Hello!! Wow it has really been a minute huh. In February I started a new job in fashion and I feel very Andy Sachs and my boss is very Miranda Priestly and I have had to ask for an extension on nearly every single essay I have submitted this year because I just have no time or brain power or anything really haha #jokingitsnotthatdirebutalsoyesitisthatdire and also this past lockdown in London really Got To Me but things are opening back up and the sun has been shining and I don’t feel so bad anymore! 

But hello!! I have missed tumblr and my drafts is full of posts I have started and never finished but I am finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel! My boss has just hired us a joint PA! I only have two essays left of the year!!! I hope everyone is well and coping xxxx

i can not and i mean i can not stress this enough… make a bibliography as you do your research. i mean, make a fully formed, correctly cited bibliography as you work. just do it. i know i know you’re being lazy or you hate making citations or you’ll just get to it later or you don’t want to get distracted etc etc etc

whatever your reasons just make the fuckin bibliography

and while im at it… put the footnotes in properly as you are writing. just… do it. for future you. please. for your sanity. do it.

busy few weeks! Had phone interview last Thursday, a tooth pulled last Friday (to make space for invisalign! very exciting but also... I miss my tooth and my mouth hurts lol), then a trial shift on Tuesday. Wednesday I was offered the job!! (2 week trial with a full time offer at the end but I’m confident it will go well) and for the first time in my life I might be working somewhere I really love? The people are great, the location is great, the job role is what I’m good at, the industry is in my interests! First day on Monday which means this weekend we NEED to get the essay that is due on Thursday written bc I know I will be getting home after work and falling straight to sleep on the sofa but also the sun is shining and the sky is blue and I just want to go on a very very long walk.

what a week, huh!? pictures from wednesday, which was my first online class of the year. got through it with a hot chocolate made out of the leftover christmas baileys. it’s now almost 8pm on a sunday and i have almost, ALMOST, finished all my work for the week. 

unfortunately came down with a cough on wednesday too so been stuck inside while i wait for my covid test results and the cabin fever is real! I’ve gone from doing 20k steps and a 5k run every day to just sitting inside my bedroom and i am not coping, but!!! self isolation means i should be able to get way ahead of this essay due at the end of the month. swings and roundabouts!

Went to the farmers market this morning for bread (olive & sourdough) and cheese (black truffled gloucester) and had one of those perfect December moments:   crisp cold air; the smell of christmas trees & mulled wine; lots of little dogs in jackets. Now finishing this essay with hot tea & just having one of those days where I feel very thankful for everything.
