Book Review: Well Matched by Jen DeLuca

I wasn't the biggest fan of Well Played, but I was really excited to read Well Matched because I fell in love with Mitch after his appearances in the previous books in the series and was eager to finally read his happily ever after.

Mitch's character was expanded on significantly and I enjoyed seeing a deeper and more vulnerable side to him as opposed to the carefree sports teacher who occasionally wears a kilt. We also get to learn more about April and watch as she navigates her life as a soon-to-be empty nester and her journey of finding a sense of belonging.

Although the synopsis promises a fake relationship trope, I found that it was more of a side-plot and instead the story largely focused on April and her struggles. Because of this, I found Mitch and April's relationship to be underdeveloped and lacking chemistry. I feel like their relationship would have benefited greatly if certain scenes were more fleshed out in order to further develop the beginning of their attraction to one another.

I enjoyed the plentiful cameos of Emily and Simon, along with a few Stacey and Daniel appearances. It was also nice to visit the Renaissance Faire again, and because it is only a small portion of the book it doesn't feel repetitive, but rather like visiting an old friend.

Overall, this was a cute and easy read, and I enjoyed revisiting Willow Creek and its residents. I fell in love with Mitch but unfortunately wasn't one hundred percent convinced by his and April's relationship.

long time no talk!

hey guys, it's been a couple of months since i've been active on here. truthfully, i'm not very motivated with studyblr anymore so that's why i've stopped posting on here.

i've done some thinking over what i want to do with this blog and i've decided to create something that i'm passionate about. i've been lucky enough to be given a few ARCs (advance reading copy) by a publisher in exchange for reviews so i'm considering turning this blog into something that's more reading/book focused.

my first post in a while! i’m (kind of) back to my studyblr. i’ve been inactive for a couple of months because i really had no motivation and also took a break from uni the second half of 2020 because i was struggling with online uni.

so what have i been up to during the 6 months i’ve had off? mostly reading and playing video games. i start uni again in february and i’m hoping that this year goes better for me. i’ll still be doing uni online unfortunately but i’m going to try and manage my time well so that i won’t feel overwhelmed. i’m currently going through that period in life where i have no idea what i want to do and frankly it’s a bit daunting. the lack of motivation and imposter syndrome doesn’t make things easier either! i guess my goal for this year is to figure out what i want my life to look like and to start taking action to get there.
