No but can I just point out that at the formation lap Crofty was like "Look at Lando doing burn outs, he's purposefully laying rubber on the track for a better start😍" and Nico MF Rosberg was like ??? Absolutely not. That's not on purpose, the track is too cold for that, I would be worried if I was him. This is a bad sign for his start??? and THEN WHAT HAPPENED??? like everytime Nico leaves the commentary box you're reminded of what expert input looks like when it's missing

There’s people arguing on whether Ricciardo getting the same penalty for overtaking under the safety car that Stroll got for the collision is fair or not

Thing is, Stroll’s incident was a mistake due to lack of awareness etc. It was stupid but it was a mistake

Ricciardo overtaking under the safety car was a choice that he made, he chose to do something that is against the regulations and it’s against the regulations as it is dangerous.

Ricciardo could have easily asked his team to check with Race Control if he could take back the position, but he didn’t

He overtook under safety car, it’s hard to see but Hulkenberg crossed the Safety Car line first which means that Sargeant should have filed in behind him

He should have given the position back immediately or Williams should have told him to give the position back.

This map shows where the Safety Car 2 line is, it is at this point that Sargeant should have backed off or at the very least let Hulkenberg overtake him

The teams and drivers collectively agreed that illegal overtakes should be penalised more harshly this year, hence the 10 second penalty

#I understand the logic and rationale behind it #However; I don't like the idea of more than 50% of positions having points attached #I think this year is particularly harsh for midfield teams because you have such dominant cars #But say 2026 shakes up the grid #F1
