Side-eye
The Cardinal jumping spider is a fascinating spider that mimics velvet ants (an even more interesting insect!) in a real life version of an Xzibit meme: it’s a spider, that mimics a wasp, that mimics an ant, to deter predators. Evolutionary mimicry is mind blowing.

Haven’t been taking pictures lately but I found this cool website www.deepdreamgenerator.com that I thought I’d share. it’s easy to use with default settings but has a lot of depth if you like tinkering with your photos. It basically uses one photo (the “style” photo) as a pallet to repaint another (I call it the the “canvas”) photo using it’s colors and textures. The first 2 pictures above are edited versions of the 3rd jumping spider pic. You can load any picture into either the style or the canvas so it’s basically infinite possibilities. it does take from 2-10 minutes to generate each iteration as all the processing is done on their servers. (sorry if this has made the rounds already, I've been offline for a long time)
p.s. you can keep all your generated photos private on their website if you just want to try it without everybody seeing/stealing your images

Seven Days Challenge
Startled awake from my winter slumber by @celestialphotography for this 😲
“Seven days, seven pictures in black and white of your daily life. No explanation, no people. Ask a friend to join in every day. ”
Day: 1/7
Maybe @thesingingbullfrog would like to join me in trying something different? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Forgot I’d turned on “emojify” under the Labs menu. Freaked me out when I ran across it in action. Lol, Tumblr doing it’s part to drag old folks kicking and screaming into the 21st century ;) (although it failed to winkify my ascii wink)
(the Labs options are experimental features you can turn on under settings. In my phone it’s under “general settings” once you get into account settings, the gear shaped thingymabob)
