i'm always going to be pretty sad that taylor/13 management had to give up the reins on her merch to secure the deal she has. i still think it's the best case scenario in order to allow for the other conditions in her deal with republic and umg. but i remember that one thing i was really happy about with the reputation merch/stella mccartney merch aside from its quality and thoughtful designs (still wear my hoodies and shirts all the time, there weren't big drops every couple of months either) was that it was so much more sustainable in its production. i can't bring to mind what it was exactly (maybe something on the tag that indicated it?), but i know that she was making an effort in that department. i don't feel obligated to buy anything but i've always hated UMG merch. the way they drop 500000 shitty quality paper thin t shirts in a year, with months-long preorders, that can't even withstand a single wash, with a thoughtless design slapped on them, is the worst. there's 0 quality control and yet this bs has the same price put on it as the rep merch. even the 1989 merch i have is of good quality. if you watch the BTS of the rep tour/miss americana, taylor has always worn her own merch and took pride in it. just sad to have lost something as a fan.
