End of project evaluation:
I believe that the photographs within my prep work showcase good quality and editing as well as effectively communicate my focus towards the viewer. Within my work the base principle i am trying to promote to the viewer is what it is like to live in London, the images vary from a quiet inner city estate to bustling Camden Market, my work is always trying to promote London life to the viewer. My images do this effectively mostly because of the locations I have shot around London. Most importantly to show the life of a Londoner I have avoided the most common, tourist attraction area’s of London (Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace etc.) as they do not properly show what life within London is really like. Instead I have chosen to focus on the regular streets, estates and marketplaces of London, as although they do not look as nice, they better grasp the concept of London life to the viewer. To explore someones personal connection to London i needed to focus on where different groups of people lived and worked which is why I chose to avoid tourist hotspots.
I believe I have pushed my creative boundaries a lot further than I have done in the past with my work for this exam. Usually my work consists of photographs of the subject I needed and then edited and uploaded, however during this exam I have pushed my creative boundaries by experimenting with projections, acetate paper and gifs. Although I personally believe the projections were almost completely unsuccessful, the experimentation still helped me develop further ideas I could use later in my work. The acetate paper experiment looked good and the different blends of light made the piece more effective, however i believe it didn’t help further explain the theme and concept behind my work to the viewer. The gifs came out looking successful and even helped the viewer further understand my work and the meaning behind it, the gifs were easily the most successful of my experiments.
Overall, I am happy with the work I produced within the 15 hours, and I believe they’re of high quality. Every piece I made has relevance to the question as well as being supported by an artist analysis. My personal favourite pieces are the dance shoots in London, they show how an urban environment can influence somebodies dance choices, whether they choose to dance ballet or street. The black and white series documenting life within London are possibly my least favourite out of all the work I produced in the 15 hours. Although the quality is high, I believe I could’ve taken better pictures to use in that series that would’ve better documented somebodies life within London. The glitch and double exposure outcomes were successful and I believe they showed the purpose of why I created them. The double exposure was to show the relation between a person and a specific place within the same image, whereas the glitch gifs were to show that there are faults and ‘glitches’ within the city and the people within that city. Nonetheless, I believe my images and work for the entire project came out successfully, clearly explains my question to the viewer and is of a high quality.

Final Outcomes: London Dance Shoot 2
I chose to add colour to these as unlike the ballet ones, streetdance is more urban and colours play an important factor.

Final Outcomes: Double Exposure
Similar to Mountfords work i believe this helps effectively show somebodies personal connection towards the city through creative techniques with a camera.

Final Outcome: Glitch Gif
The glitch gif’s were designed to help show the viewer that there are glitches and faults not only within the city but also the people who live in it.

Final Outcome: London Dance Shoot
I believe these came out extremely well, it helps capture the elegance of ballet as well as exploring how the city has effected the dancer.
