Ahhh I love it! Well done!!

So I finally finished it! My hand bound copy of Got A Melancholic Temperament (that’s what they said to me) by @coldtomyflash (aka RedHead on ao3).

It’s not perfect, I messed up on the inside spine a little bit, but I’m really happy with how the cover and the little window for the title came out.

I am terrible at finding fics so I am once again asking you lovely people for help. not sure if I am just not searching hard enough or if this story was deleted. but anyway I think Len got de-aged somehow and the West-Allen household was taking care of him. Len of course was smitten with Barry. there was a lot of good back and forth but when they did finally have sex, the next morning Len was back to his normal age again. I think at one point Barry was afraid he was Len's first but Len assured him he wasn't.

Hi all!

Thank you all for your patience while I've got the ball rolling on this year's events (and for the gentle kick up the butt where needed haha). You know what they say about even the best-laid plans...

But I've finally got the ball rolling, and I have a couple of announcements to make!

I'd like to begin by welcoming my wonderful new co-mod, @moriavis, who will be helping me keep all our events running smoothly (pun intended)! I'm very grateful to have her on board.

It's likely that we'll be looking for extra assistance with some of the more ambitious events we have planned for this year, so if anyone is interested in helping us out, please feel free to drop me a message either here on this blog or on my main @coldflasher :D

<3 this brings me so much joy

So a few weeks ago ive decided to start rereading "tumbling together" by RedHead (or @coldtomyflash on tumblr), because its been years since ive read it for the first time (i think it was actually one of if not the first ever fics ive read in english?) and its still on my 'best fics ever' list. So ive downloaded it as an epub to read on the train now and again and its just... I just got to the whip cream fiasko part and that start of the 'he knows that she knows that he knows that....' and i... Im sorry i cannot read this on the train anymore I'm sitting here like a maniac trying desperately not to chuckle its just... I did not realize how much of my own humor in my own writing was apperently influenced by this fic.

Yeah so anyways everybody should go read it.

i love classic tropes. they're classics for a reason, and so much fun to play around with and explore all the implications of <3

I am just now starting aatjs and adoring it. please be honest will the ending hurt me because the tags say “angst with a happy ending” and then “at least I think it’s happy but that’s subjective” and idk if it’s gonna end with len and barry in a happy relationship after many hardships, where one had to leave their old life behind for the other to even begin to consider loving them, or with len and barry never talking again because of the inherently abusive nature of a villain/hero enemies to lovers dynamic

since you said be honest, i assume you're actively looking for spoilers, in which case i'll say that:

yes, they end up in a happy relationship after hardships, and yes one has to leave their old life behind (but not like, entirely/forever).

it's bittersweet because there's things they lose along the way and some readers were not happy with me about that fact and made their displeasure known in the comments, but it's an ending i'm still really pleased with and was always the intended ending for the story (and other people have since reread and commented on how clearly foreshadowed and fitting it is so...?).

i can give you more specific detail about that bittersweet element if you're looking for it, but for now just confirming that in love and still together coldflash is the endgame.

aww thank you <3 melancholic temperament was a lot of fun to write. i have a soft spot for taking old/classic tropes and giving them a whirl, and de-aged seemed perfect for this fandom.

also have to give a shoutout to @crimsondomingo for her incredible work in organizing and editing/beta-ing the 12-part collab. it was so incredible and fun to be a part of, but also something i could never dream to organize 😂 i'm sure there were other organizers too that i'm forgetting, but honestly it was such an incredible group effort <3

The sheer EXCITEMENT at that response! I will be there at every single update as soon as I can if you do end up going back to it!! Seriously. Oh my gosh. I mostly sent that ask in on a whim (I’m not much on tumblr. I just created this one a couple months ago to ask a different user permission to bind their fic that basically got me through chemo lmao and I didn’t want that publicly posted so account creation was the only option) when I randomly thought about coldflash for the first time in ages and THEN went to reread my favorite coldflash fic (Tumbling Together followed by These Violent Delights actually haha) which instead made me reread that one chapter of Mighty Fine Predicament before coming here (and now I’m back to the first thing I wanted to do - reread Tumbling Together)

Also though - You write supernatural fic? On AO3? I didn’t know this! I want to read your supernatural fics if you’re ok with sharing that handle!

Tumbling Together and These Violent Delights seems like an absolutely wonderful and whiplash-inducing combo to read back to back haha.

and yeah i've been writing wincest fics since 2019 when i got back into supernatural (after several years away) as it was starting its final season. i engage differently with that fandom and with my audience in that space compared to how i engage(d) with coldflash. overall i write different (often heavier) themes for spn and do so a bit more unapologetically, and i tag a lot less, and don't (to the best of my ability) have such long-winded author's notes. if any of that sounds up your alley, my pseud for that fandom is Dyed_Red, and if you want to ask me about supernatural or engage with me in that space, please direct it over to @dyed-red or to my main @phynali. i try to keep this blog focused on dc/arrowverse content :)
