I agree that this wouldn't make sense if none of the rich kids ended up being Sentis at the end of all this. Felix even stated to the Red Moon that that is his sister and was heartbroken to destroy it.
My sick twisted brain of course thought of something because it likes to say "no sentiadrien!" But what if Felix believed that Adrien was a senti only to find out that he isn't at all; it was a lie to make Felix feel better about being one. Like Adrien being a senti was a red herring to keep us distracted over something else entirely.
Also... Felix singing. I died.
Many of the rich kids in Paris are sentimonsters
So the most recent episode, “Gabriel Agreste”, showed this weird rich person party, one with a lot of security, even taking people’s phones and making people wear masks to try and conceal their identities. It was really creepy and cultlike and we never found out what the purpose of it was, beyond strengthening alliances. Never found out why the insane security.
My theory is that, in the past, Gabriel and Emilie allowed other people, those they wanted as allies, to create their own sentimonsters, their own customized children, in exchange for being able to call in favors.
It might explain the shots of Audrey and Tomoe when the announcement of the Guardian temple reappearing hit the news.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As well as something else I’ve been wondering about.
When Zoe was first revealed, I tried to figure out the logic behind her being born. Zoe and Chloe look to be pretty close in age, but they can’t be any closer than 9 months, since they aren’t twins. But it just seemed weird to me that Audrey would be willing to put herself through the strain and pain of giving birth, twice, so close to each other… or at all, really. It doesn’t seem to fit her character. Even at the time, people were suggesting that she might’ve used a surrogate.
But now I think there might be another answer. That Chloe or Zoe - or heck, maybe even both - are sentimonsters. No pregnancy involved.
This would all be very, VERY messed up, but considering the kinds of stuff that tends to happen in fiction when rich people have very exclusive parties with high security while wearing animal masks, this would honestly be on the tamer end of possibilities.

I Lost My Soul By Loving You
Ao3
Summary: Soulmates. Soulmates that are bound together but aren't together fade away to nothing until they die of heartbreak. Their skin pales, their bodies weaken, even their passions disappear. Sadly, It happens far more than one could believe, but Luka never believed he would witness that with his own love. Marinette was fading and there was nothing he could do about it. At least, not until one night when the moonlight inspires him to make one of the hardest decisions he would ever have to make. But to protect her and to keep her alive? He would handle the pain just so she wouldn't have to. All he knew was that loving her was a losing game.
Based on the song "Arcade" by Duncan Laurence (ft. FLETCHER)
I Lost My Soul By Loving You
Luka laid in his bed, the sheets only covering the lower half of his body. His hand laid comfortably on his bare chest, feeling the tempo of his heartbeat tapping quietly against his fingertips. The sound may sound normal to anyone on the street, but he knew the tempo was off and close to breaking.
He was close to breaking.
Luka sighed out heavily, turning his head slightly to the left. The room was dark. Night had fallen hours earlier lending to sleep that for him would never come. It was countless nights of chasing dreams, never gaining more than an hour or two at a time, but it wasn’t fruitless. There were priorities that insisted he needed to complete, one of them being a caretaker to the love of his life, one that truly wasn’t his true love. Not his soulmate. Not with the way her skin paled day by day.
He sighed out once again, lifting himself up from his sleepless slumber to sit at the edge of the bed. He bowed his head as he leaned over slightly, placing his elbows on his thighs and folding his hands together. He was trying to gather the thoughts that swarmed in his head, but just like usual, they ended in the same way. It was over and that he was losing a battle that he could never win.
It was not coincidental that the darkness of the room matched his outlook, but just like the moon trying to peak through the sliver of the curtains that covered the large window, he always searched for the light to brighten his revere.
A light mumble broke through his dark thoughts, and just like the moonlight, his own moonlight grounded him back to the room.
Luka turned slightly to see Marinette sleeping soundly on their bed, her once silky raven hair covering her eyes as she dreamed peacefully. She was absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word, but he knew the secret that she had been holding. The secret that would lead to her demise. And Luka knew that he couldn’t continue on with their love for his own selfish reasons.
Luka turned back towards the window, not bothering to lift his head. The tears he was holding back had finally broken through, slowly falling down his cheeks as he could feel the pain of what was to come in the morning. He needed to end things with her, and he was doing it only to protect her; he refused to protect his own heart from the pain. And that’s why he loved her like he did that night. Because he knew it was over. And if he could keep any memory, it would be the shy look on her face as she told him she loved him.
But he knew better. He knew what the universe was telling her. It didn’t matter that they had been together for years. But after that fateful day a year ago… after that sheer encounter with him… she knew it. The blond boy new it. Heck, even he knew it. But Marinette was being Marinette and refused to admit it, mostly to protect him. It was the way she was. But now it was his turn to protect her, and he knew he was refusing to admit it to himself, but the stress of watching her fade made him realize that he couldn’t lie to himself anymore either.
They were soulmates. Marinette and Adrien were soulmates. It was as clear as the moon on a perfectly clear night, and there was nothing he could do about it. He loved Marinette with all his being, but even he could see the damage of keeping her away from Adrien. And if he kept Adrien away from Marinette, they would both surely die.
Adrien looked grim. Pale blonde hair, sullen cheeks, tired features… he barely worked as a model from how destitute he looked.
And Marinette, oh his lovely melody. She wasn’t faring any better. Her porcelain pale skin was fading day by day. Not even the adorable blush that highlighted her cheeks could be seen any longer—Luka had to guess when she blushed by her mannerisms. Her beautiful, rosy, red lips had faded to an almost purply gray. The blues of her eyes, the ones that reminded him of the universe, were also just as gray as her lips. Even her raven locks looked dull and dry.
She was gray and slowly becoming lifeless. He now had to care for her, keeping her with him closely to ensure she wouldn’t fall or hurt herself. She was constantly tired, deep, dark circles under her eyes that had become a permanent fixture on her face, and the loss of her passions? She didn’t draw or create anymore. And this was all because she wasn’t with her soulmate.
