I love that people think my ring splints are cool for selfish reasons, but also because they are great conversation starters on how mobility aids and braces are cool and make your life better!

I got a compliment while waiting for our boosters and it turned into a convo with the woman about not being afraid to wear braces or using mobility aids in public and she said it made her feel better about having to wear braces for her arthritis and she was going to wear hers more because it helped her to see someone younger wearing visible braces 🥲 idk it just makes me feel a little better about living in a dumbass body when it helps people!!

every time i start to feel cringe for being too deep in the hyperfixation i remember the intense depression i have waded through and have to remind myself that enjoyment is fleeting (so grab it with both hands), and life is for loving (so hold that love close), and if anyone thinks i’m cringe they must not be having a very good time (and i hope they can find a good time soon).

Please be kinder to yourself with your self ships and self inserts. Please know that your creations of either drawings, writings or anything in between is precious. I know it can be scary to share and post sometimes. I know the fear of others finding your work cringy can be daunting. But what you create is beautiful. The fact alone that you see these fictional characters and want to be apart of their stories and share your love for them is a wonderful thing. No matter if it for fun or coping, your self ships are special. Your self inserts are a form of self love, embrace that feeling of being gentle with yourself when it comes to it. You don’t owe anyone a reason to why these characters are special to you, only that they bring you joy and comfort.
