Avatar Crossover Battles: Rules and Inaugural Season

Hey, so about 2-3 years ago I had an idea to do like a series of crossover battles that I never quite finished due to a variety of reasons but I really want to give this a second shot! Last time I did this I took characters from the ATLA, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Marvel, DC, and Mortal Kombat and grouped them into what elements each character would bend and have them face off against each other with storylines that I honestly could not put much time in and votes for who the winner was.

This time what I'm doing is I have taken characters from each fandom and picked 12 captains and did a snake draft choosing players in order of the Avatar cycle that fit best with the captains personality or choices that felt in character for those captains to make, going into a new Pro-Bending League.

Season: These teams will go through 1 scrimmage match before moving onto a 12 game regular season. The standings at the end of the regular season will determine who goes into an 8 team best of 3 playoff format that will see teams go head to head to win the Pro-Bending Championship. Throughout the season each win will earn a team 3 points. In the event of two teams tying in points the team that would advance would be the team with the best differential between zone pushes versus zone losses.

Managers: If you are interested in managing a team please send me a personal message and I will set you up with a team you would like. The manager's job throughout the season is going to be to manage the lines of their team and to make sure they can help their team thrive and make the playoffs. The manager would try to do this by making some signings during the off-season, negotiating trades with other managers, and drafting good prospects.

Teams: Each team would be made up of 8-12 players. This includes at least 2 waterbenders, 2 earthbenders, 2 firebenders, and 2 airbenders. Each team then has to consist of two units to play throughout the matches consisting of 1 waterbender, 1 earthbender, 1 firebender, and 1 airbender. A team cannot roll out a unit that does not meet these requirements or else the team will suffer a penalty from the league. Any reserves on the teams can be any bender but cannot take the place of a player who bends a different element than they do. Reserves can be substituted in for the following reasons: if a player who bends the same element is not performing well, if a player who bends the same element is suspended for a number of matches, or if a player who bends the same element is injured for a number of matches. If a player becomes suspended or injured and there are no players on reserve who can fit that role the manager is allowed to place a player from the other unit into that role. If a substitute is available on the team the manager must dress the player in the game or else the manager risk both a penalty from the league and/or increasing the period of time it takes for the player to heal. Teams cannot exceed a number of 12 players or else a penalty will be issued from the league. If it is evident that the team limit is going to be exceeded throughout the league, an expansion team will be added to the league to create more room for players in the league. When an expansion team is added to the league an expansion draft will take place where the manager of the new team can select 1 player from each team. In preparation for the draft each team can protect up to 5 players from being picked by the expansion team.

Matches: Matches will be won through a few factors: fan vote, power scaling, a random number picker, and AI match summary. Following each game will be a detailed summary of the events in the fight. With this fight summary will be a set of box scores from players in the fight. The first round will be fought by each teams first unit, with the second round being fought by both teams second unit. If the fight advances to a third round teams are allowed to make changes to whatever unit they want to send out. Much like in The Legend of Korra series players can be caught taking penalties which would result in the offender moving back one zone. If a player is caught from repeating actions that may cause them to be penalized during the same game they will be ejected, and depending on the severity of the penalty, suspended a number of games. If an in-game ejection occurs, the team must play the rest of the round with the remaining players and would be allowed to adjust their line-up once the round ends. If a player sustains an injury during a match, play is halted and the player is removed from the ring and the team would be allowed to replace the injured player with someone from the teams other unit; however, injured participants may be permitted to continue if they are still capable. Players who are injured while being knocked off the ring will be rescued by gaming officials. For more rules on matches please check the Game Play section of the Pro-bending fandom page.

Rules: Because the rules for waterbenders, earthbenders, and firebenders are already set, I decided to save myself some time and just linked the fandom page right here-> Waterbending, Firebending, Earthbending Rules. For the newly added airbending position, these are the rules that follow the new position. When a airbender is sent into the arena the side and middle vents release a thin light blue fog,so that the Referee and Audience can see the attacks. Airbenders on their teams will play a more defensive role on their team than their counterparts. Airbending can only be used in close combat, meaning that the airbender has to get close to their opponent to shrike; Airbenders cannot shrike at anyone half a zone away so the airbender will have to get close to the line but must make sure not to cross it. Each air blast must not exceed one second in duration, meaning that airbenders may not use jet streams to blow their opponent off the arena. Just like water, strikes to the head are allowed. An airbender may not use air to enhance one's movement. Giant tornados/hurricanes may not be used. Airbenders must bend the fog in their own territory or the territory they have gained. When defending, airbenders can deflect shrikes towards their teammates from a maximum of one zone away. Airbenders cannot create any constructs of air to stop any shrikes, meaning an airbender cannot create a sphere of air to catch any rock plates or other shrikes. In the events of a tie breaker and only one team has a airbender they can choose to fight any of the other 3 elements.

