So many people forget that it can be very hard to help an addict that doesn’t want help, and it can end up doing more harm than good. You can’t just take their drugs away and expect them to be happy, they’re just gonna find another outlet. You have to move with their pace and give them the choice to getting help or not

I am not elderly. you cannot look at me and see that I am high risk. You can't know to avoid me if you leave the house with covid or the flu but covid or the flu could kill me

new covid guidelines are suggesting that you can leave isolation while you're sick but that you should avoid high risk people. you cannot do this, we are everywhere. we look like elderly people on ventilators but we also look like fit young adults and energetic children. you cannot spot someone high risk. you cannot avoid us. if you're sick stay home

The incontinence issue thing really annoys me because the slander people will get for peeing themselves is insane. They’ll be bullied, laughed at, and etc. Like adult diapers will be made into a joke when it shouldn’t be??? Disabled people should be allowed to exist in public. Yes, I mean all disabled people.

That includes people with tic disorders.

That includes people who smell ‘bad’.

That includes people who can’t help being loud.

That includes people who move ‘strangely’.

That includes people with bulky mobility aids.

That includes people who drool.

That includes people who struggle with incontinence.

We all should get to exist, however that looks, and go out in public, use public transport, do activities outside our homes. And we should be allowed to do those things without being glared at or having ableist things said to us.

it doesnt help that a lot of places will deny you accommodations until they “know for sure” that youre not faking. had this happen at school were i stopped using my fm system cause i was scared of being bullied for it and now they will not give it back until i get retested to make sure my auditory processing disorder “hasnt changed” which it hasnt, but they wont listen to me because they just dont care about the voices of disabled people

Something I want able bodied people to understand is that I don't want a diagnosis cause I wanna be sick so bad; I want a diagnosis because there is already something wrong with my body but I don't know what the fuck it is.

This!!! we’re mainly traumagenic but we’re so thankful for our headmates because it helps us function and not die. We’re extremely depressed, mentally disabled, and are now becoming physically disabled and we need someone to help us and our parents cant do that much for us. Its important for us to have someone to remind us to eat, sleep, shower, and to brush our teeth since we forget a lot
