their work efficiently. Loki notices and decides to help and reads to you.
Some exerpts from a poem (may I feel said he-by E.E Cummings) listed below.
Warnings: fluff, borderline smut?
Gif not mine.
Tumblr media
The only other person who loves to read as much as you did, was Loki. Fortunately for him, he was always stuck at the compound. Something about paying the team back for wreaking havoc in New York last year. So he had all the time in the world to dive deep into a book whenever he wasn't helping the team get information for their missions. You both bonded quickly over what literature he was into at the moment, sometimes indulging you in the kinds of literature Asgard had when he was there. You had shown him how you listen to audiobooks when you could; as you were dyslexic, numbers and letters get jumbled together, making hard to read, and making your head spin. He was intrigued and curious as you tucked an earbud into his ear to let the narrator’s voice flood his ears with Lord of The Rings.
He seems pensive as he hears the book being read to each of your earbuds, after telling him the title of the book. ‘’ Ah, yes; is this the one with the boys with large feet you were watching not too long ago?’’ you scoff; ‘’hobbits and dwarves, yes. And the rings’’ He rolls his eyes ‘’dwarves are much larger than that, I assure you’’ you’ll have to ask him about that later.
When you would cross paths around the compound, he’d stop and ask about what book you were on. Sometimes listening to the same book as he was reading; and you’d talk about it when you had the chance. You both quickly became friends, spending time studying and talking in the library after a long day.
___________
Y/n sighed in frustration as they settled in the Quinjet. In the heat of battle, they heard a familiar crunch in their back pocket, as their tech was hit by a thrown beam. They knew it was better than a massive bruise on their cheek, but couldn't help but miss it for the coming weeks as Tony would have to make another replacement. They weren't even supposed to be in the field, but comms were down and you had to go in and help them firsthand.
-
Loki was nose deep in a book when you walked in. He looked up and saw your defeated face, and stood up to greet you with worry written on his face; ‘’Are you alright? Did you get hurt?’’ you weakly smiled at him.’’yeah im alright, a bit sore. My tech on the other hand did not survive’’, you pulled out what was left of it to show him, then tossed it in a nearby trash can, hearing that crunch again as a few pieces of glass break as it lands.
‘’I'll have to get Tony to make me a new one, it will take a week or so. Having to read everything this week is going to be hell.’’ you say as you think about studying intel, constant distractions around, and not to mention you were in the last chapter of your current read. Loki looked concerned for you, knowing how hard it can be for you to read, and hates seeing you struggle with the simplest of tasks. Especially since you need to do so for work.
You were still fairly new to the team, you were mostly Intel for them, constantly researching their current missions, helping them plan, and informing them of coming dangers and what to expect. You were a meticulous planner, able to see solutions others couldn't; but the world had to bless you with Dyslexia. It was easier to listen to the research being read to you than reading it, as words seem to get mixed up, taking twice as long to read a simple paper. Which is why Tony created a device for you that scans entire books and research in seconds and transfers them into an audio file to listen to. Loki had an idea.
After a long day in the field your eyes strain to make sense of the words you wrote in the folder laid out in front of you. Your head hurt from the strain, but you needed to get this report done by the end of the day, not to mention, start research for the upcoming mission. Just as you were finishing up the report, Loki walks in with a suspicious grin, with several books in tow.
‘’Starting a new series?’’ you ask, suspicious of his sudden excitement.’’somewhat. I figured you could use a hand planning the next mission so I brought you all the information you needed’’ he lifted the stack he was holding and you smiled, defeated, but happy he delivered the files and books you needed. You weren’t sure what he was planning, but happy for his company.
He flipped open a folder and cleared his throat. You looked up and corked your eyebrow at him. He was looking at you, then pointed at the screen on the table. Then suddenly his velvety voice started to read the page in front of him. You finally clicked and understood. With a smile on your face you started tapping and swiping away the information that was important and started planning out your next mission. You knew he had no idea what he was reading, but he was happy to be of help, and learning new things at the same time.
The coming week went by fast, with your new help in tow, you got your research done in half the time, since you had an extra pair of eyes to help you plan. Hearing his rich voice was so much better than the automated voice on the tech. Even when Tony made your new tech, you didn't want the god to stop reading to you. You enjoyed spending time with him; and something about his voice always made you blush. He even read to you your personal favourites in your free time.
________
He secretly enjoyed the look on your face as pink rose to your cheeks everytime he read to you anything with romance. He knew how much you enjoyed listening to him. He knew the effect he had on you. And he loved it. Watching you squirm in your seat in the library from the corner of his eye made him smirk. Sometimes emphasizing on certain phrases just to see you get flushed.
He cleared his throat and started to read aloud a poem he found that he knew would make you melt.
may i feel said he
(i'll squeal said she
just once said he)
it's fun said she
He paused and looked up at you, your eyes wide and cheeks flushed. He slyly grinned and kept reading.
(may i touch said he
how much said she
a lot said he)
why not said she
He knew what he was doing. Each word was sultry, smooth and rich. You needed to hear more.
(let's go said he
not too far said she
what's too far said he
where you are said she)
may i stay said he
which way said she
like this said he
if you kiss said she
You were burning up. Surely he could tell, as you saw the glint in his eyes, full of excitement. Each word burning into your mind.
may i move said he
is it love said she)
if you're willing said he
(but you're killing said she
You were trying your hardest to keep your breathing under control. The way he was reading these words with emphasis, while his eyes bore into yours between verses, was making you melt. You didn't even hear the next one as your brain was completely mesmerized at the way he read to you. Thoughts racing a mile a minute. You snapped out of it at the last verse, catching your breath in your throat.
(cccome?said he
ummm said she)
you're divine!said he
(you are Mine said she)
The way he whispered and stuttered and that last verse made you quiver. You tried your best not to show how much his voice affected you. You were so glad he was done reading as you weren't sure how much longer you could sit there looking unbothered by his voice. You simply smiled and told him it was lovely, trying and failing to look like it didn't just send waves of need through your body.
He knew. "Just
lovely? I'm sure with a mind like yours you can come up with a better word than 'lovely', darling."
Darling.
The way It rolled off his tongue sent shivers down your spine. Silver tongued God indeed. You were caught. He definitely knew the effect that had on you, as his grin widened. You just sat there dumbfounded by what just happened, not looking away from his eyes. He laid the book down, and stood to meet you where you were sitting, looking down on you. He bent down and his eyes darted to your lips and back at your eyes. "May I?" Said he. Before you could answer, a loud ringing interrupted both of you, causing you both to jump. You giggled awkwardly and answered the phone, not looking away from the grinning god. It was Tony, telling you to come to the meeting room to brief the team. you had totally forgotten about the time, completely entranced by Loki.
"Shit" you muttered to yourself. "I'll be right there I'm so sorry I got sidetracked" while darting a look towards loki. You hung up and awkwardly smiled. "Uh
I'll be back later? Maybe you could read to me some more
?" He nodded and bowed his head slightly. "As you wish. You know where I'll be" heat rose to your cheeks as you left in a hurry.
He knew you were going to think about your moment all day and have a hard time focusing. He smiled to himself as he returned to his seat and picked up a book. He was already looking forward to what he would read to you next. Perhaps he should send you a voice message later on to keep your mind racing while out on your mission. The possibilities were endless.

I always forget about my obsession with -smutty- fanfic until I get hundreds of notifications with tags when I should absolutely -not- be reading fanfic.
