I am 100% with you on the Edward and Nell dynamic. That's the secret sauce so them getting less screen time together is a bummer. Also, I lowkey ship them together so another bummer for me.
But to be honest, this has been a B/C show for me since the beginning. I've very rarely laughed and when I do it's usually because of Edward.
I watch it out of loyalty for various actors. This cast is seriously stacked. I love Gina Rodriguez from Jane the Virgin, Rick Glassman from As We See It (one of the best (and only) shows I've seen truly tackle the complexities of adults on the spectrum with humor and heartfelt emotion), Hannah Simone from New Girl, Lauren Ash from Superstore and Angela E. Gibbs from On My Block.
Not Dead Yet went from being a hidden gem to nearly unwatchable?? Like the ghosts have been so sidelined you could basically lift them from any episode without changing a thing; the Edward/Lexi pairing has been nauseating; it seems like they want to make this a workplace comedy but the side characters honestly aren’t strong enough to carry the show in that genre; I WANT MORE CRICKET 😭
Nell’s growth feels totally stunted (probably bc the ghosts are so absent) and I’d be lying if I said her dynamic with Edward wasn’t a huge part of the show’s appeal, so the total loss of that his season has felt really tangible.

Random Thoughts on The Tearsmith
If you loved Twilight, then there's a good chance you'll enjoy this movie.
This movie is literally carried by the chemistry of the two leads. The plot and the writing....yeah, there's not much there or maybe there's too much and some storylines come off as a footnote like how did our boy Alan die?
I loved how when Nica left the orphanage she was like "Bye, here's my dirty sewer rat to remember me by" to her friend.
It seemed like all Nica/Rigel's kisses happened after Lionel kissed or tried to kiss Nica or sent her a video of his beat up face. It was like Lionel was their aphrodisiac.
I thought this movie was set in the 90s until like 30 minutes in when the first smartphone appeared.
This was not a very good movie, but I enjoyed it.
This is one you want to have subtitles on. It sounds way more romantic in Italian than in dubbed over English.

Here's the thing about The Bear...
Does it deserve awards? Yes. It's an extremely well written, executed, and acted show.
Is it a comedy....? Not in the least.
Do the Emmys consider it a comedy because of its shorter runtime? Is it possibly time to create other categories based on runtime? Is it all just politics? They knew they wanted Succession and The Bear to be winners this year but didn't want to put them in the same category?
It's like I'm happy for The Bear and all the deserving winners, but also frustrated with the Emmys for allowing the show to be categorized as a comedy. We have a ton of good dramas on TV right now, but quality comedies are dwindling (except you, Shrinking, you're amazing.) I don't think this trend of categorizing non-comedies as comedies is a good trend for us comedy lovers.
TLDR: Side-eying the Emmys, but super happy for The Bear.

I am only on the 3rd episode of the Percy Jackson series but I have to say I am really loving it so far! I might end it up liking it more than WandaVision.
The only minor quibble I have (which I hope will be resolved in the upcoming episodes) is that I hope they'll flesh out Annabeth a little bit more. They're kind of treating her as elusive and mysterious and honestly, I don't remember her that way in the book.

