Animals
- Frank O Hara
Have you forgotten what we were like then
when we were still first rate
and the day came fat with an apple in its mouth
it’s no use worrying about Time
but we did have a few tricks up our sleeves
and turned some sharp corners
the whole pasture looked like our meal
we didn’t need speedometers
we could manage cocktails out of ice and water
I wouldn’t want to be faster
or greener than now if you were with me O you
were the best of all my days

"These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder, Which, as they kiss, consume. The sweetest honey Is loathsome in his own deliciousness, And in the taste confounds the appetite. Therefore love moderately; long love doth so." - William Shakespeare

This is my new bonsai!
Her name's Lagertha
She's 10cm tall and 6 years old, and she's a blue thorn acacia (acacia erubescens). Her naturally grown counterparts are 10m and taller
You can see her teeny tiny thorns and beautiful foliage. Her leaves also close up at night and unfurl when the sun rises

"The moral of this story is that sometimes, you can attempt to make all the difference in the world, and it still is like trying to stem the tide with a sieve. The moral of this story is that no matter how much we try, no matter how much we want it … some stories just don’t have a happy ending." -Jodi Picoult, Leaving Time

"Then suddenly you’re left all alone with your body that can’t love you and your will that can’t save you." -Rainer Maria Rilke
Behold my forest of snake plants! These are just four of over a dozen hiding around the house, but this is the little family of four chilling together
Snake plants, also known as mother in law's tongue, are really low maintenance. They only need to be watered every 4 to 6 weeks, and they just need to be left alone in light. They also apparently propagate easily (although I'm yet to try propagating)

This is my table of succulents! It's been about a year in the making and includes decorative holders, a terrarium, hydroponics, and two arranged gardens. Here's also close ups of my arranged succulent gardens. One is little and has a couple Hawthornias and a jade plant. The larger one is a bit older and I'm waiting for the succulents to grow bigger and spread. The Aloe is thriving at least.
The next couple pictures are of my hydroponic succulents. The little leaves are growing their own little plants which I'm excited about!
The only succulents I bought in the whole lot of them are the Aloe in the big concrete holder, the terrarium and the bear/ cat/ dog pot plant (the last two were birthday gifts). Everything else is props from the garden outside.
The glass holders (except the terrarium) are recycled holders of different sauces and coffee granules, and the pots are recycled from nursery pot plants once they grew out of them.