“Luka?” Luka turned to the tired, gravely sound, but not before he wiped the still damp tear tracks from his cheeks. “Are you okay?”
He smiled. “Of course, my melody. I’m just inspired by the moonlight tonight.”
Marinette laid her head back down, snuggling further into the pillow. “And I hope the moonlight inspires you to go back to sleep. You need some rest.”
He chuckled before leaning over and pressing a loving kiss to her forehead. “I’ll go to sleep soon. I love you.”
Marinette yawned out, before mumbling back those words that he will cherish forever. “Love you too.”
Luka stared back towards the moonlight. He knew that he would always love her, but he would rather lose her like this instead of losing her forever and never seeing her bright smile ever again.
He smiled sadly, sighing out one more heavy sigh before resigning to his decision. He laid back down and faced towards her, keeping her close to his heart as if she had always been his.
He closed his eyes as the peace of his decision took hold in his soul. He didn’t lie when he said the moonlight inspired him, it was just not in the way she believed. She had inspired him to let her go, and that is enough to keep him going.

Watching the miraculous ladybug fandom as someone who isn’t part of it is wild because like…there are four different ships that all only involve the same two people, everyone is freaking out because the OTP has confessed their love except it’s already happened 1204 times now and they are either too oblivious or get their minds wiped or some crap, no one can make up their minds about whether chloe is a good person or not, you watch as as it hits the top spot on tumblr trending because it’s the season finale but then a week later it’s trending again because of another episode and you’re confused and then you find out that practically the entire. series. is being released out of order

Heated Encounters
Chapter 26
Ao3
<< Prev || Next >>
Marinette was sound asleep as he checked on her for the fourth time in the span of two hours. Adrien knew an omega would need rest but given that she had slept through her lunch, and it was now close to dinner—well, he was now beginning to worry. He frowned as he kneeled into the nest, slowly removing the strands of hair that had stuck to her forehead. She stirred slightly at the touch, but never fully woke up from her slumber.
“Aren’t you going to wake her?” Plagg asked, his frown giving away his concern. “I’m pretty sure she should be awake by now.”
Adrien never took his eyes off his mate but hummed in agreement. “I’m going to give her another hour.” He pressed his palm to her forehead, checking to see if she had a fever. “She doesn’t seem to be warmer than earlier. I don’t think she has a fever that she’s sleeping through.”
Adrien remembered reading that omegas were warmer than normal during their heats. Every time he touched Marinette’s skin, he felt that warmth, but it was not in excess, nor did it feel like it could be a fever. He did read that there have been times omegas overheated from excess sleep or overzealous love making, but that was nothing a little rest and a lukewarm bath could help counterbalance it. But of course, if there was anything done that couldn’t combat the fever, then a call to emergency services would be warranted.
“You must have really tired her out with all your gross mating rituals.” Plagg gagged for good measure earning a scowl from his charge. It helped break the tension that started to fill the space.
Adrien scrunched up his nose in distaste. He wouldn’t deny that his acting helped him feel a tiny bit better. “You know what? I’m not even going to respond to that.”
Adrien slowly stood up, eyeing his mate once more before leaving the room. He checked to see if the food he planned for dinner would be enough or even satiate Marinette after she skipped lunch, and he agreed that if more was needed, they could enjoy any other quick bites from the fridge to fill her up in the meantime.
After one look around the heat room to ensure it was clean enough to his standards, Adrien plopped himself on the couch with a tired groan. He sunk into the couch as his head settled comfortably on the backrest, and he closed his eyes to enjoy the quiet solitude for the moment. His hand fell perfectly on his thigh, and visions of Marinette played wonderfully in his mind.
A small smile graced his lips. He couldn’t imagine a world without her. The fact that he was able to share this intimate moment with her was more than he ever thought possible, and he couldn’t wait for the future where he would bite her and claim her as his.
Adrien clenched his fist as he thought about proposing right then and there. Why does that thought keep popping into his head? He knew that he was being too brash, but then again, why should he wait when he knew they were soulmates? They were lifelong partners established by the universe! He would think that the universe would know better about setting people up if they weren’t meant to be together…
Adrien scowled at his racing thoughts. He knew he had to be rational though. They needed to finish school first before the idea of marriage could be brought up. Maybe even dating for longer than the month they had been, even though they had been friends for years and knew anything and everything about each other. Maybe they should consider living together to make sure they were compatible in that way. Maybe they should—"
“Alpha~”
A sweet sound called out in the most melodic way, interrupting Adrien’s wavering thoughts and causing him to open his eyes in search of the sound.
He didn’t have to search far to see his love leaning towards him, her silver eyes gazing into his as she bared her breasts in front of him. Adrien’s gaze lowered as he noticed her peaked nipples, while her skin prickled with goosebumps in anticipation of what was to come.
“Hello, my love,” Adrien responded with a smile, his voice low and sultry.
Marinette responded by climbing onto his lap, her core siting precariously over his growing bulge. Her lips grazed his, teasing him further as she rolled her hips.
“Tease.”
She smirked. “Better to help you along.”
Adrien responded by placing his hands on her hips, steadying her as he rutted against her core. He couldn’t help but smirk as her head rolled back, a low moan spilling from her lips.
“Is that better?”
She responded with a hum, her head rolling towards him and opening her eyes slightly to gaze into his peridot orbs. After a heartbeat, Marinette leaned forward, pressing her lips against his in a slow kiss. Her hands pressed lightly on his chest, feeling the increase of his heartbeat through the tips of her fingers. Slowly, her fingertips slid up towards his neck, wrapping the digits together at the base of his skull. Tiny tendrils of hair tickled her skin, and she couldn’t help but allow her fingers to card through his hair in a way that he loved.
Marinette tightened her embrace, pressing her chest against his as their lips continued their ministrations. She quickened the pace, simultaneously grinding against him in search of some relief.
Adrien’s hands slid towards her butt, pressing his fingertips into the soft flesh to help guide her along. The hums that slipped through their pressed lips lit a fire in his belly, and soon the clothes he was wearing was too much to bear.
