How are feeling about the show so far?
Hey there, I love it! Zemo was such a surprise (I didn’t really watch the trailers, teasers, etc), not him being there but him being so... great?! Sorry, no spoilers for everyone out there who hasn’t seen the eps yet. I want more Sam-Bucky interaction though, on the level we got used to in the comics, but I think we’ll get there :)
Also, sorry for not being active. You know, crazy times. I’m alive, I’ll be back.

how does bucky see steve? like how does he view him and what's their relationship like pre and post death? (bucky's death)
In the comics, Bucky saw Steve as an older brother, even a father figure. There was obviously a deep friendship between the two, but Bucky, being younger, looked up to Steve, and Steve, for his part, was also very protective of Bucky. Post-death, they remained like a family, although I suppose they tend to depict it more as a friendship now.
In the earlier comics, pre-retcon, Bucky was way younger, so their relationship was more like that of a father and son. A couple of times Steve even mentions that Bucky was like a son to him. And I recall Bucky being sad that Steve never adopted him, but that was before TWS arc and it wasn’t canon. Still, it tells us something about Bucky’s feelings. Here’s the quote:
Bucky: “If Steve Rogers had adopted me when I was a kid–” Steve: “I know, partner! Today your name would be Buck Rogers, right?”
Happy New Year, Winter’s Children!

Okay so, I'm a little confused. I know that the mcu characterizations tend to be very different from the comics, but in light of the new TFATWS trailer I have some /questions/. Usually in the comics, isn't the sambucky dynamic Sam being the responsible serious one and Bucky being the sarcastic reckless one? Or have I read so much fanfic that my perception of the comics has been warped in the process?
You’re right, that’s what I also noticed about their dynamic in the trailer, especially in that “so, no plan” scene; in the comics, it’s always Bucky who’s acting without a plan and Sam who chases after him because Bucky will do something stupid and get himself in trouble. I’m not sure why they chose to do it the other way around, but I have high hopes for this show anyway :D (maybe they’ll both be sarcastic & reckless, just on different occasions, who knows?)

I’ll have you know, Bucky’s got a plan, alright, it’s just that... it’s usually a stupid one xD

genuine question: why does Bucky feel guilty about his winter soldier days if he’s killed before that?
True, he’s killed during the war, so even before he became the Winter Soldier, and back then it was simple: there were two sides, it was “us” or “them”, and he was likely convinced he was killing only the “bad guys”, or simply the other soldiers. It’s similar, actually, he was also following orders, but he had a say in the matter, a conscience. What he did as the Winter Soldier (what they made him do) was directed at so many kinds of people, and it went on for years, so the tally was higher than his army one. And it haunts him still - not the soldiers he’s killed as Bucky but the ones he killed as WS - so he probably did worse than just kill, sometimes. In short, maybe he feels guilty because he was so merciless in his WS days? Even though it was not his fault, not his decisions - unlike during the war. But we know all too well that he understands that but feels guilty still because it was him, his body, his finger pulling the trigger, his hands squeezing the life out of someone.

what are your favorite and least favorite qualities about bucky?
Favourite: that deep down he’s still that boy who joined the army; no matter how much he’s grown since then, I often see his young self shine through
Least favourite: I honestly can’t think of anything!

what did bucky believe was his "life story" basically when he was bring brainwashed by the russians?
He actually didn’t have one for before he “woke up” as the Winter Soldier; he just didn’t remember his life, but he also wasn’t programmed to care about it. Had they uploaded some sort of life story into his brain, I think he wouldn’t have struggled to remember the real thing. All he knew was his training, I suppose it was like being born there, starting his life from that point, there was no “before.”

hey do you know how old bucky is like physically?? i mean i know he's almost 100 technically but physically how old is he?
Hey there! (Yet again tumblr didn’t show me I have any asks, thank you tumblr) I think about 30. Depends on how his slow aging works now, really, but 30s should be it.

Okay, Bucky may not go easy on you, but I will. I will punch you gently, how about that?
