OK this second episode felt so OOC to me. The way Anne unnecessarily snaps at Gilbert on the train really threw everything off. Is this show so adverse to developing the Anne and Gilbert friendship? Why throw in useless, contrite angst to make ~conflict~ when it would've been so crucial to have them connect and talk as friends. At this point we really haven't seen them talk (aside from that scene in the season 1 finale in the cafe). Ugh, I'm so mad. This episode could've been great.

while i do feel your frustration (this episode certainly was not my favorite), keep in mind, it is only the second episode! there is still so much to unfold and AB specifically talked about how this season develops Shirbert’s friendship among other things. 

as far as OOC goes, i think i have to disagree with you there. we’ve seen on several occasions now her snapping at Gilbert in past seasons (though he didn’t deserve it this time, i think that it was just misplaced angst. for example, the same way that the “what is your problem” scene in season two was obviously motivated by something else, aka, her not wanting Gilbert to leave and not knowing how to handle that emotion). while i had hoped she would have grown out of that somewhat by now, i think that the snap was motivated by Marilla’s excessive worrying (which obviously does not sit well with how independent Anne is as a character) but also, on another level, the anxiety and worry she probably felt with the thought of having to go back into the orphanage and face the matron looming over her.

Other important red flags to keep in mind: someone who wants to jump into emotional/financial co-dependence very fast (like moving in together right away, or becoming each other’s only confidantes right away) and won’t take no for an answer; someone who tries to minimize how often you leave the house or interact with other people; someone who threatens you or themselves or your family or pets or possessions or financial future; someone who uses guilt to keep you from leaving a relationship.

Very important reminder: You do not need a reason to leave a relationship. Neither does the other person (or people). A relationship is over when one of the people in it says it’s over, period. Obviously it’s kind to take the end of a long relationship seriously, but abusers and manipulators have lost the right to that conversation. Lie if you need to–your safety is much more important than their feelings.

i’m so confused about Gilbert and Anne’s relationship, they’ve known each other for almost 5 years now, i guess, and they haven’t developed any friendship yet ?? they just talk shouting at each other now, at least in this episode, i hope this improves in the future because it will be hard to watch if it’s continues. I love this series with all my heart and I hope they do not lose their way, and one more thing, practically all the trailer scenes have already past and most of the theories were wrong for the worst lol i’m afraid about what will come yet because i’m finding too many plots to be developed but let’s go with faith lol WHAT YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT IT ALL??? Let me know in my Ask box, cuz my friends don’t whatch Anne and i’m freaking out lol