Adrien pulled away, giving themselves a moment to gasp for air. Before Marinette could dive in for more, Adrien slipped his fingers away from her skin and pulled his shirt over his head. Marinette bit her bottom lip as she gazed over his body, her fingers unconsciously reaching out and touching the divots that graced his body from his many workouts.
He groaned as the soothing touches sent shivers up his spine, and he closed his eyes when her hands searched low to his hips. She barely touched hem of his pants before he opened his eyes and growled with want. Marinette quickly removed her fingers from his skin, surprised at the low growl he emitted, but her eyes never showed fear. But there was an intensifying need to have him in her, a need that increased ten-fold as the lust in his eyes became more pronounced and the sultry pheromones he emitted filled the air.
Adrien placed his hands back on her thighs, his palms lightly grazing her skin as he moved to place his hands back on her hips. He rutted against her, causing her to close her eyes and moan once again. But before she could look towards him again to silently ask for more, he cupped her ass again, causing her to mewl out in delight.
He chuckled slightly and seductively, and Marinette opened her eyes to see what he could be planning to do. When she did, she noticed the mischievous smirk on his face, only to suddenly be picked up by the back of her legs and tossed onto her back on the couch. Adrien nestled perfectly between her legs.
“Alpha!” She squealed out in shock that she couldn’t help but giggle after.
Adrien responded with a cheeky smile before leaning down and pressing his lips to hers. She brought her hands up and cupped his cheeks, ensuring that he couldn’t escape her grasp again. He fed into her need, fervently bruising her lips until there was a need for air. He pressed kisses against her jaw before kissing along her throat, teasing her gland with his fangs until a gasp spilled from her lips.
“Fuck. Adrien. Please.” Marinette cried out, rolling her hips in search of friction. She needed him and she needed him now.
Adrien pressed his lips to hers in a chaste kiss before leaning back as she searched for more.
“Soon.”
Slipping away from her for just a moment longer, he slipped the pants off his body and tossed it into another pile of the floor. He hovered back over her and lightly grazed his lips with hers, teasing the supple skin in the way he knew she liked.
One, two, three chaste kisses before delving into her lips, and Adrien couldn’t help but feel warm at the way her claws scratched at his skin. Her fingertips scraped up towards his neck, and the feeling of her fingers carding through his hair gave him a rush of need to fill her with his seed.
Adrien settled comfortably between her legs as he continued to kiss her, his cock grazing the entrance of her core. He could feel her trying to seek solace by lifting her hips and hoping that he could just enter in her, but he knew he could tease her just a bit longer before she growled at him in impatience.
He placed his hand on her hip once more, sliding his palm to her knee while simultaneously lifting it up to place it on his hip. He slid his hand back down slowly, making her hum out in appreciation of his touch. He cupped her ass once again while his lips left hers and teased the skin on her neck.
Marinette continued to moan and roll her hips at his incessant teasing, just wishing he would fuck her. Her mind was hazy with lust, the need for his cock to wreck her as she milked him for every drop of his cum. She needed to feel full, to feel her belly expand as he filled her with his seed. To be knotted by him and held close as his hand comforted the stretch of her skin as they rested from their love making.
“Alpha…” She called out quietly, the feeling of her climax closely reaching its peak before he even entered her.
Adrien could see that his slow touches were affecting her, and he couldn’t help but give in to her quiet calling of his name. His lips pressed tender kisses to her collarbone, trailing slowly up to her gland before grazing his fangs along it. He pressed pressure against the gland as he pushed himself slowly in her, causing Marinette to gasp out and filling her up completely in one thrust.
The pressure of his fangs and slow movement of his cock was enough to bring her over the edge, and Marinette couldn’t help but hold onto him tightly as her body convulsed from the intensity. Adrien waited until her body came down from her high, before thrusting into her rhythmically to keep her satisfied.
Marinette impatiently wanted more, the first climax not being enough to satiate her. She wrapped her legs around his waist and lifted her hips, helping him fuck her more deeply, and giving in to the need of needing to feel more of him. What she was already feeling wasn’t enough. She needed more.
“Fuck me harder, alpha.” She slipped past her lips as he kissed her fervently, and he gave into her need as he increased his speed.
Adrien cupped her ass once again, lifting her hips up slightly to fuck her deeper and harder. Their intermingled moans filled the room as the increase in speed helped her along, and he didn’t know if he could keep this speed without coming before she was fully content.
“So… close…” Marinette cried out in between gasps, and Adrien knew he needed to just hold on just a bit longer. He adjusted his angle as he continued to thrust harder into her and knew that it was a perfect recipe as her face contorted in pleasure at the feeling. Not long after, she cried out as she climaxed, and Adrien continued to fuck her until she came down from her high.
He slipped out of her, making her hum out in displeasure, before helping her flip onto her hands and knees. She settled her head and chest onto a pillow as his hands held her hips in the air, a beautiful sight to behold as Adrien aligned himself with her core. He teased her entrance once more with the tip of his cock and loved how both his length and her pussy was glistening with her juices.
He slowly pushed himself into her, once again enjoying the gasp that left her lips as he filled her up again. He settled in her for a moment, giving her a chance to catch her breath, before beginning with slow thrusts. He focused on her, feeling her groan and hum in pleasure as he pulled out and thrusted in in a rhythmic pattern.
Adrien could feel his arousal growing once again as he continued his slow ministrations. He could feel that she was getting closer to her third climax, and he knew that he needed to finish this well. Adrien increased his momentum, listening to her mewls increase as he rolled his hips and fucked her into oblivion. He held her hips steady as his right hand reached around to tease her clit, and he knew when her mewls intensified, that he found the rhythm she needed to get off one last time.
Adrien chased his own orgasm, increasing to the speed he needed to climax. He waited patiently as she reached her peak, letting go the moment she fell over the edge to do the same.
Marinette cried out as she hit the peak, with Adrien crying out along with her as he filled her fully. He held her hips as his own hips slowed to a roll, helping them both come down from their high. They were panting out, Marinette continuing to mewl as his hand slipped from her hip and onto her expanding belly. She hummed out as he caressed the stretched skin, mewling out again as he felt the familiar swelling within her. He knotted her to hold the cum from spilling out, and she hummed at his loving touch as they calmed down with completely.