Trades: During the season each team can make trades for other players but have to deal with the team restrictions. The result of any trade should not leave a team with less than 8 players or more than 12 players. Trades should not push the team over the salary cap. Along with this trades should not leave the team with less than 2 benders per element. Draft picks can also be traded. All trades would have to be reviewed by the commissioner first before they can go through.

Salary Cap: The fixed salary cap for every season is going to be set at 36 which leaves enough space to sign some talented players but also forces teams to limit how many they can sign.

Contracts: Each player's salary is determined by their value to the team and to the game. A players salary will not consist of any actual budget or in-game currency but just of numbers 1-5. If a player ranks up in the top 20% of the league in stats the player will receive a 5. Players ranking in the 21%-40% will receive a salary of 4. Players ranking in the 41%-60% will receive a salary of 3. Players ranking in the 61%-80% will receive a salary of 2. Players ranking in the 81% or lower will receive a salary of 1. When signing a player the longest contract you can give is 3 seasons. All prospects entering the league will receive a contract of 3 seasons with a salary of 1. When resigning players at the end of each season you can only resign up to 5 players and let the rest walk to free agency where you can resign them there or look for possibly better players suitable for your team. During free agency a player can accept a contract from any team. The main factors that will play a factor on where the player goes is how much the team is offering, how successful the team is, and roster space. If there are multiple successful teams offering the maximum salary for one player then the decision of where he goes will be left up to a random team picker.

Player Draft: At the end of every season and before free agency begins a player draft will take place for managers to select players to help improve their teams future. Throughout the season prospects will be ranked going into the draft that will decide on the final ranking. These prospects can become eligible for the entry draft either through fan suggestions for what players/fandom universes should be added or by adding characters from the existing universes in the league into the running. When the season ends, the teams that failed to make the playoffs will enter into a lottery to win the first 3 picks, with the lowest ranked team having the highest chance. As the playoffs progress, the order of the draft would continue to be filled with teams that made the least amount of impact during the playoffs.

DC/Star Wars Crossover

Hey, I’m looking for some fanfic writers who are interested in writing a fanfic about one of your favorite DC characters in the Star Wars Universe! Story lines will be first come first serve so if you want to take part let me know as soon as possible! What this entails is either writing one short fanfic each month (equivalent to an individual issue) or one long fanfic every three months (equivalent to a volume). Each post you could have one of three options! First one is that you could adapt a DC story into the Star Wars Universe, second being a totally original story revolving around the character, and the third and final option is a combination of the two, taking elements from canon and stuff from your own personal DC/Star Wars headcanon! Each individual series would be uploaded onto this blog with credit given to the writer and if the wished, on their blog as well. This would be out of your own free time and if you decide at any point you don’t want to do this anymore you are allowed to back out any time! This is going to be meant as a fun and creative experience. Certain writers will need to also collaborate with others as it would be important for the story lines and continuity. For example the Justice League writer will also need to keep up to date with with each members individual series.

As for weapons, if anyone with a strict no killing rule has a lightsaber the setting is turned so low to the point where it is just a major burn but still blocks shots.

World at War

Reporter: Today, after weeks of negotiations with the White Lotus and Water Tribes, the Fire Nation has officially declared war on both the Northern and Southern Water Tribes. This was following an attack from the Water Tribes on a Fire Nation prison where they held Water Tribe Admiral Severus Snape. The Earth Kingdom has not joined the war but many city-states such as Omashu, Zaofu, and Yang Province have come out to say they will aid the Fire Nation with supplies until the Earth Kingdom decides to join the war. Just hours ago the Air Nation has sided with the Water Tribes after they came to their aid when they were attacked yesterday at the Western and Northern Air Temples by Fire Nation allies.