Wynonna Earp Thoughts
So I've recently been rewatching Schitt's Creek. And I'm obviously reminded of how attractive Mutt is. Then, I remember seeing YouTube videos/Tumblr posts about him in Wynonna Earp - something called WynDoc. I go down a little internet rabbit hole for a couple hours. I google where I can stream it and lo and behold it's on Netflix. So I give it a try, but I don't think I'm going to continue it.
I am just a little baby chicken when it comes to horror. The last season of Stranger Things I could only watch during the day. I had to skip some scenes as I was watching Wynonna Earp. I know it was campy but it was still pretty gory.
As I did my research, I realized Wynonna and Doc were part of a love triangle with the FBI guy. This is never a trope I will enjoy. I tolerate it on comedies because it's usually not that deep but in dramas it can really ruin my enjoyment of a show (like with Grey's Anatomy).
Side Quibble: Why tag something under a ship name that has nothing to do with that ship? I had to sift through so much content that was irrelevant to the WynDoc storyline. It took twice as long as it should've to get a sense of their whole story.
While Doc Holliday is still hot and his character seems very amusing, I can't justify eye candy as the only reason to watch a show. I will watch a show for the romantic elements of it but after finding out what I did about the plot - I can't watch it for that reason either. I'm all about the whole once you meet The One - everyone else fades away (that's just my Cory and Topanga, Nathan and Haley, Bridgerton series loving heart). I don't like watching people play musical chairs with their partners as they try to avoid the one they're meant to be with. I'm very old-fashioned that way. If the genre was more my wheelhouse, I'd probably still watch it, but the plot just isn't doing it for me.

Scenes from a Marriage
Prologue
The Daily Prophet
NEW YEAR, NEW LAW
JANUARY 2, 1999
A new law has been enacted by the Ministry of Magic today. One day after ringing in the new year, the Minister for Magic along with the majority of senior officials have decided to start the new year with a bang by forcing unmarried witches and wizards to marry.
“Many lives were lost last year due to the Second Wizarding War. The British magical world is in crisis. We need to replenish our ranks. That is why we at the Ministry of Magic have decided to enact the Marriage Act of 1999,” Kingsley Shacklebolt, current Minister for Magic, stated during a press conference today.
The Marriage Act of 1999 will require unmarried witches and wizards to report to the Ministry of Magic’s offices over the next three months to begin the process of matchmaking. A series of personality and compatibility tests will be given to each witch and wizard. The unmarried witches and wizards will discover who they will marry June 1st. They will have until the end of June to marry.
The law also dictates certain rules that must be followed by the married couples. The rules are as follows:
Couples must procreate and produce 5 children.
Couples must have sexual intercourse once a week.
Couples are not allowed to have separate rooms or beds.
Couples must spend at least 1 hour a day together. Sexual intercourse will not be counted as part of the hour.
Couples must answer daily discussion questions over breakfast. Each couple will be assigned their own personal Love Bug to record and send replies back to the Ministry of Magic’s office.
If any rule is broken more than 5 times in a 6 month period, then said couple will receive mandated couple’s therapy.
If a rule continues to be broken after receiving therapy, then the rule-breaking party shall spend a week in Azkaban.
Divorce is not allowed.
“Five children? Are they trying to turn us into the Weasleys?” A bystander was heard muttering at the press conference.
“How will couples be able to afford five children? It’s expensive enough to feed and clothe one child much less five. How does the Ministry expect us to provide for a family of seven?” Belbius Bowler asked.
The Minister hemmed and hawed and said that those things had a way of working themselves out but the point was to build back the wizarding community better and stronger than ever to which the audience responded by booing.
And what is a Love Bug you might ask? A Love Bug is a charmed insect that not only has the power to record your conversations with your new spouse but will sting you with Veritaserum once a week to ensure that you are having the required weekly sexual intercourse.
If you have someone you love, marry them now. Otherwise, the Ministry of Magic will choose your spouse for you and they could be ugly or toothless or your sworn enemy. The Daily Prophet is certain that this, like many preposterous ideas of the Ministry, will end poorly. Very poorly.
Read the next chapter on FF.net or AO3.

Anybody else have a show that they watch exclusively on Tumblr?
That show for me right now is Found. I stay having a crush on MPG but the topic matter of the show is just too heavy for me to watch and get a good night's rest.
But the scenes I've seen on Tumblr between Sir and Gabi intrigue me. He kidnapped her as a child - there should be no inkling of shipping these two but the chemistry is surprisingly strong? My obsession with these two is weird (but not that weird for me considering I loved the crapshow that was Beth and Rio) and I thank all the people who post content about these two to feed my curiousity!