Adrien held her close as he helped her lie down comfortably beside him, his hand continuously rubbing the skin on her belly. Her hand covered his as her eyes shut closed, relishing in the feeling of both their heartbeats beating rapidly together.
“So… good…” Marinette mumbled out as she snuggled up against him.
“Mhm.” Adrien managed to mumble out too, his eyes also shut as he relished in the afterglow.
They laid there together as they focused on each other, not knowing that there were plans out there waiting to destroy the love that they shared.
---
“Nathalie,” Gabriel called to her on the intercom, “could you come in here for a moment? We just need to go over some things.”
“Yes, sir.” Nathalie responded back before leaving her desk, gathering her tablet and the files she had completed that morning.
Nathalie had spent the morning sending countless emails about the upcoming Gabriel show, a fashion show that was coming sooner than most shows she had helped plan in the past. When Marinette had gone into heat, Gabriel’s mind went into overdrive, not stopping as he delved back into designing the line he had wanted to create since the beginning of his career. He wanted it to be perfect, so it never came into complete fruition, and with the passing of his late wife, the line had never seen the light of day again.
With Adrien and Marinette’s connection blossoming the way it did, and the love he could see in his son for his mate, Gabriel’s inspiration peaked once again. The flow of drawing inspired by their love helped create a beautiful array of concept dresses that could fit Marinette, and a line of designer outfits that Adrien could wear that would match the concept without missing a beat.
It was wonderful to see Gabriel be inspired once again, and it was wonderful to see him smile and laugh like that without someone questioning his professionalism.
Nathalie smiled as she recollected the moment Gabriel entered in the heat room when the two mates were indisposed, and she couldn’t help but chuckle as his face was redder than a tomato when he chose not to listen to her heeding words.
Her smile still lingered as she entered Gabriel’s office, and it seemed like Nathalie was in a world of her own as Gabriel looked up and noticed the wrinkles around her eyes and the small smirk still evident on her lips. He couldn’t help but smile at her innocuous grin, and he waited until she realized she lost the professionalism she was used to presenting whenever she was around him.
He loved moments like this with her, and that was the reason he was falling in love with her. He will always love his late wife—she was his soulmate in every sense of the word—but Nathalie had something that kept the dwindling fire that was in his heart alive. She was his savior when days were grim and falling apart, a motherly support to Adrien whenever he needed it, and a sense of hopefulness when all hope had left his soul. She was his partner when he chased after the Miraculous jewels of Ladybug and Chat Noir and was also his confidant when he thought that he needed to give up that part of his life.
Without her, he would be lost. And without Adrien’s blessing, he wouldn’t be able to take the next step.
“Something amusing, Nathalie?” Gabriel leaned against his desk and placed his chin on his open palm, something that Nathalie would ever believe that she would see him act so loosely.
Nathalie cleared her throat as her professionalism came back and tilted her head at his lack of professionalism.
“Are you okay, sir?”
Gabriel pressed his lips into an amused smile before leaning back into his chair. His elbows pressed against the armrest as his fingertips came together, and he looked almost menacingly if it were not for the amused smile still present on his lips.
“I’m fine, Nathalie. Truly fine.” He started. “I wanted you to come in here to talk about something that has been on my mind.” Nathalie tilted her head slightly to side, unsure of where this conversation was going. Gabriel stood up and walked around his desk to sit on the desk in front of her, making sure that he was speaking to her at her eyesight, before grabbing the items in her hand and placing it behind him on the top of his desk. He then grabbed her hand and smiled as he watched the blush appear on the apples of her cheeks.
“If it’s alright with you, I would love it if you would call me Gabriel.”
Nathalie blushed harder as he rubbed his thumb along the tops of her fingers.
“Um—sir—sure—” Nathalie closed her eyes and took in a deep breath, her embarrassment starting to take hold as she stuttered out a response. She felt like a lovesick schoolgirl once again. When she felt ready, she smiled as her voice rang sweetly with his name. “Gabriel.”
Gabriel’s smile widened as she finally said his real name, and a feeling of warmth filled his soul.
“I love the sound of that.”
Nathalie ducked her head slightly as she tried to hide the blush from intensifying further, but the subtlety in his voice, and the clear indication of love in his eyes was not helping her fall. That was until his face changed into something more serious. And at that, Nathalie’s whole world just fell into the abyss of the unknown.
When Gabriel didn’t say anything further, Nathalie turned her palm until Gabriel’s hand fell into hers, and she squeezed it, hoping to give him some reassurance to say what was on his chest.
Gabriel looked up, his eyes filled with sadness and guilt. The look was scaring her.
“Gabriel?” Nathalie took one step further into his space and lifted her free hand, pressing it up to his cheek. “What’s wrong?”
He sighed, taking a bold chance and wrapping his arms around her waist, bringing her body close to his. He bowed his head until his head touched her torso, hiding the guilt from his eyes as he bared his feelings to her.
“I’m so sorry. I’m sorry for taking advantage of our friendship. I’m sorry for taking advantage of our partnership. I’m sorry for making you sick from using the Peacock miraculous and asking you to help me for the sake of my late wife.”
“Gabriel, no. Don’t—”
“No Nathalie.” Gabriel interrupted her, wanting to make her understand how guilty he felt. “You stood by my side all these years while I handled the death of Emilie…badly in some moments. You became a mother figure to Adrien when he needed one, and a parent when I couldn’t hold that title. You took care of me when I felt like I couldn’t handle the life I was dealt with.” Gabriel sighed deeply before leaning back and looking into her eyes. He could see the unshed tears in her own eyes. “And I know that I couldn’t help falling for the woman who loved me for the monster I had become and for the man that I have been trying to mend.”
Nathalie gasped at his words. For all the years she had held her silent feelings for her boss, her partner, and her pack leader, she couldn’t help but feel shocked at hearing the words she had always wanted to hear.
