Were the others sitting around Rock's stewpot somewhere? Laughing, joking, betting on how many mugs of ale Lopen could drink? Ribbing Kaladin, trying to get him to crack a smile?

Moash could almost hear their voices, and he smiled, imagining that he was there. Then, he imagined Kaladin telling them what Moash had done.

He tried to kill me, Kaladin would say. He betrayed everything. His oath to protect the king, his duty to Alethkar, but most importantly us.

Moash sagged, patch in his fingers. He should throw that thing in the fire.

Did you guys know that the first books I read of my own volition were horse care manuals and breed encyclopedias? You can ask me shit about horses, that was my first special interest ever and I'll probably know it.

Except for anything having to do with english-style riding. I have no idea why those riders do that thing with their butts.

I always thought it was like an exaggeration when horse people would talk about how silly it was for anyone to think that riding a horse does not require any particular level of skill or balance or anything, or even that they "drive themselves" (???) but just the tags on the reblogs of that "can you ride a bike and/or horse" post from me alone are demonstrating how overconfident some people are in their (often entirely theoretical!) ability to stay on an alive and moving animal with a will of its own.

#I legit cannot understand #You all believe horses to be fragile little horror monsters with every mental illness under the sun and legs that shatter if you sneeze #AND they take no skill to ride? #Also if horses “drive themselves” why do you think carriage drivers can get DUIs? #the horse might not be drunk but it also can't make informed decisions
