You know, there's nothing to suggest the protagonist of Slay the Princess isn't a lady or non binary. Just because all of the voices in their head are masculine, doesn't mean they are.

Taranis plush toy i made to wish a happy new year to the creators of Fuga: Melodies of Steel.
Original design by Tokitsu Yusuke (https://twitter.com/shimipan/status/1435195851727466505) responsible for the character design, backgrounds, and among others, the design of the Taranis itself!
I made most of it with a sewing machine, then attached the pieces and put the details that make it look cartoony by hand, with both regular sewing thread and mercerized cotton thread.
Fabric marker was used to add depth to the joints of the pieces.
Best wishes to the fans of Fuga as well!

I was inspired to draw this because of the time Wuhan citizens (who could only stay home so as to not infect/get infected) cheered for each other, shouting, “Wuhan!! Jiayou!!” into the night. (You can Google “wuhan jiayou”.)
One other reason I drew this is to allow my budding hatred/racism to dissipate. This makes more sense in the Philippine context; I’ll try to explain. Unlike for others, our gov’t would not listen to the people’s pleas when we asked for a temporary travel ban following the outbreak. Our gov’t didn’t care that the masses cannot even afford to always wash their hands and keep healthy (the only things authorities saying can keep the virus away/keep them from being lethal), and used the excuse that it “may compromise relations between the Philippines and China”. This wasn’t the only instance that our current administration favored China over its citizens, but that’s a topic for another day. In any case, everyone started hating the gov’t, and in our helplessness, we started hating the Chinese as a race (think of it like how students start hating a kid favored by the teacher because they’re helpless to change that). But that’s not right. Not all Chinese eat weird food, not all of them are out to exploit us, not all of them want to treat us like barbarians. Some of them are just living out their own lives in China, minding their own business. In being racist, we incarcerate the innocent along with the guilty. The innocent do not deserve that. And so, at least for the sake of the innocent, I will join in wishing for the wellbeing of their nation, along with others who are affected.
Moving on to the art part:
I used a blue-green color because a half-hour of Google searches showed me that, in China, blue can mean “healing”, and green, “the lack of contaminants”. I suppose however, that my usage of yellow wasn’t exactly Chinese. Universally, it is seen as a symbol of “joy”, and I think joy in the midst of pestilence is a form of resilience. People were cheering each other on from inside their homes. The light(er colors) is from within the window, because that’s where the people are, those who radiate the light.