“Gabriel…” She whispered quietly.
“Now I know that this is a lot. And I’m sorry for coming out of nowhere with this. But I can’t deny my feeling for you any longer.” He looked to the side, afraid of her rejection to his words. “But I don’t want to live without you as my mate any longer. I don’t want—”
“—Gabriel—”
“—to live a life without meaning—”
“—Gabriel—”
“—to… to—”
“—Gabriel!”
Gabriel looked up in shock at her disruption, but it was short lived. Nathalie cusped both of his cheeks in her hands and uttered the simple words he had hoped to hear.
“I love you.”
He understood the full meaning of those words when her lips crashed into his, leaving any worrying questions left unspoken.

Heated Encounters
Chapter 25
Ao3
<<; Prev || Next >>
Adrien sighed. He leaned his elbows against the cold countertop, his head bowed low as he contemplated his next steps. He had showered, cleaned the kitchen top to bottom, and even prepped the snacks that he would feed Marinette when she woke up from her nap. Plagg had already bothered him for another round of cheese, and even stayed around long enough to watch his favorite show while chowing down on the wheel.
He managed to slip into their bedroom every once in a while, only spending a few minutes as he watched his mate sleep peacefully in her nest. He couldn’t help but smile every time she spoke nonsense in her dream-like state, and he continued to fall for her harder with every tiny snore and dribble of drool that slipped from her lips.
Even as he continued his work, he couldn’t help but feel a building sense of dread from the notification his father had sent. Now that there was nothing left to take care of, nothing of immediate importance standing in his way, the feeling of dread only sat like a stone in the pit of his stomach. He continued to contemplate, continued to think over what his father could possibly need at this time of day. Maybe it was to scold at him for rudely telling him to fuck off. Not like it wasn’t justified; his father really had a knack for interrupting them during their more intimate moments.
Adrien let out another sigh. He ultimately decided that he couldn’t wait any longer to answer his father. He could already sense the feeling of disappointment from not answering him immediately. Maybe he could use taking care of Marinette as a valid excuse? But then the guilt of using his mate as an excuse to avoid speaking to his father made his heart clench in pain.
Adrien looked up and narrowed his eyes. He could feel his phone mocking him as it sat quietly on the countertop. No one else had bothered him in the last two hours, and he couldn’t decide whether it was a good sign or not.
He reached out to grab the small device, hesitating for a second as he swiped his password on autopilot. He stopped and stared at the photo of he and Marinette, smiling at the image as he remembered the moment that the photo was taken. He lingered for a moment, the smiling only faltering when a carnal instinct brushed through him.
No. He wouldn’t allow the nonsense that his father was about to place on him affect him in any way. He was his own person with a mate that was bound to him. The anger only continued to fuel him, the annoyance of his father needing to invade their space as they went through this intimate and hectic chapter of their lives.
Feeling confident in his decision, Adrien called his father, choosing to ignore the request to visit him in person.
“Gabriel.” His father answered, not even giving his son the familial response.
“Father.” Adrien responded curtly, a snarl nearly slipping from his lips.
“Ah, Adrien. I apologize. I didn’t see who had called me. I was busy cutting a piece of fabric for a prototype I had designed this morning. Marinette had inspired me.”
The anger rising up to Adrien’s throat extinguished within that moment.
“Marinette… inspired you?” He questioned, unsure. “How?”
He could hear his father chuckle, followed by the minuscule clink of scissors hitting his table.
“Insatiable love.” His father answered curtly, causing Adrien to choke on his spit.
Adrien could hear his father continue his chuckling.
“I should have said that a little better, but your response to that is quite amusing.”
Adrien furrowed his brows at the turn this conversation was heading. “What do you mean, ‘insatiable love’?”
Gabriel paused a moment, while simultaneously grabbing the scissors and gliding it along the table as he cut some fabric. “I had thought about creating a line that described the silent moments of love between mates. Moonlight that glows on the skin, heated touches, warm thoughts when the fog settles in… those situations that can never be fully explained in words. It was something that would tickle my creative juices, but it also had been a fleeting thought for a few years off and on. But when your mother passed, I shoved that idea away, never really wanting to create it as the grief was too much.”
Adrien frowned as he listened to his father’s change in tone. It was brisk, but it could be heard, and Adrien understood why the line never came to fruition.
“But seeing you. Seeing the way that Marinette loves you and cares about you… well, that thought once again came to my mind. I also can see the love you have for her… the need to protect her and do whatever it took to get her home safety when she unexpectedly went into heat. Well, that’s not just your primal instincts kicking in. That’s the love you have for her and the need to protect her from the world.”
Adrien smiled, allowing the words to sink in.
“Yeah, you’re right. It wasn’t just my instincts. I love her with everything I have. I would do anything to protect her and keep her safe from harm. You know?”
“I do. I can see the way you two are. Your relationship reminds me of mine with your mother. And that is all that I ever wanted for you.”
Adrien hummed in agreement, but stayed silent for a moment. He was about to speak when his father interrupted his thoughts with a shameful sigh.
“Listen, Adrien, I wanted to apologize.” Adrien could hear the defeat in his voice, and he assumed that his father removed his glasses from his face to pinch the bridge of his nose. “I’m glad that you chose to call me instead of seeing me directly, and I can only assume its because of my overbearing nature.”
“You can say that again,” Adrien mumbled to himself, but he could hear his father clear his throat in response.
“I heard that…” Gabriel responded with a lit of authority, but it was quickly brushed away. “But it’s true. You have every right to be angry at how I have been acting towards you, keeping you from your mate during her heat. You are a mature alpha now. You have a mate that you are bound to protect and care for. And soon, you’ll have your own family of pups to take care of. It’s not my place to interrupt whenever I feel its needed.”
“Then why did you?”
Adrien could hear his father sigh, but it wasn’t one of annoyance. It was full of sadness and longing.
