I hate the way content leaks are just so prevalent now, I would hate to make something and everyone has spread it around and discussed it to death in piecemeal third party chunks 2 days before the thing comes out, like fuck!

To the degree that you almost can't even block it, particularly because it immediately becomes fanon, so large amounts of people are not tagging for leaks/spoilers, incorporating it as common knowledge within a day, months/weeks/days before it even comes out. It's already hard enough having to binge through everything as fast as possible because everyone is in a race to say x about it, first, but now you've got to binge it all before it even comes out, it just feels like audiences are too hungry these days while respecting the people that make it less than ever lol

And like yeah you can just avoid socmed to avoid spoilers which I've been doing, but that sucks and also it just kinda sucks in general

#and leaking/pirating content in many circumstances is fine and right and my feelings are not about corp interests #but when the only reason for the leak is for op's clout and bc you just Can't Wait it just feels so unfair to the ppl who labored over it #on top of also just setting such an exhausting pace of consumption and setting that as the new normal 😞 #this is obviously about h/yv stuff but also about a lot of stuff I'm just sick of it #nothing to be done about it but overall it feels like it's not worth it and spoils a lot of ppls enjoyment #remember when a person who just spoiled the whole thing bc it was intended to be a specific experience was like #not the guy you wanted to be or #and frankly that's your prerogative if you want to seek out spoilers for whatever ur reasons #but the scale that it's on now has started to depress me to think about #text posts

no offence but the reason tumblr is “dying” is, well, yes, of course the cursed like/reblog ratio and the change in user behaviour (because of people being used to how instagram and tiktok work) BUT also the lack of weekly shows. i say it with my whole chest, they don't produce captivating and engaging stupid weekly tv shows anymore because streaming killed that so you have spikes of activity here when Something happens in general fandom or up to three days after a new season of whatever drops and then it's a wasteland. this is obviously an old woman yelling at a cloud missing supernatural and the vampire diaries and pretty little liars and all these other shows type of post but honestly give me back weekly tv shows where i have something to watch for 40 minutes almost every day of the week after work so then i can read and reblog it on tumblr give it back for the sake of my sanity

#this is one reason everyone is crazy for dunmeshi rn Netflix is clearly trying to figure out like.... having staying power for their shows #since everyone is sick of their shit and unsubbing or only subs for a week to binge something #it's a Pandora's box they opened and can't close lol like that's why they'll split bridgerton into two halves #it's a big show ppl subscribe for specifically and plenty of ppl just sub for the 1 month to watch the new season #also other reasons they split it but #they have been flirting with other release schedules while also not being able to not drop a whole series in a day bc ppl want to binge #except ppl are getting sick of bingeing then the show gets cancelled so everyone is too tired to invest in and gush about binge series too #but anyway this is a well observed post this is the fandom site and long draughts where ppl aren't getting anything #therefore not creating buzz and attracting new fans which keeps the hype up w new thoughts and energy #but also even when something blows up and ppl are still talking about it months later the anti-fandom inevitably shows up to say #hmmm is anyone else agreeing that it's cringe now to still be talking about that show that's a few months old now 🤔
