“Firearms are only particularly useful against human opponents and even there their value is less in that they pack more firepower than traditional weapons--or many pokemon for that matter--and more that it takes comparatively little training to get the most out of them.
Not that this means much when some common pokemon, such as camerupt, have hides thick enough that bullets glance off of them for the most part.”

“Well he needs to learn he cant do shit like this…” Kiwi explained with a small sigh, using her not casted arm to push the hair from her face. “However I also don’t believe he is a major threat. Like I said, hes an idiot. He thought destroying my work was funny, Be didn’t think of the results of pushing me into the water….Despite what his intentions may have been though, He honestly does need to learn, So ye something needs to be done, Just don’t know what exactly”
Tabitha listened to Kiwi talk, his mouth pursed in a thin line.
“Intentions don’t matter as much as results do,” Tabitha said, “the fact that he intended to pull a harmless prank on you means as much as your intentions to turn in field studies.” Just as Team Magmas intentions with Groudon were... well, never mind that. It’s not pertinent.
“You and him are to keep away from each other.” Tabitha’s gaze was cold and level as he said this. “As it stands, his continued presence around our operations--no matter how small--are a liability. I can only imagine what sort of samples you lost, to say nothing of the fact that I, Tabitha, cannot ignore the fact that Team Magma is now down a competent nurse in our ranks.”
His expression softening as suddenly as it sharpened, he added, leaning back in his chair, “ahyahya, what a headache! To think, even now, Team Aqua must be a thorn in my side!”

"Naw no destruction, just talking to you Admin" Kiwi gave a small shrug "Found a Claw fossil on a plus side though"
“...interesting.”
Not any of Tabitha’s fields, and he’d long since burned bridges with any contacts for whom it would be.
“...I understand there’s Collectors who would pay quite well for that.”
He continues writing for a few moments longer before finally snapping the log shut.
“I, Tabitha, do not deal in ‘just talking’ about problems--is there something to be done about the Aqua grunt or is there not, Grunt Kiwi?” Accident or not--and from all told, the incident was leaning towards the former as far as Tabitha was concerned--there was an escalation to the man’s behaviors.
Tabitha would have been irate enough had it only involved notes.

“Of course he is, he’s with Aqua,” Tabitha replies curtly, “Did you need me to destroy him or have you mistaken your superior for a complaint box?”

tl;dr: Tabitha’s past isn’t the darkest and stormiest (and if you asked him he flat-out wouldn’t claim it was bad at ALL) but as with many there’s a reason why he went from whatever he was doing before to “Hey This Team Magma thing sounds AWESOME”
Aqua’s Shelly and Matt at least have ties to Archie
For all of Tabitha’s faults, I can’t say “would give you a sob story to try to justify criminal activities” is one of them at ALL lmao

Tabitha’s parents certainly. Exist.
[{under cut for mentions of neglect}]
In effect, it’s a very loveless family dynamic. His parents married for convenience at best, and from there, he was their not-unexpected-but-not-quite-wanted only child. Maybe there was affection for each other initially, but not far along enough where Tabitha would have ever been able to see it. Certainly, he was never given much in the way of warmth or patience.
That said, Tabitha was still their child. Though they frequently left him to his own devices the moment he could be trusted to cook for himself (regardless of whether they bothered to leave him anything to that end), his parents maintained rigorous expectations for Tabitha. In essence, they wanted him around not just as a signifier of their own successes in life (stable marriage and a child), but as someone who would in turn support them.
As for Tabitha himself: though he’s not particularly fond of his mother or father, he doesn't actually hate them. A small, quiet part of him resents them, yes, but he does consider his upbringing crucial to his resilience and success. Never mind the fact that it left him neurotic, temperamental, emotionally immature, and, to a minor degree, self-destructive.