“It’s true when I meant that your relationship reminds me of mine, but that’s not the only reason. Marinette reminds me so much of your mother. The caring nature, the tenacity of her love for you, and even going as far as protecting you—which, while it is a normal omega characteristic, it is not uncharacteristic for her. She’s always protected you since the beginning of your friendship, and that is valuable in someone you want to spend your life with.
“Along with that,” Gabriel continued, “just seeing the way you care for her reminds me of how I cared for your mother during her first heat. You are taking care of her with maturity and tenacity that I can only be proud of the man you are becoming. It only pains me knowing that you are going through all these momentous moments without your mother here to see it.”
Adrien bowed his head, trying his hardest to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall. He missed his mother dearly, and hearing the way his father spoke about her had begun to break the wall he had carefully built up.
“I just wanted to be involved, but in all honesty, It’s so outside of my realm of understanding. Your mother would have handled it a lot better than me.”
“It seems that Nathalie has been helping you.” Adrien said with a small smile, hoping that his father could hear the tenderness in his tone.
He fully smiled when he heard his father chuckle.
“You’re completely right about that one. I would be completely lost without her.”
“Yeah…” Adrien drawled for a second, turning to hear the sounds of shuffling coming from the bedroom. He waited a moment longer to see if Marinette was waking up, but he was met with silence. “You know, you’re allowed to be happy. I know that Nathalie makes you happy.”
There was a slight pause, a moment of silence that Adrien felt he might have pushed the comment to far. He was about to retort, come up with a response to push that thought aside and help them move past this awkward conversation, but what his father said stunned him.
“She does.”
Adrien could hear the smile through his tone, the confident sigh that meant he had thought about this too.
“Then you should. You’re allowed to. I love Nathalie. She’s been there for me since mom passed away. I don’t think I could imagine my life without her.”
“So you give me your blessing?” Gabriel asked, hopeful.
Adrien chuckled. “One hundred times over.”

Lila looked down at her phone, waiting for Jordan to message her back. She needed something to do to release the anger that was building within her, but her toy wasn’t responding to the frantic texts and phone calls she was bombarding him with. Instead of fucking away the stress, she was now stewing in the hatred she had for the brat and her lackeys.
The little seed of doubt she had slipped into her classmates thoughts quickly unraveled the moment Nino and Alya showed off the photo of Marinette and Adrien in bed together. The image made her sick, wanting nothing more than to tear into that bitch for stealing away the one alpha that could have given her everything in the world that she deserved.
What’s worse was that she had to take back not only one lie, but also fix the lie that she had planted on social media with a new lie to corroborate her story. At the latest afternoon photo shoot with the #Gabriel fam. Adrien is truly enjoying himself this afternoon. It’s amazing working with this team on this beautiful Tuesday afternoon!,  she wrote under the image of her in front of the photo shoot setup, with Adrien in the background speaking with the photographer. His back was turned towards her, his arms stretched outwards while he animatedly talked about something with a smile on his face.
The lie worked perfectly until the notifications started pouring in through the group text chat she was part of. There were emoji explosions and chatter squealing about the image of the two mates, and Lila had to explain that her social media image was of a past photo shoot and she could only post it a few weeks after as per her NDA agreement. It’s how influencer accounts work, she explained, and that answer satiated the classmates from digging deeper into the lies.
That was until Alya pointedly asked if the photo shoot for the afternoon was still happening since Adrien was clearly involved with his mate. That made her backtrack and state that Nathalie messaged her during lunch that the shoot was cancelled for this week, with a reschedule sometime in the near future. She couldn’t forget adding a nonchalant, I guess things changed quickly between them, bullshit line to satiate the aspiring journalist also, and Lila smiled when everyone moved past it and onto the next sickeningly cute thing.
Another notification came through, causing Lila to growl at the noise, that was until she noticed the email notification that popped up with the subject line flashing on the screen.
Lila smirked. Maybe she did have a plan to destroy Marinette after all.

“I know what you’re saying, but I don’t think it’s not impossible.”
“Really? So, you’re saying that it’s possible that Hawkmoth just stopped trying?”
“I mean, maybe?” Nino shrugged, before stepping to the side to give another classmate room to move past him down the hallway. “We haven’t seen him around in the last few weeks. Maybe after the last fight, he just chose to give up?”
Alya thought for a moment as she closed her locker. “Nah, I highly doubt that, but who knows. I think what’s more surprising is that we haven’t seen Ladybug or Chat Noir doing their patrols over the last few days. From my accounts, along with the sightings section of the Ladyblog, no one has spotted them. And they either go out together, or separately, and it’s been that way for years. But seriously. No one has seen them since Saturday.”
The couple walked through the large double doors, making their way to their first class. The hallways were loud with students running to their next class or chatting about how their evenings were, but the two bespeckled betas stuck together to continue their conversation.
“But it’s only Tuesday? It doesn’t really mean anything.”
Alya chuckled. “True. Maybe the heroes are taking a break? They deserve it anyway.”
“Or maybe they finally matured. I wonder if Ladybug is an alpha or an omega?”
“Oh, she’s definitely an alpha. Has to be.” Alix cut into the conversation from behind them, pushing her backpack up her shoulder at the same time. “She’s a leader and always in charge. Plus, you see the way she handles the villains. Her plans are bomb.”
Alya nodded as Nino begged the question: “So would that make Chat an omega or a beta?”
“Probably a beta. I’ve seen him take charge whenever Ladybug needs him to take over. It would make sense.” Alya added, with Alix agreeing to the answer with a nod.
“Yeah, most likely,” Nino said as he settled into his seat. “He’s a good leader when he needs to be.”
“You know what would be interesting? If they were going through their maturity… together.” Alya added with a Cheshire cat-like grin. The sight made Nino purse his lips in amusement.
“Like Ladybug is the one rutting with Chat Noir giving himself to her like an actual cat in heat? Dude, I don’t even know if I want to imagine that. Chat Noir being the one to have kittens? Ironic.”
“Yeah, right.” Alix snorted, placing her feet up on her desk as she continued to partake in the conversation. “Ladybug doesn’t see Chat like that. I mean, Chat even said they’re friends. I doubt they are together at this moment, doing the deed for the sake of France.”