Darth Sidious: *turns off the tv* Goood! Everything is going exactly according to plan.

Volemort: Has the Fire Nation agreed to our terms?

Shazam: Yes! We have them at our command!

Lucifer: How much longer until the Earth Kingdom submits to our will?

Thanos: A matter of days.

Darth Sidious: Goood! Gooooood!

I had to take a break because of homework but will return with a new battle tomorrow.

Firebenders vs Waterbenders

Steve: Okay soldiers, a month ago one of our own has been taken from us. Our job is to make sure we get Severus back to us in one piece. Nightwing and Ahsoka, you will need to find where they are keeping Severus once we reach the island. Once you find out, report back to us and we will begin our attack.

Nightwing and Ahsoka: Eye sir!

Percy: *enters the room* General America, we are approaching the Crescent Islands!

Steve: Good, get ready to deploy! Dismissed! *leaves the room*

Percy: Hey, Nightwing! We’ve been a team for over a year now, why do you still keep a secret identity?

Nightwing: Force of habit I guess.

Severus: *sitting on the floor of his cell, watching the elephant rat scatter inside the bars*

Severus Snape remembers what the man in the other cell had done weeks before, and how he was able to control those animals in his cell. He closes his eyes and concentrates on the animal in front of him. Feeling the blood flow through its body. He lifts up his hands and opens his eyes to see the creature standing on it’s hind legs. He pulled towards him and saw the elephant rat move forward, then let go of his control over the creature. It was finally time to make his escape.

Severus: Alohomora. *he pushed on the door swinging it open and jumped down*

Guard: Halt! *begins to chase after Severus*

Severus: *looks at the man and raises his hands*

Guard: *freezes* uck *walks towards the cell and floats in*

Severus: *shuts the door* Colloportus.

Guard: Wait, how did you do that? Don’t leave me here! Help!

Guard 2: *storms in* What?

Severus: Stupefy.

Guard 2: Falls to the floor.

Kuai: Hey, professor! You let me out, I can take you to your weapon and get you out.

Severus: *weighs his options* Might as well. Alohomora.

Steve: Everyone get some rest.

Obi-Wan: Look out! *uses the force to stop the spear that would have pierced General America’s shoulder*

Steve: Form a line! I want everyone ready for battle! Now!

Nightwing: *storms into the holding area* Ahsoka, check the right, I’ll check the...

Ahsoka: Hold on. *walks to the cell that previously held Severus Snape* How did you get in here?

Guard: The man, he did something to me. I had no control.

Ahsoka: Describe this man.

Guard: Long black hair, blue cloak, was a Water Tribe prisoner.

Nightwing: How long ago did this happen?

Guard: Not long.

Nightwing: He can’t be far from here. Let’s go search for him.

Dean: Yeah, yeah. Whatever.

Jack: *to Sam* Where are we?

Sam: Not in Kansas anymore. *looks at the skyline of Republic City*

Sam: The 1920′s?

Castiel: I’m not sure. Maybe it’s an illusion.

Sam: I don’t know. It seems to weird for it to be a trick.

A loud bang is heard from the city. Sam, Dean Castiel, and Jack rush towards the place where the sound came from and see four people fighting.

Dean: *pulls out his gun*

Sam: *pulls out his gun*

Before the two brothers could even stop the fighting, the Republic City police arrive.

Police Officer: Everyone freeze! You’re all under arrest!

Mileena: I don’t think so. *vanishes*

Erron Black: *shoots at the officer and leaves*

Sam: No! *checks the officer for a pulse*

Kitana and Takeda: *tries to follow Mileena and Erron Black*

Dean: *tackles Takeda*

Castiel: *tackles Kitana*

Takeda: You idiot, you’re letting them get away!

More officers arrive to the scene as the situation unfolds.

Dean: Who were they? Why were you fighting?

Police Officer: Don’t resist! You are under arrest! *cuffs Sam, Dean, Kitana, and Takeda and are taken into squad cars*

Captain Gordon: So, Dean Winchester.

Dean: No, my name is Ted Nugent.

Captain Gordon: I’m sorry but you don’t look like a hard rock guitarist.

Dean: It’s a family name.

Captain Gordon: Sure it is. Look, we have charges here for reckless driving and for assault, but that doesn’t matter. Right now we need you to tell us everything that led up to the shooting.

