im thinking of jobs that involve contact with the private area. doctors, beauty salons, tattooist/piercer. they all wear gloves and work in sterile environments, also the worker is clothed.
im thinking of jobs that involve saliva. also doctors, covid test stations. again, sterile environment, worker is clothed, probably even wearing a mask, and gloves.
im thinking of jobs where the worker has to get naked. actors and actresses, models. they are at least supposed to have a coach on set and an agent supporting their safety.
none of this is implemented in prostitution and never will be because it destroys the illusion of it being about sex and not money and power exerted through it. sex cant be regulated or professionalised and thats beside the point that with all possible regulations it is still unwanted sex.

heartbreaking the number of women who aren't constantly thinking "okay but what does this do for me? how does this further my goals?" literally (I'm going to drop the no-no word) be a huge bitch and save your own life.

The solution to being obsessed with your appearance is just to get a busy job and/or start working on actually achieving things like I promise you can’t waste time on the shape of your eyebrows when you’ve got competing deadlines. I promise you’ll realise how unimportant your pore size is, when you’re kicking academic or career goals or trying to build something or doing some complicated task. I am begging any woman who is fixated on her face/body to get an intellectually rigorous job or a hobby or focus on a high-intensity sport or some shit. Just do anything that takes you out of your head like I’m not trying to be mean but you can defeat this loser, self-limiting behaviour

fun and pretty, but very clearly written and directed by men.
i liked how it picked at the born sexy yesterday trope, there was some interesting stuff there.
i just don't have patience for men telling stories about women achieving self-actualization via intercourse..... leaves a bad taste in my mouth. like ok I guess the newly reanimated woman with a fresh brain could theoretically be really loving piv sex with mark ruffalo and want to do it all the time. if that's.... interesting to you. it isn't especially interesting to me, and it doesn't ring true for the ways I'd think she'd be exploring the world and her own body.
ok gyns... what did we think of poor things (2023)

Some of our best feminist thinkers and leaders were mothers, adoptive mothers or otherwise the caretakers of young ones. Ppl acting like women who are parents have to take a back seat in feminism is literally disconnected from reality. But what’s new

even complete universal access to magical birth control and abortions that weren’t medically invasive would not remove the most significant obstacles to women’s reproductive autonomy. women and girls need to actually have the right to say no, for real, every time. there has to be a cultural context backing up that right; they can’t be standing alone every time they decide sex with a man isn’t worth the risk or isn’t what they want in any sense
we need to grow up in a world where penis in vagina sex isn’t treated as the ultimate way to feel wanted and compete- worth any risk- so that what women feel they want has some chance of actually being what’s best for them. in a world where women truly had the right to say no and all forms of mutually desired, respectful sex was treated as having the same potential for pleasure/bonding/etc, how many would actually choose to have piv specifically when they knew they really didn’t want to get pregnant? objectively, piv makes no sense when you’re the one who can get pregnant, you don’t want to be pregnant, and tons of other ways to relate physically exist. it makes sense that men want piv on demand- they never get pregnant from it. women have to be made to “want it” enough to override knowledge that unwanted pregnancy is a possible and perfectly preventable outcome
the availability of abortion and birth control is crucial, but it is not sufficient. as long as women are not consistently able to make uncoerced decisions about piv, both will frequently serve to “clean up messes” for men, allowing men to take advantage of women without consequences for him. fully expecting her to swallow any potential costs of these interventions. quietly preventing pregnancy while maintaining unfettered access to piv becomes an additional duty women and girls with male partners are expected to perform

this might be petty but I don't actually care:
i am really not liking the normalization of the word cunt in online spaces. Especially when used by men, of course, but also just in general - it's historically such a charged sexist term, and people very much still use it that way! I feel uncomfortable with the recent proliferation of "serving cunt" "you better not be a cunty ____ when I get there" etc etc etc all over twitter and tiktok and everywhere else. And i think if I brought up that it makes me uncomfortable I'd just be called a prude or told it's not a big deal, it's not a slur anymore.
.... just me?

In general, men in mainstream fiction are rarely raped; western fanfiction has enthusiastically fixed this regrettable oversight. Entire wildly popular subgenres, such as omegaverse, were created so that men could experience misogyny.

I highly recommend that girls and women read
'Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office' by Lois P Frankel
'The Myth of the Nice Girl' by Fran Hauser
if they want to try to undo their female socialisation. I think like a whole new person after taking the advice in those books to heart.

one of the reasons it took me so long to realize I was a lesbian is because of this idea that it takes some getting used to before women can enjoy sex. that the first time is always painful. that it is often uncomfortable even after the first time. that most women can’t orgasm from penetration alone but should still learn to enjoy it (by having penetrative sex again and again and again until one day, maybe, she likes it). that a woman can (and should) train herself to tolerate more and more. that she can (and should) practice with toys, bigger and bigger each time, if she wants to eventually please a man.
this shouldn’t be the message we as women—lesbian, bi, and straight—get from society. we should be given the time to ease into our sexualities at our own pace, not be pressured into physically and mentally training our bodies for someone else’s pleasure.
if there’s anything I want young girls to know, is that if anyone wants them to “get used to” something, they should ask themselves: who benefits from me getting used to this? if it’s not them, if the only thing that excites them is the prospect of being praised (by men they want to be with, by their friends for being “fun and outgoing,” by social circles for being “a good fuck”), it’s not worth it.