Alya shook her head, tapping her finger against her cheek. “I don’t know, Alix. They are the ultimate power couple with goals. Honestly, I can’t believe they aren’t a couple with how close they get in battle half the time.”
“It all depends on mates, mate.” She winked and it was Nino’s turn to snort.
“Man, if Adrien was here, he would laugh at that joke.”
“And Mari would just roll her eyes and hit her head against the table. That girl loves to hate his jokes.”
“Oh, how is Marinette, Alya?” Mylene wondered out loud, cutting into the conversation. The trio turned to see that others in the class also wanted to know, waiting for Alya to confirm how the two mates were doing. “Have you heard anything?”
Alya shook her head. “Nope. She hasn’t been near her phone yet. At least, I’m not even sure Sabine or Tom had given the Agreste’s her stuff yet. I brought it over after school, but I have no idea.”
“And my bro hasn’t messaged me either. She must be keeping him busy.”
“I don’t know.” Lila interrupted her sickeningly sweet voice cutting through the hoots and hollers that erupted from the boys in class. “I was told that Adrien would still be doing photoshoots with me throughout the week. I don’t think Gabriel would have him working if Marinette truly needed him.”
Alya and Nino both furrowed their brows, not believing a word that she was saying.
“Really?” Alya questioned, hoping that the Italian would say something to confirm their intuition.
“Yeah. See?” Lila pulled out her phone, pulling up the calendar app that Nathalie had assigned to her. “This afternoon, I have a modeling session with Adrien at Gabriel’s fashion house. We have a two-hour slot to fill with photos for the upcoming spring line. It’s going to be absolutely fantastic.”
“That doesn’t make any sense.” Alya furrowed her brows in confusion. “They were all over each other yesterday when her heat hit. She couldn’t stop drooling all over him and if it wasn’t for Nino telling him to knock it off, he probably would have fucked her all over the classroom. I doubt she wouldn’t need him right now.”
Lila nonchalantly shrugged her shoulders. “I haven’t been told otherwise. Normally, I would have been notified by Mr. Agreste’s personal assistant if my photoshoot was going to be rescheduled. Nathalie is usually on top of that, given how Mr. Agreste is a busy man, so it would have been done immediately if Marinette truly needed ‘being taken care of’ yesterday. I have yet to be told, so that means that Adrien would still be continuing his photoshoots with me.”
The class erupted with murmurs of confusion from this possible turn of events, making Lila smirk at how well the rumor twisted the appearance of the two mates. Alya turned to Nino with a confused look on her face, missing the well-timed smirk that curled the liar’s lips.
Nino pursed his own lips as he searched for something to retort with, but nothing could be said. He truly had no idea what was going on with Adrien’s work-life this week, and he didn’t have proof that things between Marinette and Adrien were flourishing sexually. Instead, Nino quietly placed his palm on Alya’s thigh, squeezing the muscle in comfort.
“Good morning, class.” The teacher announced as he walked into the classroom and shutting the door in the process.
The sound of the door clicking shut quieted the whispers and conversations between the students, but the silent thoughts of confusion were still evident on some of their faces as they gathered their books.
Nino squeezed Alya’s thigh once more, nodding his head to silently say they would figure it out. She smiled back in understanding, squeezing his hand in return. They both turned to face the teacher, Alya feeling slightly happier that she had her mate beside her as they figured out what Lila was up to for the sake of their friends. But as the teacher started his lesson, Lila sat and stared at the betas, her smile turning into a sneer.
She would gain Adrien as her mate. She just needed to plot her way to Adrien’s lap without a certain baker in her way.
---
“Come on, Marinette. You need to just finish this.”
“But I’m sleepy…”
“You can sleep in a little bit.” The alpha bribed her once more, finally getting the new omega to eat the last bite of croissant he had given her. “See? All done. Now I don’t have to pester you until lunch.”
“Can I go to sleep now?” She let out a long yawn, adding in an adorable little squeak at the end. She heard the sound of a deep chuckle, causing her to stop and turn to scowl at the source.
“You’re adorable.” Adrien leaned over and pressed a kiss to her nose making Marinette smile.
“You’re just saying that to get into my pants.”
Adrien shook his head at her nonsense, but he couldn’t help but tease her for it.
“But you’re not wearing any pants.”
Marinette looked down and let out a ‘hmph’ not wanting to agree with him after he made her eat instead of sleep.
“Can I go to bed now?”
“Almost.” He said, grabbing the package near him. He opened a slot, pulling out a white round tablet and handing it to her in his open palm. “You need to take your pill first. Can’t have any pups yet, remember?”
At first, there was a look of sadness, but then it cleared to a resigned smile. “Thank you, Adrien. You’re right.”
Adrien was surprised. He thought Marinette’s rational part of her thoughts would still be befogged and stubborn, but she was able to make a good decision with his reminder. Maybe her heat wouldn’t last longer than everyone said it would.
He watched as she popped the pill in her mouth and swallow it with a glass of water, before placing the glass down and giving him a lopsided smile.
“I’m not ready yet for that. One day though. I want to have all the pups.”
Adrien smiled fondly as he placed his hand over hers. “I’m glad. I want pups, too. But let’s finish school first.”
“Mhm.” She agreed with a nod, looking at him with a pleading gaze.
Adrien knew exactly what she needed, leaning down and planting a sweet kiss on her lips.
“Yum.”
They both chuckled at her response, only stopping when a notification sound rang from their room.
“Is it okay if I get that? After my dad tried to talk to us through the door, I’m not sure if he’s trying to reach me or not.”
“You can get that. I’m okay.” She crossed her arms and settled her face onto her arms. “I think I’m just going to rest my eyes in the nest for a little bit. The hormones are kicking my butt.”
“It’s a very cute butt.” He smirked, and she buried her eyes into her arms to hide. Her skin warmed with a blush and he couldn’t help but love it. “Come on, I’ll walk you there and you can rest. I’m going to check what that notification was, and then clean up the kitchen. Do you want to shower first?”
