LOCATION / Under the Mountain
→ aesthetics.
stone carved with ancient text in a language long forgotten, caverns that seems to go on forever, a world hidden away from sunlight, equally belonging to every court, mountain peaks that kiss the sky, looming doorways that lead in every direction, a bustling bazaar with spices and fabrics, holy sanctuary.
→ climate.
the climate under the mountain changes vastly on whether you are near the top or bottom levels. however, there is no place in the mountain subject to the typical weather patterns outside. the top is often chilly and drafty. morning or afternoon you can feel the chill that almost radiates from the stone. even standing on the outside balcony and letting the sun warm you does not take away from the wind tussling your hair and teasing your skin. as you descend further down in the mountain, the warmer it gets. perhaps it is due to being closer to the center of the world, or lingering spells and wards from long ago meant to keep the fae comfortable. the only place that is never warm is the dungeon cells. they are cold, sometimes freezing, and wet. it is the last place that any sane person would want to find themselves.
→ the people.
there have been few people to ever take up permanent residence in the sacred mountain. it is meant to be a meeting place for all courts and therefore all courts hold an equal claim to it. the bazaar held in the lower level is a tradition that brings fae from all over together to trade, but none who travel for trade live within the mountain for very long. since the Made began to appear, however, things have changed somewhat. several hold no alliance to any court and therefore do not belong anywhere, leaving the high lords, although some reluctantly, to offer them safe haven within the mountain. due to this, each court has sent some fae to help maintain their level of comfort, and to help persuade them to join their individual causes.

elia | a peregryn fae from the dawn court. after suffering a horrible disfiguration during battle, elia now functions in a lady-in-waiting or maid capacity for those living under the mountain. she is very kind and protective of all that she meets and desires to protect them from suffering as she has. she has been serving under the mountain the second longest of all the fae there. portrayed by karrueche tran.
etoile | a half-wraith fae that was specifically chosen by the high lord of the night court to take up residence under the mountain. they function both in a lady-in-waiting and maid capacity as well as a trusted spy for the night court. they are very quiet and observant and often complete tasks before they can even be asked to do so. they are rather new to living under the mountain and has only been there since the first Made began their residency. portrayed by willow smith.
robin | a high fae sentenced by the autumn court to function as a butler of sorts for those residing under the mountain. they were once a member of the court, but upon being caught in an act of betrayal of his court were stripped of titles and sentenced beneath the mountain to serve its occupants. he is very sneaky, knows all the secrets of those beneath the mountain, and is constantly attempting to befriend those he believes will give him more power. portrayed by lee hyun jae.
ilali | an urisk fae from the summer court. they function as a chef for all the events hosted beneath the mountain and to feed those who reside there in any capacity. they are very loud, friendly, and bubbly. they want nothing more than to do their job and do it better than anyone else could. they love creating new mixtures of food and being creative as possible. portrayed by shamir bailey.
robert | a fae from the winter court. he oversees the bazaar functionality and has done so since it’s inception. he is all business all the time and has no patience for people who mess up his meticulous order. he can get you anything from anywhere if you’re able to pay the right price. he is flawlessly loyal to the winter court. portrayed by benjamin jarvis.
→ powers.
as no one is born to the mountain there are no powers associated with it.
→ history.
the mountain that sits in the middle of prythian is considered the most sacred place to each and every court. they believe when the Mother poured out the Cauldron and created the world that the mountain was the first of it’s creation. the mountain boasts a cavern which leads to a doorway to each of the courts for easy and simple access. for eons, this has been the peaceful meeting place of prythian. even the high lords would not dare to break the sanctity of that. whenever there is a war on the horizon, a pandemic, or any panic that would effect the whole of prythian, the mountain is the meeting place where the high lords meet to discuss the problem. it is no different now.
it is believed that the mountain was originally a temple which worshiped the ancient gods. the gates to heaven supports this theory as it is an alter the high priestesses still use for various ceremonies. the sacred tombs are rumored to be the burial site for these ancient gods and the first high lords of each court. many high fae children will dare one another to venture through the tombs because it is widely believed that they are haunted by the many heroes of prythian who fell and were honored by a burial there.
it was five centuries ago, immediately following the war ending and the treaty being signed, that the bazaar began it’s function. in an effort to help each court which now had new borders and depleted resources, a center for trade became a necessity. while it began with suspicion from every court, it slowly began to become a place of bustling business and has been flourishing ever since.

question for the court positions, do selected high lords have family/queens or the one listed as such only?
The High Lords can have any assortment of family the writer wishes. We have a first come rule basically. So whomever applies for a family first sort of sets the perimeters. High Lords are often married and their wife or mate is called a consort. Some are called “Lady” and their court name. We know that cousins and siblings of High Lords will often be considered a prince, princess, or other assorted title of a region or city within the court.

is there anything you guys aren’t doing to advertise the rp more that maybe us anons can chip in ideas? I came across you guys and I’m interested but the lack of activity on the main makes me hesitant
Hey there! We’re putting ourselves out with promotions, a good variety of tags, rp shoutouts- the whole nine yards basically. There was a problem recently where our posts weren’t showing in the tags because of a tumblr glitch, but that was recently rectified. We would love to hear any suggestions that you may have. Additionally, we would love for you to go put the word out yourself! Reblog some of our promotions on your main or invite some of your friends to check us out too.
I would like to ask that the lack of activity shouldn’t make you too hesitant. The more people interact with us like this, the better it looks. There could be a lot of folks like you that have just been eyeing us so far. I encourage everyone to reach out for questions, support, criticisms- anything you’d like. Even if you see no action from the main, please be sure that we’re still here, and we’re not going to give up on this place quickly. Hopefully, we’ll see an app from you soon!