Dean: Well, my brother and I were driving down a road when out of nowhere a portal shows up in front of us. I tried to break but it was too late. Next thing we know, we show up here and my car gets wrecked. We heard a loud bang and followed the noise until we saw those weirdos in cosplay fighting. We were going to stop them but that was when the officer showed up and tried to arrest us.

Captain Gordon: Is that when you shot him?

Dean: No, I didn’t shoot him!

Captain Gordon: Was it your brother?

Dean: No! It was one of those people playing dress up! My brother and I had very little to do with the actual events that occurred.

Captain Gordon: How many were there?

Dean: Ummm.... Four. There was four.

Captain Gordon: Okay, get up.

Sam: Is there something wrong?

Captain Gordon: Just get up and follow me.

Sam: *Follows Captain Gordon to a truck*

Captain Gordon: Okay, normally I’d take you all in for what you’ve done, however a few years back I was in a similar situation. We aren’t from this world, I don’t know exactly how to explain it but my daughter does. This truck is going to take you to her and her friends. *opens the back of the truck*

Captain Gordon: Get in!

As you could tell, I’m adding Mortal Kombat and Supernatural characters. Rowena Macleod, Sub-Zero, and Rain are joining the waterbending team. Bobby Singer, Tremor, and Cassie Cage are joining the earthbending team. Lucifer (Supernatural), Blaze, and Scorpion are joining the firebending team. Liu Kang and Fujin are joining the airbending team. Raiden is joining the White Lotus and Shinnok is joining the Red Lotus as firebenders. Sam, Dean, Castiel, Jack, Takeda and Kitana are joining the first non-bender team. Erron Black and Mileena are joining the second non-bender team.

Luke Cage, Voldemort, and Hulk

Luke Cage thought he was still a normal human. Or at least as normal as he use to be. However during his battle against the waterbenders, he discovered he did indeed gain a new ability. This made him excited, for a few minutes. He then remembered how they are supposed to get rid of these benders. Luke couldn’t help but wonder what the others would think. Would they banish him, torture him, he can’t take that chance. He’ll just try his best not to tell anyone, not to use his new abilities. What harm could it do to keep this to himself.

Voldemort loved his new team. It is much better than free lancing and much more enjoyable. He learned the ability to bloodbend and now utilizes this ability more than his own wand. After a year he learned of Avatar Aang’s ability to take away someone’s bending. Learning this he has devised a new technique to use bloodbending to do this instead. Now he had the Hulk, Bruce Banner, kneeling before him.

Voldemort: Give me a reason not to end you now!

Bruce: I want it gone. My bending, it has to go.

Voldemort: *stands up* Come forward.

Bruce: *walks forward*

Voldemort: Would you like it to end?

Bruce: It won’t happen, the big guy won’t let me die. I’ve tried.

Voldemort: Very well! Then you must provide your services once I have taken your bending.

Bruce: Oka- *becomes limp and unable to control his body, as he slowly drops to his knees his head faces upward*

Voldemort: This will only hurt a little bit. *he smiles as he takes Bruce Banners bending abilities away*

Bruce: AHHHHH, AHHHH! *starts to transform* AHHHHH! *falls to the floor and stops transforming*

Voldemort: *points to a servent* You, take him away! *he turns around and walks to his desk*

Bruce: *transforms into the Hulk and roars*

Hulk: HULK KILL YOU! HULK KILL YOU ALL!!!!! *he grabs a few servents and rips them in half*

A few guards walk in and start shooting at the Hulk.

Hulk: *shields himself from the gunfire and jumps through the glass*

A few days later Bruce Banner’s body was found by Wolverine from the Non-Bending squad. He was then taken in and nursed back to health by the team.

Bruce: *wakes up and gets out of bed*

Barbara: *walks in* Hey, sit down. You might still be a bit out of it.

Bruce: I’m fine! *looks at Barbara and notices the costume* You’re that Bat-Lady, right?

Barbara: Batgirl, but you could call me Barbara.

Bruce: Cool. Um.... Barbara, where am I.

Barbara: You’re in Republic City.

Bruce: You’d think after a few years I’d have the geography memorized but I still have no idea.

Barbara: Well, to make it clearer, you’re in a city filled with diverse groups. In other words, you’re safe from whoever you were running from.

Bruce: Awesome.