Marinette thought about it for a moment but decided that rest was more important. “When I wake up, can we have sex in the shower? That way I can get cleaned and get boned at the same time.”
Adrien choked on his spit at her bluntness, loving this bold version of his once very shy mate.
“Okay,” he managed to gasp out, clearing his throat once more. “Let’s go. I’ll settle you into your nest, okay?”
“Mhm.” Marinette nodded, reaching out to Adrien’s waiting hand.
They walked into their room and he helped her lay down, pressing a sweet kiss to the top of her head before heading to where his phone was hiding. He unlocked the screen and went to the latest message, noticing it was a message from Nino.
“Oh, Nino was the one who texted me. I wonder what’s up.”
Marinette snuggled further into the sheets, pressing her nose into the soft fabric as she settled to sleep.
“What—” she yawned once more, “—what did he say?”
Adrien read the message to himself first, frowning at the nonsense that was written in front of him. When Marinette noticed he didn’t say anything in return, she looked up at him, frowning in concern as continued to stare at his phone.
“What’s wrong?”
“Lila told the class that we were going to be doing a photo shoot this afternoon. Nino questioned it, saying that doesn’t sound right, and Lila said that it seemed like you didn’t need me so my dad just kept the schedule going. He said she showed them the calendar appointments saying we were scheduled together.”
Marinette sat up and furrowed her brows in confusion at first, but then a burst of anger ran through her veins. She bared her fangs and let out a growl, making Adrien stare at her in concern and wonderment. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her tightly, trying his best to calm her down with his touch.
“Where did she get that from?” She growled out, the anger coming in waves. She looked up at him with a pleading expression. “You aren’t leaving me, right? I need you. I don’t want you to leave.”
Adrien shook his head to break her fears. Marinette let out an anxious sigh, then snuggled into his chest to calm herself down further. He could feel her anger dissipating as he ran his fingers up and down her bare back.
“Both Nathalie and my father confirmed I’d be spending all my time with you.” Marinette looked up at him and Adrien took that moment to lightly grip her chin, ensuring she wouldn’t look away. “You are my priority, Marinette. Everything else comes last. And nothing anyone says will change that.”
“Are you sure?” She asked quietly, but Adrien knew she only asked for reassurance. He knew that she knew he was hers and hers alone.
“Definitely.” Adrien placed a chaste kiss on her lips before releasing her chin to grab his phone. She watched as he unlocked his phone to pull up his calendar, confirming what he said. “See? No appointments. Everything was cleared out for me to take care of you.”
“Then why would she lie?” She huffed out, annoyed at the liar and her latest rumor.
“Because it's Lila and she thinks that I’m exclusively hers.” He rolled his eyes in annoyance, but this made Marinette release out a tiny growl. “Hey, I hate working with her, you know that. You and me this week, my love. Just us.”
“I just wish we could tell Nino that it’s all a lie.” She thought out loud, not noticing his smirk until he let out a mischievous chuckle.
“I know exactly how to prove her wrong.”
Adrien guided her back down into the nest, laying her comfortably as she was before the notification interrupted her rest. He settled down beside her, stretching out his arm until he could angle the phone just right. Marinette turned to lay on her belly, her disheveled hair covering most of her face, but not her smile. He then laid over her, his right arm resting over her bare body to hold her tightly to him. His own disheveled hair covered most of his face, with only his smile peeking through the curl of his lips as he pressed a kiss to the side of her lips. He ensured that no private parts could be seen in any part of the image, then took a few photos with the filter on grayscale. He only took the upper half, mostly their shoulders up to the tops of their heads, but the recipients could see the status of their relationship along with the love bites that were riddled over their exposed skin.
It was tasteful and radiant, and it was the perfect image to prove Lila wrong.
Adrien asked Marinette to give the image a once-over for approval before sending it to the group chat that he, Marinette, Nino, and Alya had together. Within seconds of posting the photo, Alya gave ten pink and blue heart emojis, with a few heart-eyed emojis thrown in, while Nino sent an ‘I knew it’ message with the pound hand symbol, something Adrien and Nino always sent to each other.
Model Boy: Feel free to show, but don’t share. Don’t need the press to get a hold of this photo.
DJ Dude: No worries. I got you two. Don’t worry about Lila. We’ll take care of it. Go focus on your girl.
Model Boy: You’re the best, bro. The ultimate bro.
     DJ Dude: Bro 🥺🙏🏽
     Model Boy: 😘
“Now that that’s settled,” Adrien said, putting the phone outside of their nest so he could embrace his mate better. “I think you should rest and I’m going to shower and clean up the mess we made in the kitchen. Okay?”
Marinette snuggled into his chest, enjoying the warmth his body emitted. She wasn’t completely tired after the nonsense that Nino had warned them of, but the warmth and the sound of his heartbeat was lulling her to sleep.
“Stay?” She yawned once again, nuzzling as close as she could to him. “At least until… until I sweep?”
“You mean sleep?” He chuckled quietly, hoping it wouldn’t disturb her.
“Dat’s what I said. Sweep.” She said sleepily, and Adrien couldn’t help but feel absolutely enthralled by her.
“Okay love.” He kissed the top of her head. “Go sleep. I’ll see you soon.”
“Mmm-kay.” She said once last time, before falling asleep completely.
“Sounds like your girlfriend is exhausted from all that fun.” Plagg zipped out just long enough to grab a slice of camembert.
“Mhmm. And I’m going to slip out soon and clean up that mess.” Another notification rang through the room, but this time it was a familiar echo that he recognized as his father’s tone. “But first, I’m going to answer that.”
Plagg swallowed the slice, before zipping back to his hiding spot in the other room. Adrien managed to slip away from his mate without waking her up and gathered the clothes that he would need once he finished his shower. As he made his way into their ensuite bathroom, Adrien looked at his phone to read the text his father had left him.
Gabriel Agreste: When you have a moment, could you come out and meet me? We have a few things to discuss.
“Great. Sounds like this is going to be a fun conversation.” He sighed out, choosing to ignore answering his father until he and the kitchen were decently cleaned.
